The owner, Mateo asked if I minded if they matched the Benjamin Moore color with a matched Sherwin Williams mix. I said sure as long as the paint colors matched. One week and into the job I called to his attention that the paint colors did not match. I asked if he checked to ensure the paint colors match and that attention to detail did not happen. Costing me a week in labor and inconvenience as he took no accountability and stated it was a miscommunication. The latter of which is likely due to not being fully fluent in English and our not being bi-lingual. The job required scraping paint off the walls to achieve Level 4 gallery treatment, which assured he had done many times before in Urban Reserve contemporary homes. Later learned he painted a few homes after the builder designed & constructed Level 4 walls. A 3 week job took 7 weeks, achieving inconsistent non-Level 4 results. This is a business owner who is comfortable over committing, and over charging with poor accountability to include damaging the front door modern bronze stained door handle with chemicals that removed the stain, and damaging/breaking electric window shades, all of which was left with statements acknowledging damage and no accountability to repair. The only thing on-point was invoicing for payment weekly. There is no reason to use this company for painting or other work unless you are amenable to being over charged off with a poor quality work result, that will necessitate hiring a second painting team to address the rework tied to errors, omissions and damage.

Southern Painting Coppell/Flower Mound office…read more I cannot say enough good things about Southern painting. They just finished our house in 2- 1/2 days much sooner and better than we expected. The team led by Anna consisted of 3 ladies and 2 men who stayed with us from start to finish and worked non-stop with excellent attitudes and communication. The work consisted of power washing all the to be painted areas, sanding, caulking all wood areas and windows, fixing several trim pieces, even cementing tiles and trim area on an upper deck. Instead of using a hand held piece of cardboard to protect bricks from over spray they covered and taped all the brick around the trim pieces. I asked them to replace trim around a pole that was damaged by our mowers with weed whackers, Southern replaced the wood and covered it with metal to stop damage in the future. The house is 4,000 SQ.-FT, two story brick with lots of trim including several painted patios, painted columns and many other painted areas. They also painted our inside master bath cabinets and some hallways; work was excellent and completed within a day. I bid several painters, thinking with their good reviews and reputation Southern would not come in with the best price, to my surprise they were lower than all by a wide margin. Working with Leo was incredible; we have never had any contractor communicate more and spend time on the job to make sure all went as planned. He didn't paint behind my fridge as I requested to do on his follow up visit, parts of the ceiling isn't painted and behind my toilet isn't painted either. There's a closet I'm assuming he used to store the paint that has paint splatters on the tile. His work needs to be inspected prior to giving him the full amount. Use at your own risk. He said that he had a crew that was going to be painting with him but ended up doing the whole project himself. I don't think he has employees.
