The room was overcrowded, the class felt rushed, and the puppies seemed exhausted and overwhelmed rather than playful. Many were hiding or trying to avoid interaction, which was hard to watch. What really upset me was seeing a child repeatedly grab a puppy by the ears while the parent stood by & also by a staff member, nothing was addressed. The environment didn't feel well supervised or focused on the puppies' wellbeing. For $50 per person, this felt much more like a money-making operation than an enjoyable or ethical experience. We ended up leaving about 25 minutes early with a lot of regret about supporting it.

Also, it wasn't until after the fact that I found out that the pups were not rescue pups...I hope the breeders are properly caring for these pups and their parents. Overall, I would not recommend this place. Check out puppy yoga with a rescue org instead.

We ended up being only 5 minutes late, but Chef Titik was so welcoming. The only thing should have been a disclosure about having pets and potential allergies. She made us a welcome drink which was very tasty. She told us a little about herself and experience as a chef. We learned so much inclusive of knife sharpening techniques to how to properly cut fruits and vegetables, putting together seasoning, tips and tricks, and some facts about food. She even took photos of us and shared them. She made us feel like family at home having us over for dinner helping cook. It was such a memorable experience and so unique and perfect for my team. They have everything you can think of: pools (4 pools!), saunas, restaurants, tennis, golf, basketball, boxing, group glasses, weights, machines, pickleball, spa, hair and nail salon, indoor running track, co-working space, and so much more. If you're looking for an all encompassing workout/work space, this is it! They have everything from full-size tennis courts, to a golf simulator-like set up,except you get to hit into an inflatable pillow! They also had plenty of Pickleball courts, and they offer so many different workout group classes.both a wet and dry, sauna, and tons of treadmills and free weights. I was also really impressed that they also had a physical training area. So think something that was my personal favorite and the best thing for Chicago Summers is a beautiful rooftop pool and lounge area. Not only did they have two outdoor pools (one for adults and one for kids) but they also have an indoor pool as well for winter as well as an indoor hot tub! They also had a common area workspace where people can come to take meetings and do their work from home gigs. You could practically move in here haha! As of right now, it is a $750 new membership fee as well as $295 a month, which is a pretty hefty chunk of change if you ask me considering most of the high rises around, have some kind of rooftop pool and workout area. It is cheaper if you join with a domestic partner or if you're between the ages of 16 and 29-see pic for current pricing. They also sometimes host social events which is super fun to meet everyone else in the club, but at the same time I think it is more of an investment in your future and your future health if you can afford it! I will not be joining at the moment, but hey-that could change anytime if I decide I should be on a health kick.

**UIC Swim Classes: A Budget-Friendly Option for Kids**…read more We enrolled in UIC Swim Classes for our 1.5-year-old and found it to be a solid, budget-friendly option. At $22 per session, the classes offer structured swim lessons at a more affordable rate compared to other local options. There is a chill vibe that works great for a 1st learner, but the level of rigor is lower than Goldfish so we switched there once we got off their wait list. Classes are sold in 5 week packages, and reschedules are not typically allowed. The class structure follows a set sequence of exercises. Instructors are friendly, but engagement is inconsistent. While they guide kids through various activities, the level of encouragement and feedback varies, with some instructors mentally checking out after providing initial directions. The UIC facility itself is quite nice - The water is comfortably warm and there are changing areas. Parking is available but paid for a few dollars. Note that your access is restricted to within 15 minutes of class time, so don't go too early. Though there are fewer opportunities for underwater practice and confidence-building dips, the parent/tot classes are primary about getting your kid comfortable in water. Overall, UIC Swim Classes deliver decent value for the price, though parents seeking a more intensive training that will get kids swimming faster may want to explore Goldfish.

I've done around 140 escape rooms, and did Railcar while visiting Chicago for work. The set is as-advertised, with a Chicago vibe, which is one of the main draws of this room. The set in combination with the story actually made this room more immersive than average, and the puzzles were reasonable and somewhat integrated with the story. However, a couple issues made this room disappointing: it didn't feel like there was a logical progression through the story, the ending seemed abrupt, and I felt that there should have been more movement between rooms to make better use of the space. Overall, a decent room and worth doing if you happen to be in Chicago and craving a room, but not worth going out of your way for. I'm giving this company a 5/5 because Railcar was a solid, fun game. read more

Had an amazing birthday doing all five of the available rooms. Amazing theming and mechanic of puzzles. Our EXPERT agents made sure our time travels were flawless. Our agents Red, Monarch, Scooter, Sweetheart, and an agent we can't not remember did an amazing job of making us feel really immersed in the environments. Was very grateful for the birthday surprises that were left for me. We are very happy to say that all of our missions were a success. We chose to do The Red Wire. The room itself was very well put together. Upon entering the room, you're transported to a small street in London and the game is afoot. We found all the puzzles fun and a bit challenging. There were a couple of times we needed hints, arguably we were trying too hard. Our game master could tell we were seasoned "operatives", and actually made us work for one of the hints. We enjoyed our interaction with them in this way. Overall, the room was great. While I can enjoy any escape room, it was great to be with people that we all knew. On the downside, these rooms are not really well maintained. Some of the puzzles were broken, we were told about that ahead of time, so the communication was good. Something broke, while we were accomplishing our mission. And our guide stepped right in so that that wasn't an issue. Would I go here again? Sure. At the end of the day, it's an escape room, and they are still a lot of fun when you go with fun people and don't get stuck with strangers who are not fun.

Basically 2 parties in one....but you only turn 10 once...right? Jason and Amy were super responsive and provided lots of info about their escape room choices and other mobile adventures as well. My son was all about the Super Hero escape room, which could hold 9 kids ma. When every kid responded yes to fun we realized we were going to need a 2nd option so opted to bring 2 escape room trucks. The other one was an underwater experience. We had the option of an hour in each truck or 30 min in each (so the kids could experience both). My son opted for the latter. The kids divided into 2 groups and did a condensed version of one escape room...and then did a switcheroo. They enjoyed both escape rooms, but all seemed to prefer the Super Hero one. One group was a closer group of friends than the other group and they seemed to solve everything a bit faster. I have noticed from other escape rooms that when a group is used to working/playing together things work out a bit better. Both gamemasters were super friendly and enthusiastic. We didn't have to do anything, but sit in our house and wait for them to come out which was definitely one of the easier parties we've thrown. They all came out excited and hungry for hibachi!

I'm pretty sure the owner did all the outlines for us, which was incredibly impressive! The painting was so relaxing, therapeutic, and fun! I love that my friend will have this book to look back on to remember the fun day. They offer SO many fun and crafty classes here. Wreath building, calligraphy, embroidery, macrame, and that is truly just the tip of the iceberg. If you're interested in picking up a new hobby or exploring a craftier side, I think indigo + violet is the perfect place to look.

About 4 or 5 days later, I received an email saying my piece was dry and I could pick it up during their hours of operation. When I visited Shot of Art for the pick-up, the ladies at the front greeted me and even gifted me another fluid art piece that had similar colors as mine. They were incredibly kind and helpful. One flag to note is that games are a max of 5 people (minimum 2) and you're welcome to mix your teams from game to game but I could see it being awkward if say, you came as a group of 3 couples. 5 people in your party is the ideal. We found the one-hour slot to be plenty of time as adults. Also noting that they can give you a sticker for discounted parking in the connected garage and the one across the street (was just under $15 for I believe 2 hours). You also get a free, small locker to store your purse, coats, etc while you play. I like to describe the games as "Wii party but IRL" as they're mini games that range from basketballs and crawling through lasers, to chill thinking games like finding patterns and spotting the difference games. Each "room" or game type also has a list of different game objectives/styles. Our favorites are the grid floor games, the laser shooter games, and the asteroid baseball throwing game. Cons are that when it's busy you do spend a decent chunk of time waiting for a room to open and there are lines for the more popular game types. They do try to limit the amount of players at a time but the popular ones will always be busy. Also worth noting that you won't come close to enough points for a prize except for a keychain lol, at least not for a few visits. Wear comfortable, airy clothes because you will definitely sweat and it gets quite warm and stuffy in some of the rooms. It's a fun activity with friends, especially in the winter cold months!

This was our first time at the Angry Cactus. We received an invite to participate in. Pluto TV…read moresponsored Rage Room. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the nice ladies working the check in. They have reservations for rage rooms (30min rooms you get a bag to destroy all kinds of stuff!), billiards, and axe throwing. The decor is trendy and lively. The music wasn't too loud. The drinks are pricey... $16 for 2 drinks. We got a burger and chicken tender dinner, 2 drinks for the same price down the street. The staff is very helpful and nice. 5/5 stars. The rage room was so much fun. 30min was definitely enough, we were pooped lol. Overall, the venue is small but really fun. Drinks were excellent (not to weak or strong). I got a Long Island and my wife go an Old Fashion. If you are in the area definitely check them out!

This was an experience, to say the least. We came in on a Friday night with a Groupon for axe…read morethrowing. The place had club vibes - dark atmosphere with some scattered lights, loud music pounding on the speakers, and there were 2-3 people dancing in the corner. There were scattered games, such as Jenga and Connect 4. We ordered the Blue Cactus and Old Fashion. The Blue Cactus was sweet, and if you weren't careful, it'd be easy to quickly drink. The Old Fashion wasn't anything special, just your typical old fashioned. On to axe throwing, the space where you axe throw was well lit, and we appreciated the guy who worked there, coming by to show us how to axe throw since it was our first time! There are chalkboards to keep track of your score. Just remember that the drinks can't be kept in the area where you axe throw, which I wish was better communicated to us. Overall, the Groupon was a great deal. We had some issues scheduling a time, so I had to email a contact there to have a time reserved. We were pretty surprised to see how few people were there on a Friday night, so it was pretty easy to play the different games scattered in the main room. There were also a few cute places for photo-ops.
