1 star and that's too much. Would not stay there ever! The owners are absolute horrible people and don't dare stay up past 11 or the owner witch will be calling the police on you. We had 9 people in our group between 2 sites my family consisted of my wife and myself my 19 year old son and 15 year old daughter the other site was mom dad and 5 yr old 4 yr old and 2 yr old after getting kids to sleep myself my wife and the mom was sitting at table in front of our camper(raining outside) just talking and yawning after a long day at splash in door park and sharron comes bolting around camper beside us screaming that she can hear us from 2 sites away. She then proceeds to belittle us until I told her she needs to move a long she is not wanted here. Which infererated her even more and that she was going to call the police and have us removed tonight. I in turn said go right ahead she obliged and we was met with pa state troopers about 30 min later which they was very respectful and as a matter a fact about whole situation. Another words wasn't there first time at the park they said numerous times they didn't know what was wrong with her but could we please leave the camp at 8 am which we did and started reading all the reviews from past stays it was like reliving the whole night Over and over with every story. Bottom line is I have been on both sides of this meaning running a campground and camping and I have never seen anything like this before. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING. I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND AND YOU'RE DEFINITELY GOING TO REGRET IF YOU STAY HERE!! The only reason I gave this KOA the one star was because the place is very clean and has okay amenities. BUT -- The owner, I think her name is Sharron is a dictator. Extremely EXTREMELY EXTREMELY BAD AND RUDE MANAGEMENT. We checked in on the 15th of July in the evening, and during checkin I narrated to Sharron about a bad experience we had had at a different KOA where the ppl in the campsite adjacent to us were up till 2:30 am with blaring music and how we had a tough time trying to sleep. To that, Sharron says, "Believe me we are very strict here. You don't want to have to talk to me at 11 in the night when I have worked for 12 hrs. If I end up giving you a warning, know that there is a chance you will be asked to leave if you break the rules of quiet time". So, quiet time is from 11pm-8am, and we were to instructed to only whisper after 11pm. We said okay sure. It's 11:30 pm, and we were hanging out around the campfire (five families together), no screaming no shouting no music either. The woman walks over to our group and says you HAVE TO WHISPER LITERALLY. Apparently she could hear us from 20 sites away. We didn't want to get into an argument so we just went to bed at midnight. The next night, after we returned from our activities at lake erie, we were all extremely exhausted and barely had any energy to talk, leave alone shouting. I actually walked 20 sites away to make sure we weren't loud, and also checked on others that were awake past 11 pm. I couldn't hear my party talking nor the others. Despite that Sharron walks over to us (She was literally hiding behind a tree trying to listen!!!!!) and very rudely orders us to WHISPER and WHISPER ONLY. We were extremely shocked by her behavior. She repeated that she could hear us from down the hill. So I told her that I myself had walked that far to make sure we weren't "breaking her rules". Ah, that she didn't like, so she immediately resorted to threats. She told us that she will have to call the cops if we didn't "cooperate". The next morning around 6:30am I talked to a couple a few sites away from us who were packing up. They said that they too were ordered to leave the campsite before 8am, and that if they didn't leave she would call the cops. We barely heard them talking! They said the same about us, and believe me, if five families together were to be loud everyone would know. This woman, Sharron, makes her own rules and it's like a curfew or school summer camp where all lights SHOULD BE OUT at 11pm. NO MUSIC, NO TALKING. GO TO BED. My point is -- if I had to go to bed at 11pm even when im on a camping vacation, I might as well sleep at home. Plus, no other family had complained about our party to her. SHE wanted to go to bed (after a looong day apparently, like she's the only one who works long days), and so SHE has decided that lights HAVE TO BE out at 11pm. Oh and did I mention that she indirectly told us that she will not allow us back to the KOA??!! We responded to her and said "You think we WANT to come back??" She had no answer to that. EXTREMELY RUDE AND SHE TARGETS PEOPLE SHE DOESN'T LIKE. WE ALSO FELT THAT SHE WAS RACIST TOWARDS US (WE ARE ALL ASIANS). I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS KOA TO ANYBODY, NOT UNTIL THE MGMT CHANGES. IF ANYBODY THINKS THAT THIS REVIEW IS FAKE, PLEASE FEEL TO REACH OUT TO ME. I AND MY PARTY WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TALK ABOUT THE DETAILS. read more

DO NOT CAMP HERE IF YOU LIKE HAVING A FIRE PAST 11PM. The previous owners were wonderful, always had activities for the children and ran a happy, fun, clean place to camp. We are respectful campers and used to have a blast. All that has changed now that new owners took over. They have 0 people/customer service skills. All my children were in cabin by 11pm. Sharon came up in my face out of the bushes, scolding us that we were too loud even though the kids in the cabin 3 ft away couldnt hear us..so we listened to her and went to bed, as I was very startled by her. 2nd night having a LOW volume convo around the fire at 11:15pm, she came barreling out of the bushes and scolded us again, made my daughter and i cry. Worst camping trip ever. Very odd behavior here and I didn't feel safe anyway. I never complain but i felt compelled to leave this review as i never speak disrpectfully to others and was appalled how they treat their guests. I hope this review saves another family from such a terrible camping experience. My daughter is terrified to camp there. We will not be returning here ever again. Side note: bathrooms werent very clean and had broken shower seat. Cabin door slammed shut every time and screen door had huge holes in it. read more

Just "OK". The place is clean. We rented 5 cabins and hung around as a group, I may be spoiled by some KOAs I have visited in the past, but I was left with the feeling that the place is clean and organized, but missing amenities that I have been accustomed to in other KOA facilities. No toaster, (come on they cost $20. I know because I went out and bought one.) They were very unhelpful when we needed to go places and do places. Thank Goodness for YELP! We needed to do Internet searches to find everything, because the staff really did not know where anything was. The staff was generally cranky too. If you have to deal with the public, you will need to answer some questions, if you can't do that in a cheerful way.. find another line of work. I also had the unfortunate experience of hearing the owner ripping one of the employees. I don't know the background, but criticize in private. read more

I'm sad that I have to write this review because I've been staying at this KOA for 30 years and have always loved it. The new ownership is the demise of this place. Had to stand in the store and wait 12 minutes to check in with my tired, hungry toddler because we were there at 2:48 and they don't allow check in until exactly 3. The first day we got there, our neighbors got in trouble because their dogs were barking and they blamed it on us even though we didn't say anything. The next day, my dog slipped out of the cabin while i was coming in and sniffed a dog that was walking by. 20 minutes later got told we had to leave because our dog "attacked" another dog. Never happened, never got a chance to tell our side of the story. Threatened to call the police if we didn't leave in exactly 30 minutes. My dogs are 8 and 10 years old and are extremely friendly and we have never had an issue coming there since they were puppies. We no longer recommend this place until there is a change in management, and from the looks of the other recent 1 star reviews, there undoubtedly will be. read more

If 0 stars was an option I would definitely consider it. First off, the facility is very nice. Potentially a lucrative opportunity but the MANAGEMENT is horrendous. In my 26 years of working in educational field I have only experienced this level of incompetence maybe one time. Sue has a personality comparable to a spitball and Jamie lacks the moral authority of making any kind of decision for himself. The "wood mandate" is a moneymaking scheme. It's one thing to "encourage" people to bring their own firewood but their wood isn't the only big free wood. I'm capable of selecting wood that isn't harmful to their environment. Then to drive around looking into fire rings for offenders seems a bit sadistic to me..... Makes me wonder what else they are "observing" in their facility. However, they do have a nice camp store and the location to Presque Isle is convenient. Unfortunately Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne (Dumb and Dumber) fun the place. When the ownership changes I will return. Until then I would avoid it if you're looking for a relaxing place to camp. Unless you're into prison rules then you're in the right place!! read more

If I could put a negative star I would... my family has been coming here for 16 years we loved this place highly anticipated usually twice year now never again. Once quiet hours are enforced take refuge like "The Purge". Not only that but bathrooms were not as clean, staff significantly reduced impacting all social events that small children or families made traditions out of. By far the worst experience at a campground in 15 years of camping. I have been to this campground about a dozen times in the last 6 years and always had a great experience until now. The new owners are the rudest and most condescending people I have ever met. You could not pay me to go back. We have camped here for years. It was one of our favorite campgrounds. We looked forward to coming everyone Labor Day - it was a tradition. The new owners harassed our children and scolded the adults in our party. We had 6 campsites of friends and family. (Including senior citizens that just wanted to spend time with their grandchildren) The owners were extremely rude and unkind. We look forward to coming to unwind and enjoy time with friends and family away from all the "real" world issues. That is what camping is all about. This was crushed - I can not believe business owners could act this way. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, not after how we were treated. Sad to say this KOA does not have any concerns regarding the welfare of its guest. my family and I were exposed to Covid 19 but had a weekend trip planned at this campground but when we called to reschedule due to Covid 19 the owner said either come stay even after being told we were exposed to Covid 19 or loose our deposit. All we wanted to do is reschedule for a different date so we would not expose other campers but it's clear that this KOA campground can care less of the exposure to there other guest and it's all about the money. read more

It was a pleasant experience. Stayed here this past August for three nights when my boyfriend and I were on vacation in Erie. The park is clean and the campsites were spacious. This park is more family oriented than other campgrounds I've been to so if you have children it's a plus. They have a heated pool, a fishing lake, and you can rent bikes. They also have breakfast on Sunday mornings and a playground. Plus the staff is friendly. My complaint was the firewood they charge so much for so little firewood but they gotta make money I guess. There are also many activities to do nearby as well since it's super close to Lake Erie. Overall it was a pleasant experience. read more

Don't Beware!!!!!!!!!! The place is awesome and so are the new owners. Just met them in August. My friends and I had a fantastic time. Except for the drunks in the cabins. They were rude, loud and obnoxious and there were children around. Nothing worse then a bunch of drunks. I would have throwed them out That night. Like it was their first high school party. Nasty language, no class at all. Guess they can't read either. When you first get there they give you a pamphlet to read, telling you all the rules. Guess they can't follow them. I hope they don't come back, who cares. That leaves room for somebody else to have a good time and make good memories with their family. We've been coming for years and will be returning again and again. We made new friends and we are all getting together soon. Make sure you make reservations a head of time, they are very busy. We spent 2 great nights at this campsite! We were on the pond and surrounded with small cabins and teepees and it was awesome here! The campgrounds where Christine and the office staff was very helpful. They had great amenities such as laundry, pool and all kinds of activities for the kiddos. We have been coming to this KOA annually for 3 years now, and they never disappoint. I cannot say enough about the staff and the grounds, all are great! We are a group of younger adults who don't have kids and use this as a fun weekend away. We respect the property and rules, and in return have all the fun we want with no issues. We noticed some updates made to cabins while we were there this past holiday weekend! Its nice to see such an amazing run campground and I hope to continue our tradition for years to come. read more

This was absolutely my favorite camp ground that I have stayed at. Your greeted as you walk into the office at check-in, then they escort you to your spot, then act as a spotter when positioning your camper. I needed something at the camp site, so my kids and I walked over to the office and by the time we walked back, they already had someone there to help us. They are always driving by waving and saying hi. It is very well maintained, bath houses were very clean, pool was clean, pavilion was clean... Nice store that a little of everything including some camper / camping supplies. Typical camping trip, something broke on our camper, so I asked where I could get a part and the front desk drew me a map, with step by step directions - SUPER helpful!! Very well pleased. This was my first visit to a KOA campground. We later drove to another on the way home and that one was disappointing. ERIE KOA is awesome! Only bad experience was my girlfriend! lol. they have a swimming pool, kids playground, lake to catch and release, ( also can catch frogs with nets and release! kids loved it). We rented the 4 person cabin. one big bed, and a bunk bed, an airconditioner, bbq grill. Bring wood or charcoal as the wood they sell is expensive from the store.We were on the west side right by the bathrooms. Yes, the tent campers are on the east side. fantastic, going back again this year! read more
