I had used Alex for a previous project for painting cabinetry and decided to give him the project for whole house interior. It was a disaster from the get go. He gave an estimate without checking the property ( with pictures from the listing). He did not assess the scope accurately and was unable to communicate it to his crew.He never showed up to inspect the work after it was done , thoroughly unprofessional from beginning to end. we had 2 experience with him, first was the interior which was good, then we asked him for exterior and he aske if his team can come sooner and we accept. however because of the rain our contractor couldn't finish his job on time and we asked Al to not send his tea. he wasn't understanding and kept saying that he would charge us more for the delay! at the end we asked him to skip some parts and we did it ourselves. and also after 2 big project, when we asked for a smaller project he totally ignored us and we didn't here from him. read more

Communication was excellent and I had my estimate based within 24 hours. A few days later, the crew showed up on time and ready to go for my exterior paint job. They powerwashed, scraped, and painted. They also repaired the areas that needed it and replaced some decorative shingles on the front of the house. It's interesting to read some of the poor ratings. I had quite the opposite experience. I hired Big Al's painting to remove popcorn ceilings from a 1980's condo, after I tried about a 12" square and decided this job was beyond my abilities. This condo had been a rental and the ceilings had been painted multiple times with gloss paint. It was tough going but the crew worked diligently to get it all off. They fixed a part of the master bedroom ceiling that had been improperly repaired. They applied new texture, primed and painted. They just finished yesterday and it looks great. It transformed the feel of the condo. If anything changes over time, I'll update my post. I will say that Alex is a "texter". I think that's just 2018. And in my case, it was just fine. He was really responsive via text. There are times though where I could see that you might want to talk in "voice". So if I could offer Alex any pointers, it would be to use all the technology at his disposal including the good old fashioned phone :-); it might work better for some customers. read more

Buyer beware. We hired Big Al's painting for exterior painting on a very old house and paid extra for the windows to be reglazed. Alex came to this property to collect a deposit and came back when we were not there to walk the job. This is not our residence so we were not there full time. It was a flip. The crew did not prime bare wood or the new front door and broke 3 windows. The paint is peeling off of the front door and lifting on the house. He refused to meet with us at the job. He also would only text. He texted 50 -100 times per day. I canceled the check when I realized he wasn't coming back. Rewrote the check for the balance less cost of windows. He just started messaging again. No accountability for his work and he must just be able to sit and text all day. read more

Contracted for interior residential painting that was to take 5 days. Prior to job being completed paint began to peel off crown molding, cabinets and doors due to improper preparation. After repeated requests that the owner come to the job he finally did and agreed the job was not satisfactory and would remedy the situation. Not only were the issues not corrected, but were actually made worse. After addressing the lack of prep with the painting crew, the head painter threatened me. I told the owner that crew was not allowed back on the property. Owner sent another crew that began removing the first crews paint job with acid based products that ruined numerous doors (see photo). The second crew complained that the owner would not pay them and indicated owner was telling them to just paint over previous issues and not correct the prep. That crew quit because the owner would not pay them. After more than 20 days the job was left in worse condition than when started. I had to hire another painter to correct the issues which that painter said were the worst they'd ever seen. **Don't believe the contractors response to my review. He refuses to take responsibility for the poor quality of the work and attempts to deflect responsibility to the customer. Just look at the pictures. They tell the story. read more

I was given this company's name from a realtor. Alex was great! Once I reached out and explained what I needed, he gave me a ballpark quote. Then I asked him to come by and look at the house for the job. He did, we talked about replacing some boards, and painting the trim of the house. He even had a good idea for painting my chimney. He then quoted me less than the original ballpark quote which was great. He wasn't able to schedule me for a few weeks, but that's okay. He was always courteous when I checked in with him on the schedule. He finally got back and scheduled me. I made sure his team would have what they needed. I was at work while they painted, but when I came home, my house looked different. It looked better. The guys were finishing up, it was a two man crew. I checked with them, gave them some water and then inspected the house before they left. Alex checked in with me an hour later and I asked how I could pay. He sent me a link to pay through Paypal, which was fine for me. I paid and done. The work looks great. I had some rotted wood and the paint hadn't been done in 9 years. I can't recommend Alex and his team enough! I just moved into a new house and had quite a few cabinets that needed painting. His team was able to come in and finish the job in 2 1/2 days. We selected them based not only on their very competitive quote, but also because Alex, the owner, spent a lot of time upfront with us on walk-throughs and making sure we were completely on the same page. They did a very good job with the paint and were very willing to fix any little details we pointed out needed another coat of paint, or stains that needed to be removed. The only thing was that they really underestimated the amount of time it would take and needed to come back for about three more days, but that was not really an issue for us.
