Best neighborhood donut shop. Actually, this is the best donut shop in the area. Everyone here is extremely friendly and very welcoming.

Employees are always quick, respectful, and appreciative of receiving tips. Their donut selection is a bit more narrow than my go--to place, but theres still a respectable amount of options to choose from. Most importantly the donuts are always fresh and delicious! It's conveniently located near the highway and usually always has parking available for those commuters trying to get in and out fast. What I appreciate most is they always have a good supply of fresh donuts even closer to noon, so on those lazy days you don't have to worry about all the good stuff being gone super early. My only gripe here is that they never seem to have donut boxes, but instead place them in their pastry bags wrapped inside plastic bags. To most that's probably not a deal breaker, but boxes can be really convenient for storage. Especially since any donuts not immediately eaten will begin to have their icing adhere to the bags and completely strip off the donuts. Pricing is a little more expensive than some of the other donuts in the area, but they more than make up for it with quality and service!

My wife was of the same opinion as me. Soft and fresh but with what I detected as, a funny under-taste. Just being honest.

Makenna Coffee is seriously such a hidden gem!…read more I first discovered this place completely by accident a while back when one of my girlfriends and I were on our way to go camping. We were craving coffee, searched for the closest coffee shop, and happened to stumble across Makenna Coffee. I remember absolutely falling in love with their coffee and thinking, "I cannot wait until we come back this way so I can get this again!" Unfortunately, I never ended up making it back... until today! We happened to be in the area for an appointment at the Jeep dealership, and when I realized Makenna Coffee was nearby, there was NO WAY I was leaving without stopping. This was only my second time here, and somehow it was just as good as I remembered. Taylor helped me and she was such a sweetheart! I couldn't remember what I had ordered the first time, so she helped me pick out two different drinks to try -- the Sandy Blonde and the Maui Latte. I ordered them half sweet, and they were still a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but honestly, they were amazing nonetheless. I'm usually a black coffee/Americano kind of girl, but every once in a while I get a serious sweet tooth and want something fun and indulgent -- and Makenna Coffee is PERFECT for that. Their coffee is so good, and there's just something about this little spot that I've loved ever since I accidentally discovered it. I only wish I lived closer because I would definitely be here way more often. If you're ever in this area, do yourself a favor and stop at Makenna Coffee. It's one of those little gems you're so happy you found.

We have heard from a few people about this small but incredibly delicious bakery called Le Herisson…read morein Simi Valley and we were very interested in trying it. It's my opinion that it really is hard to find a local bakery offering sweet and savory pastries freshly made with a very personal touch, they are far and few these days. This place also offered daily specials and a variety of coffee drinks, small dining area to enjoy the treasures baked and brewed daily. So many wonderful pastries to choose from, so more visits will be in the future to explore the deliciousness baked daily. She is open from Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday through Wednesday. Very friendly staff ready to guide you through the many pastries baked fresh each day. This is an incredible bakery to have close to home, it does remind me of establishments you would visit in France or Italy or other European countries. If you like freshly baked pastries from a boutique local friendly bakery then Le Herisson is the place to go to. Bravissima, I just can't say enough other than let your taste buds tell you.

If you go in summer do not skip the Japanese ice, The ice is flown in from Japan, and I had the strawberry. It was absolutely delicious--light, delicate, and incredibly refreshing. It's a special seasonal treat you won't want to miss. I also took a picture of the Matcha ice. I purchased the strawberry ganache pastry and also got a Matcha ice drink to go on ice. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. I also always appreciate a self-serve water station that's so pretty and maintained. Every aspect of Le Hérisson is so elevated, beautiful, and thoughtfully curated. My only little suggestion would be to consider putting the more delicate pastries, like the raspberry ganache I ordered, in a small box rather than a paper bag. Something this beautiful deserves to arrive looking just as beautiful--and mine unfortunately got a little smooshed on the takeout What an amazing hidden treasure to have right here in Simi Valley. A French-Japanese pâtisserie this special feels like such a wonderful find, and the easy parking makes it even better. Thank you! Support local.
