Over the course of the four weeks it took to get our taxes done, they told us they were short-staffed due to COVID and that they had a death in the family. We didn't realize until we received the email in the attached photo, which was sent CC'ing us by accident, that they were likely just waiting for us to give up and take our business elsewhere. We do not have a difficult tax situation in any way and we make decent income. Therefore, by "being choosier of their clients", they aren't referring to our actual case being complicated or not making enough profit from us, but likely something related to our marriage status, our professions, or something else personal. I would not recommend working with this business in case they decide you're not worth their time.
