I attended a friend's baby shower at Indigo & Violet and it was the perfect afternoon. The space is bright and welcoming and bursting with crafty creations. We first gathered in the back where there is a bar and enjoyed some drinks, macaroons, and charcuterie. The space was able to hold about 20 of us comfortably. For our activity, we water color painted an alphabet book for the baby. Each page consisted of a letter and accompanying animal tracing, so our job was just to fill it in. I'm pretty sure the owner did all the outlines for us, which was incredibly impressive! The painting was so relaxing, therapeutic, and fun! I love that my friend will have this book to look back on to remember the fun day. They offer SO many fun and crafty classes here. Wreath building, calligraphy, embroidery, macrame, and that is truly just the tip of the iceberg. If you're interested in picking up a new hobby or exploring a craftier side, I think indigo + violet is the perfect place to look. read more

I had my bridal shower at Indigo & Violet for ~20 guests and everything exceeded my expectations! Leigh, the owner of the studio, led us through a floral arrangement workshop and it was a beautiful, fun, and a unique event- everyone had so much fun. We brought our own snacks & bubbly, and saved extra time for presents/games. In total we used the space for 3.5 hours. The total price was very reasonable for a private event in Chicago and the studio set up was perfect! Leigh was very professional, responsive, and listened my vision - she provided the exact type of flowers/color scheme I asked for. It was a lovely event and I cannot recommend Indigo & Violet enough! This studio is full of creativity and wonderful, positive vibes! I worked with Leigh to host a business event last year and it was wonderful to work together! The event was a major success! Everyone loved their Succulent Sand Art. In addition, I have attended one of her classes - Dreamcatcher Making. I came with a few friends and since the studio is BYOB, we had a creative and fun night with a few drinks! She does such a great job of providing enough instruction to get you going, but also allows you to make each craft "your own". Visited the studio as a company outing and had SUCH an awesome time! Leigh is so accommodating and helpful. Our group made bath bombs, wall art and dream catchers. I love crafting so I was very excited to take a class at Indigo & Violet. I invited a friend to a cookie waterpaint decorating class with a friend. I would call myself an "advanced" crafter, but my friend is self-proclaimed "amateur". We both had so much fun! Leigh, the owner, does an exceptional job of offering classes that cater to all levels of crafters. I went back for her holiday pop up shop and the vendors were different and cool. I recently took an ornament making workshop here. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Leigh was very helpful with the crafts, as I like to believe I'm good at crafting, and truthfully am the worst. I just went to the cutest, charming space in Lakeview. I attended Indigo & Violet's workshop that taught me and my friends how to make marbled cocktail glasses and we learned how to make Old Fashion Cocktails at the same event from Craftyours. I love the concept of meeting other locals while learning how to DIY fun things. The ticket purchase throught the website was fast and easy and the class was very affordable. Leigh the owner was great and accommodating, she said they rent the space out too for events ! Ill be back, it looks like they constantly have workshops happening. read more

This art studio is amazing! The space is so cute and Leigh is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I did an ornament workshop here, where I made several dog themed ornaments in a few hours. Everyone's ornaments, no matter their skill level turned out so well- I was impressed. Leigh makes crafting/arts fun and accessible for everyone. I told all my girlfriends about it and we are looking forward to having a girls outing at this studio. It was one of the best days I have had in awhile. Leigh provided awesome instructions, walked around to help and great materials and instruction to ensure everyone's projects turned out beautifully. (One of the event hosts also brought in mimosas and treats making it even more fun.)
