You definitely pay a premium for both the quality of the staff and the location, but it is worth it. My glasses were horrible broken and slanted. We took them to Erker's where I originally purchased them, the Erker's staff said they could try to fix them but couldn't guarantee they would not break. I needed them to be fixed asap and we couldn't send them away to be replaced. They tried to fix them and did in about ten minutes! Would recommend buying your glasses here. The team is very nice and helpful! The eye doctor was very nice and it was a great experience! I was there during the Chrome Heart trunk show and enjoyed their inventory of upcoming frames. My only advice - I originally requested my frames to be sent to Chrome Heart for repair and cleaning. I felt confident that the manufacture would be able to restore my frames and repair the hinge that I bent. Chrome Heart's have repaired frames for me in the past. Instead of sending them to Chrome Hearts; they attempted twice to complete the work themselves. The second time; the frames look much better but my preference from day one was to send them to Chrome Hearts. I will have a location I purchased from in Miami to send them to Chrome Hearts. The older woman that helped me pick out my frames was great! She was friendly and personal. The DOC was outstanding and made the exam actually fun and not the same ole "better now? or now?" type of exam Sadly for a place with the prices as high as here I wouldn't expect people to be eating yogurt at the front desk or for people to be gossiping about customers. I am sad that I didn't get any single persons name....but I don't think they offered that information to us. This place is ridiculous. I went for some frames. The petite old lady had me sit down and showed me 4-5 frames. Meanwhile someone needed her help and she assured that person she will be available in 5 minutes. To keep her promise she told her me she does not have anything else for me. So I had to go. Really? My boyfriend and I had the best experience at Erker Optical today. Open Saturdays til 5 (nice!) he scheduled his eye exam on his day off. He got right in with very little paperwork. The eye doctor was personable and extremely knowledgeable. When it was time to pick out frames, all the employees (especially Anita) were very kind and helpful to him. The selection of frames was great too! Everything from generic brands ($29.99+) to higher end brands. We were so pleased with our experience that we both chose our new eye doctor today after seeing the same one for 15 years. I would definitely recommend Erker Optical. read more

I decided to try Erker's when I bought their coupon at Groupon. BIG MISTAKE! * Rude customer service - don't expect friendly service here at all. The two ladies that I spoke to was rude! * Scam - Was charged extra $50 for contact lens exam even though Groupon says that it included eye exam! * Overprice - their frames and lenses are overpriced! I went back to Groupon and noticed others also had similar bad experience with them. The coupon may sounds like a good idea but it is not. Stay away from Erker!!!!! read more

We purchased a groupon for Erkers about 8 months ago. Very clearly in the comments section Tony Erker said "your eye exam is also a contact lens exam" and then again "your exam is for a contact lens exam as well as an eyeglass exam it is a full eye exam" and yet again "It does apply to a contact lens exam" to questions that were posted on the comments asking if the groupon could be used for a contact lens exam. When we used our groupon, we were charged $50 additonal for a contact lens exam! I called to complain twice and on the 2nd call they agreed to refund the $50. I've bought my last 5or 6 pairs of glasses at Erker's and have always been given excellent service at the time of sale and beyond. This is important to me but my primary reason for going back to Erker's over the years is their excellent optometrist. He's examined my eyes numerous times, both for glasses and contacts, and has always been extremely thorough and professional in every way, every time. I don't like paying such high prices for glasses but I'm willing to bite the bullet in order to get an excellent eye exam. Patty, who seems to be usually behind the counter, is also very professional and helpful--as have been all the salespeople I've worked with. The glasses I've bought there are top quality. If it weren't for the very high prices I'd give Erkers all 5 stars. I wish they had at least a few lower priced options. Even with a Groupon this is a very pricey place. read more

This was a HORRIBLE experience. What was to take 3 weeks turned into 4,5,and on the 6th week I finally got a call that my glasses and sunglass clip were in. It was the wrong clip and the wrong color lenses. That took another week. I was refunded 50% of the price of the clip. REALLY?? The right thing would have been to refund it entirely. I work in customer service for a luxury retailer and would have been fired for such nonsense. I've spoken to a number of people who have had similar experiences with Erkers. I recently purchased eyewear at Erkers. The staff was very helpful and I really appreciated the person who helped me choose a frame. However as other reviewers noted the frames and glasses seem overpriced. I spent $600 after the $200 groupon for an eye exam and basic lenses - not even trifocals. I was told the glasses would be ready in 7-10 days. It's been over 3 weeks and I still don't have them and they didn't reach out to me to let me know there was a delay. Stay away from this business. After four times of trying to get my glass prescription correct - I am left with a pair of glasses that cost me $950 and they do not work. I have to go somewhere else to get glasses that work for the Erker's management will not work with me. They say they work with you until they get it right - but they do not. They do not refund under any circumstances therefore I would stay away from this business. There are plenty of other glass places that have integrity and will not stop until you are happy with your glasses. read more

Bought a Groupon and took my family. Very friendly people. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Seriously though, it is very pricey! Even with the Groupon, it was well over several hundred a piece. And I got two hundred off each person. They say generic frames start at 39 and designers 100, but they never show you those! Bring your AMEX or whichever credit card offers you the most points back! You're gonna need it! LOL read more

I am so pleased with my experience and glasses! From beginning to end everything went smoothly. I made an appointment to have my eyes examined during my lunch hour. When I arrived, I was greeted with kindness, introduced to the Dr. and promptly taken back for my examination. The Dr. and staff are brilliant, answering all my questions, educating me on different lens material and helping me select the best frame that goes with my face shape. The frame selection is phenomenal; unlike no other. They have the hottest frames to choose from by far. I purchased two pair, my everyday-a savvy red pair called Monoqool and a special computer pair made for work, a black and tortoise frame called NW77th; which I'm in love with! I've had tons of compliments on my new glasses and I owe that to Erkers. read more

I recently bought frames and lenses from Erker's. The customer service was wonderful. Certainly this is not a "discount" service, so if it's price you're looking for this isn't for you. THAT SAID, the selection of fashionable frames is great! Fashion is subjective and I believe they have a great selection for any design taste. it's the customer service I received that was special. Shortly after getting my new glasses, there was a small scratch on one lens that I thought shouldn't be there since i had scratch RESISTANT lenses. After a short look at the glasses, the sales person said they would order new lenses. No questions; no hesitation. The lenses arrived in less than a week...I went there...they"popped them in and that was it. I will definitely return to Erker's the next time I need eyewear. read more

Just yesterday, I came here with a friend to get her prescription for contacts. It was truly & I mean truly an extremely horrid experience. Several months ago, my friend initially came here to get her eyes examined due to a great Groupon deal. Firstly, we went to Sam's Club to look at contact lens prices. My friend was happy with the low cost & with the great customer service. Since my friend forgot the piece of paper that had her prescription on it, an employee told her that the employee could call Erker's to get the prescription. The employee at Erker's would not release this information to the employee at Sam's Club. So, my friend went home to see if she could find that piece of paper. No such luck. She decided to go there & get it herself. The employee told my friend that the prescription was only for glasses & not for contacts. My friend & I, then, went back to Sam's Club with this lovely piece of paper & her insurance card. The employee at Sam's Club looked at the paper & was stunned. It did not have the correct information. WTF??????? She couldn't order her contacts at all. So, instead of going back to Erker's & trying to get the right information, the employee at Sam's Club suggested that my friend go to Pearle Vision & have her eyes measured again. In the end, Erker's measured her wrong. My friend was horrified upon knowing this. I was shocked to see a lack of professionalism on Erker's end. Upon entering this store, you can clearly tell that they sell high end frames. However, this store does not have high end customer service. The reason I gave this store 2 stars instead of 1 is that they let me use the bathroom even though I wasn't a paying customer. At the end of her eye visit, my friend was not given a box of contacts to try nor some contact lens solution. In the age of electronic media, the prescription could have been e-mailed or scanned in a PDF file. Paper is simply tooo easy to lose. While I understand the need for patients' privacy, prescription for contacts/glasses is not the same thing as a Social Security number. All in all, we wasted valuable time, gas & sanity trying to get one thing (a simple prescription for contacts) due to Erker's horrible customer service. Never again. read more

Nice staff, some very nice frames... but the prices! Expect to pay twice as much for lenses as at other places in town, probably 3- 4 times what you pay ordering the lenses online. I was shocked to be charged $250 for single-vision polycarbonate lenses (no coatings or anything special) when the identical lenses cost $70 online. Wow. They do have some nice frames, but get an estimate of the total cost before you fall in love with anything. read more

Id buy glasses from the Dollar Store before I went back to Erkers. And believe me, they were not cheap! The man that works there is so utterly rude and cold. Because my glasses where not right when they came in, he treated me very cold and acted like somehow, it was my fault. It was embarrassing and humiliating. I felt terrible when I left.
