In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

When I looked in Google and saw that they were open on Sunday I decided that I was taking him there. You come in and it is a down home feeling. You have to lay before you eat, not a big deal and for me and my husband it was about $30. They had fried and baked chicken, mashed potatoes, lime beans, black eyed peas, tomatoes and okra, and of course fried green tomatoes. The reviews we had seen had mentioned that item as being great and my husband can attest to the fact that they are delicious!!! The service was good and the people all checked up on us and made sure our drinks were filled and plates cleared away. We talked to one of the servers and they talked about how they were open on Sunday through Friday for lunch but closed and reopened on Friday nights for a seafood buffet. My husband and I looked at each other and went "Yes"! We will DEFINITELY be back to eat some more of their cooking. The menu is listed daily on their Facebook page so head over there to like and follow them to see what's for lunch everyday!

There were about a dozen main course items to choose from, mostly fried. There was enough items to make a full, non-fried meal. Two desserts to enjoy, both excellent. Never had an empty glass. Do note, we paid in advance; therefore, cash is needed at the end for a tip.

It has been a long time since we have had dinner here since the food was not good the last two times we had visited. We used to go all the time but the food just wasn't that good. We were greeted with a warm welcome and our waitress was wonderful. They were know for their thin catfish unfortunately they have lost their mojo. The fish tasted of just batter. Our waitress handled our party of 14 like a pro. Most of the food came out in a timely manner they were not busy. Our fish came out but the rest of the seafood platter was absent. When it did come out it was cool. Missing hush puppies which we had to ask for. The seafood platter came with two pieces of fish 6 shrimp 4 oysters , large stuff crab , fries and coleslaw. The fish was mushy, the shrimp and oysters were ok the stuff crab was very large but with lots of bread crumbs and green onions. Not our favorite. The place is beautiful. The owners have really worked hard and the decor is very nice. The focus is not on the food like the family that had opened the place. If you are on I55 stop in you will enjoy the beauty of the drive and their dock is great.

I ordered the special which was the thin cut catfish, fries, hush puppies, and I believe potato salad. I subbed the potato salad for extra fries. Now the amount of food was not much at all! Definitely not $19 worth. The fish was ok. Not bad but not anything I'd just have to have again. I didn't like the hush puppies at all. I wish it came with some type of bread. Overall, I'm glad I got to try it. Would I travel to get it? Nah.

A Standout Louisiana Brunch…read more We had a family brunch last Sunday, and Palmettos on the Bayou was exceptional. The Sunday Brunch Buffet offered an impressive variety, and everything we tried was delicious, especially the tender ribs, flavorful brisket, and the perfectly chargrilled oysters. The view was unique and right on the bayou, which added a relaxed, scenic backdrop to the meal. With live jazz and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere, the whole experience felt distinctly Louisiana in the best way. Friendly service, great food, and a beautiful setting made this a brunch we'll gladly return to.

The space inside was limited but outside was pretty spacious so we settled there. The disappointment comes from the lack of options offered for "Saturday Jazz Brunch" as we were excited to see if the option would be some brunch favorites the buffet turned out to be severely lacking of brunch items. We had to choose from boiled shrimp and crawfish(on ice). Fried shrimp, catfish and chicken tenders. Lasagna (weirdly with carrots and peas inside) catfish almondine (if I'm not mistaken) and other dishes that were not brunch menu items there was a . We were looking for chicken and waffles, pancakes, eggs hash brown something. The only thing breakfast was the omelette bar . Just stick to dinner cause brunch is severely disappointing on a Saturday
