This was literally the worst provider experience I've ever had. I had a visit for my eczema. The Dr was supposed to put in a script for my protopic and a referral to dermatology associates. My script was held up over a prior authorization that was never put through even after multiple calls. No result, no script, no referral. Months went by and I called again. They wanted to see me second time for the same thing. They were supposed to put my script through for my protopic and again, a referral to dermatology associates. Weeks went by after the second visit again, no pre auth was put through and no referral. It took two weeks talking to four different people with NO result. They never followed up on my pre auth or my referral. They refuse to to take care of my bill since they have done nothing for me which resulted in severe symptoms and pain and suffering. I called many times, and complained to the patient advocate with absolutely NO result. I fired my doc and switched providers, and they had no problem putting my pre auth in for my script and actually followed up on it and because they got me my script I have not needed my dermatologist. Mercy primary care does not care about their patients, and are not able to follow through with their tasks which resulted in my medical conditions getting much worse causing me suffering. I had even contacted Mercy through afterhours and left a message that was never opened or followed up on. There is no way to contact the front desk either, it goes to voicemail and they don't follow up with their messages. This organization is so disorganized and dysfunctional that I would NEVER recommend anyone to these practices under this system unless you want to suffer and pay for it.

They filled it as a 1-month supply, but still charged me the full 3-month copay and shipped just one box. When I called to resolve the issue, Kristy R. (Mail Order Pharmacy Rep) flat-out told me it's "not their responsibility" to clarify questionable prescriptions with the provider--that it's entirely on the doctor. That's not just poor service, it's reckless. Pharmacies are supposed to be a safety checkpoint, not a guessing game. It got worse. When I asked her how she'd feel if she were in my position, her response was: "It doesn't matter how I would feel." That level of indifference says everything about the customer experience here. Between the lack of accountability, unwillingness to verify obvious issues, and dismissive attitude toward patients, this experience was beyond frustrating. If this is how they handle something as straightforward as a prescription, it raises serious concerns about their overall service and patient care.

I had been in bed for two days and was due back at work but knew I couldn't make it thru an hour of it so I drove to the hospital. It's early afternoon on a Thursday and they had a 3 hour wait in the ER. Well I was absolutely too sick to sit in a waiting room for 3 hours- and that's just to get to step one. So I got back in my car and called Maine Med family practice and found out that they do have urgent care so I could be seen that day at a designated time just by a different doctor- but one with my records on hand. So much better . Seriously unless it's 3am and I'm in an accident I would ALWAYS prefer to just use my urgent care!! So today I had my physical. I received 3 vaccinations and was totally happy to realize the importance of having a regular doctor at a decent hospital. Going over the paperwork they gave me while there I realized that in the last few months they had amassed my entire medical history. I lived seeing shots I received in 1988. I don't have to remember that my Tetanus was due this year. They reminded me. Maybe it cuz I'm from a big city in California but insurance for me there always meant ER visits or clinic visits. Never this personalized care. They called me to set up the appt for my yearly physical. I didn't have to remember. Gotta love that. One less thing on the calendar to set reminders for.

Dr. Alvarez is very professional, nice, and really listens to your problems and concerns. I can't say for the other doctors there because I've only seen Dr. Alvarez. Kathy, one of many medical assistant at that practice, is so sweet and professional. The front desk staff as a whole are nice, but there's one receptionist that needs to work on her attitude. Every time I've checked in with her, she's just very snippy. Maybe she's having a bad day, but I've checked in with her more than five times so I'm not so sure. However, don't let that deter you because the care there is exceptional and they'll do whatever they can to facilitate your needs. If you are a Mercy patient, sign up with Follow My Health. All you have to do is ask the front desk receptionist to get you signed up. Once you do that, there's an app on your mobile device that is free to download and it's super convenient. Dr. Kazimierczak is phenomenal. I have seen him on many occasions for somewhat strange occurrences…read moreand he has nailed every single diagnosis. Not only that, but he is patient and super sweet. I never feel rushed when I see him and he always answers my questions and then some. I can't say, however, that I like the rest of this practice. The front end staff have been rude on more than one occasion and difficult when trying to make appointments. They are especially difficult when calling to speak with a nurse. They act like they are doctors and you are bothering them. I'm also not a huge fan of the other doctors and NP's who work here. Kathleen McKeon is quite standoffish and quick to get you out the door. Dr. Kim, who I have had to see a few times when my doctor was unavailable was the worst. Every appointment with her was a complete waste of time, with no resolution or answers. She refuses to give a referral to a specialist even though she can't figure out a diagnosis. She wasted months of my time when I had an urgent circulatory matter (a blood clot) that actually required an emergent CT scan with IV contrast. I didn't know it at the time, when I went to see her that it was a blood clot. Only after going to a quick care and getting a referral to a vascular surgeon was I told what it was. I will never take an appointment with her again and if you have anything out of the ordinary going on, I recommend you see another doctor. Would rate this practice lower, but I really love Dr Kazimierczak!

On the first visit, no one ever took my medical history, never asked any questions pertaining to the issues I shared (just took notes) and was extremely dismissive and condecending. Don't expect them to spend more than 15 minutes with you. No time to care for the patient when you need to make your patient quota!
