After purchasing a home the beginning of October 2014 we quickly learned that we had at least one leaky skylight out of our 12. We contacted a few different vendors and ended up choosing Esary to handle the job. To say I am disappointed in Esary's communication, customer service and work ethics is a huge understatement. Originally to get a bid guys were sent out quite quickly and we were given a quote shortly after the fact. This required a down payment of $1000 which we promptly supplied. We were told initially that they were behind due to rain so that the job would not be completed for one month. Frustrating, but we understood. In the interim it would have been nice if they would have done something, anything to prevent further leakage and water damage while waiting. My husband ended up having to get up on the metal roof (in the rain) to set up a tarp to avoid further damage to the cedar ceilings. A month goes by and no word from Esary on a date for service. No updates provided whatsoever. Every time a call was attempted I was told the person handling my job would call me back, they never did. Finally able to get a hold of D.J. we were told the job would for sure be done before Christmas. Well, Christmas came and went without any communication from them at all. Every time I would call the main office they would tell me that "D.J. has you on the schedule this week" and more similar run arounds. Fast forward to the second week of January and workers finally came out to do the job they were hired for in October. They finished the work in half a day so when my husband came home I voiced my concerns. It didn't seem like they could possibly finish with 12 skylights in that amount of time and also I noticed the skylights weren't pulled and still had old debris on them. He spoke with Esary and was told that the job in fact was completed and that what we had given as a down payment would suffice for the entire job. This seemed too good to be true being it was half of the originally quoted total. The very next day the skylights started leaking again, in the exact same spot. My husband went up on the roof and noticed that no amount of $1000 worth of work had been done. The old filler that wasn't working to solve the problem before hadn't even been touched, let alone re-flashed as planned. All they did was do some major caulking that my husband could have done himself. They also left garbage from the job up on our roof. D.J. was contacted immediately and told about our concerns and that something needed to be done. It was suggested that at least they needed to come back and replace a tarp in the mean time to prevent further water damage. They once again came out and put a tarp up and my husband was given a new suggestion of work that would easily solve the problem (this was by the same employee who made the original bid). He declined and said he wished to continue with the original plans that we were quoted and agreed to. He then gets an email from D.J. discussing the bid for the new suggested work that we never stated interest in. More recently today we received an email from D.J. stating that the work originally quoted in the signed job bid cannot be provided with the skylights as they are. In a nutshell Esary has given us a detailed job quote stating they would remove old flashings, replace with new flashings and re-install our old skylights. They came out and did work completely opposite of what was originally signed off for. Subsequently the leak issue was not solved and continues to cause problems. They are now saying their original plans absolutely cannot be completed and will be keeping our $1000. They are obviously lacking in ethics and continue to jerk us around. We are asking that they come remove the extra flashing they added that did nothing but add bulk and refund our money so we can have someone else come out and finish their poor excuse for work. Esary roofing sat on thousands of our dollars for four months before they finally scheduled to replace our roof. Then, they did a poor job at that. They left screws for the metal roof screwed into nothing but air. The sheathing was left exposed. The peak vent was not secured on one end of the roof. But, they did send a final bill and two days later called for the payment to be made. So we called them.....and called them. We had an inspector come out and look at our roof. He agreed....the roof was not done correctly,nor professionally. We are still waiting to hear from them. We just want them to correct their mess so we can be done with them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROOFING COMPANY!!! read more

Don't use them if you expect any sort of communication. DJ, the salesperson, was very in touch and attentive until he got our money. We have a couple issues to get sorted out and have been trying to get in touch with anyone from the company for three days with no calls back. It's not worth the hassle, I would avoid. The worst work, attitude, ethics I have ever encountered. Refused to honor warranty on improperly built roof that turned to mush due to lack of venting required within shingled cathedral ceiling. Diagnosed by Trinity Roofing Consulting Company., which wrote a detailed report, complete with photos, of opened roof. Esary's response was that there is nothing wrong with rotted roof and eight years of problems ignored by the company. I was attacked and accused of lying. After roof replaced by me when Esary refused to do it, problems stopped. Review submitted a few months ago to yelp was somehow deleted! read more

Our roof started leaking in a torrential storm. Esary sent estimator out to a remote site in 2 days! The staff helped us choose materials and color and accommodated our numerous phone calls. Esary reroofed at a fair price VERY, VERY quickly. The crew was considerate, neat and tidy. Very impressive product and service! read more

DJ Esary and his company are the best in the business. We needed a new roof on our rental property and our insurance company was covering part of the cost. DJ bent over backwards to help us get exactly what our insurance company needed. When there was a potential delay in getting our roof done (which we had timed to fly up to be there during the work) he managed to pull a crew together. I watched some of their work. When one guy cut a piece of OSB for the resheeting slightly off, I watched to see how they would fix it. They could have cut a sliver of OSB and fit it in. But they didn't. They tossed it down and cut a new one. You know with DJ Esary that you are going to get the job done right the first time and to the highest standard. He warranties his work which is awesome. Try finding that with another roofing company around here. Also, he vets all of his employees so he is guaranteed that all of his employees are legal in the US. As an immigrant myself (a legal one) I appreciate that he takes the extra step to make sure that all of those working for him are legitimately in the country. I have been impressed with DJ and the quality of work his crew has done. He is the kind of person you want to give your business to. He does things the right way. He was not my cheapest bid, but I have no worries at all about the workmanship which I would not be able to say of the cheaper company. Also, he was the only one who would warranty his work. And he certainly was not the highest bid we received either! Very impressed all around. If you have DJ Esary work on your home you will not be disappointed. It's great peace of mind to know that even the things that are hidden after the job is done will have been done properly. read more

My son worked for them and he would come home everyday and tell all of us how it would drive him nuts how unprofessional they were and how they only did the bare minimum work on every job site, it made him sick how much there getting paid to do such lazy work, they were very sloppy and they were constantly having to go back to houses they recently did and repair them again. He would tell us about how the employees would smoke weed and get high in the company vehicle on the way to job sites. He said it was unbelievable how many of them had little to no experience and most of there employees don't even have driver's licenses due to d.u.i.'s etc. and none of them are licensed nor do most of them even have the proper tools to do the job. They were so unprofessional they couldn't keep track of there own employees they called my son to offer him a job when he already works there saying oh we just found this resume on the desk? Definitely not someone I want doing my roof! read more
