Escape City Buffalo sets a high bar for Escape rooms here in WNY. This is one reason I selected it recently when the teams I work with wanted a little adventure. I first visited Escape City 5 years ago or so, I was working a different job but really enjoyed the experience. In my previous adventure I played the Over the Falls experience and was completely blown away by the game. (We did not get out) Recently I was thinking for ways to get the two teams I work with out of the office and have an adventure. This wasnt about networking, team work, collaboration, etc. This was just about getting out and having fun. So when I saw Escape City launch Jurassic Quest I had to make a suggestion. I am a lifelong dinosaur fan and of course love the Jurassic Park, later World franchises and read the two original books earlier this year. If you are a fan of the movies you will notice MANY incredible details of this room and if you are a dino-finantic you'll easily get through some puzzles. The production value of Escape City is phenomenal as their parent company is Frightworld. You'll find great investment the room(s) you play through. Ive only played Over the Falls and Jurassic Quest, but each room pays incredible attention to detail and great investment in the technology for the room. If youre looking for an incredible escape room experience I highly recommend coming here for a game. My only caution is that this sets the bar high and most other escape rooms are not this produced. read more

Went to do the Over the Falls room this morning and we had so much fun!! This is the most immersive and realistic escape room I've ever been to. The concept is that you are on a ship that has been taken by Canadian pirates and you have to escape before you go over Niagara Falls. The staff is very helpful and you get unlimited hints that will pop up on the screens throughout if you get stuck. The storyline was really fun and the special effects were awesome! We escaped with 11 minutes to go! We will definitely be back to do the other rooms. read more

The staff member was friendly and explained things well. On this trip we did The Hangover room. It was a fun experience, but I think this room needs some attention. There were glue circles in places where things used to be, but were no longer. There was a stem of a martini glass that the top got broken off of (plastic, not glass) and it seemed a bit dusty. They are working on adding a fourth room with a Jurassic Park theme. I much preferred the Body Collectors experience because you went through to different rooms instead of just being in one area. The hangover room did have an elevator, hallway, bathroom and closet, but you didn't really move out of the main room like in Body Collectors. read more

Had an absolute blast doing the "Body Collectors" room! I would absolutely come here again and try a new room! When you arrive, you will scan a QR Code and sign a waiver on your phone. You'll pay. You'll put your items in a locker. (No phones, smart watches). Then you'll enter a room for your briefing (rules and such). You'll have 60 minutes to escape. There will be a display of time remaining. If you desire a clue, you can yell out the name of the person who briefed you and that person will display a clue on the screen with the countdown on it. Our guide Sergio was fantastic at his job! Thank you, Sergio! Body Collectors is rated as an easy room. We had a group of 4, 2 experienced, 2 never did an escape room. Although rated easy, it was incredibly challenging and we needed quite a few clues. I truly appreciated the mental stimulation! Challenging my brain is something and finding a fun way to do that with friends is top notch for me! After busting my butt for 3 days of garage sales, followed by work, I found a lot of joy spending a night off here (followed by Texas Roadhouse across the parking lot). read more

It was everyone's first escape room experience, but Ciara explained everything super well and got us all excited! So much fun ! I went to Escape City for the first time on NY Eve weekend. Only the scary room was available but we had a good time trying to figure out the clues and escape from the room. While we had fun the clues were difficult to hear. Maybe if they can be repeated twice or if there can be a transcript on the tv in the room it the super helpful. read more

We did the bone collector room. The stage and theatrics here a great. This room is a play on the "Saw" movie series. The ambience is spot on. We did have a hard time understanding the voice that gave you clues/guidance computer generated voice like the movie but very hard to understand. We didn't escape in time but had a great time. read more

We had a great time in the hangover room based off the movie but you don't need any knowledge to get thru it. We escaped with under 6 min to spare and had a great time. One of my favorite escape room companies. It's very detailed and immersive and definitely 4 people are required to physically complete some tasks. It's hard getting a group together but it's worth it. The tasks were systematic and several locks but more was built in. Tip: they don't expect you to come early. We got there 15 minutes before scheduled start time and it was still locked. The girl finally showed up herself and said we were early... Well yeah waivers and stuff. read more

Definitely one of the highest quality escape rooms in Buffalo. We did the "Body Snatchers" which is based off of the Saw movies. Definitely creepy and gory at times but no one was jumping out and scaring us (thank goodness). The ambiance was incredible, exactly what I hope for when I go to an Escape Room. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible. A good combination of searching for things, puzzle solving and teamwork. My only complaint was sometimes they offered clues even if we didn't ask for them. We ended up finishing the room with a LOT of time to spare. Maybe we would never have found the missing clues but would have been nice to have been given more of a chance. Once again Escape City Buffalo did not disappoint. We went in today to do Body Collectors and it was amazing. The attention to detail in the room was superb. We are so obsessed with Escape City Buffalo that we booked The Falls immediately after and completed two room. Troy and the assistant manager there are so amazing and nice. I really cannot say enough about this place it's seriously great! Their attention to detail and the cleverness of the different rooms, stories, puzzles, and games is truly awesome. I've done two of their rooms now both the Niagara Falls and the over 18 only The Hangover room and both were just awesome! Things move around you we even got into an "elevator" that shook you around as if you were really moving in one. We had some college friends in town for the week and took them here for something we could do as a group. We had a great time and even successfully completed the room. Booking was very easy online. Plenty of parking, this was a Wednesday night so I wouldn't have expected it to be particularly busy anyways. The lobby has a very Post-apocalyptic aesthetic. I will say we each had to input a fair amount of personal information before we could start, which I did not love. Why do you need my phone number and email for me to do an escape room? You don't. But every company nowadays wants your information for their own marketing or to sell to a marketing company. That tangent aside, we split into three different sized groups and were taken in one group at a time. The escape room itself was fairly challenging but not as hard as some of the others we've done (Lock and Key in Elmwood was the hardest we've been to). The operator gave us a lot of hints, I don't know if this was a scripted part of the room or the host helping us. Other than these things, the price was fine, accommodated our group of eight with no problems and we all had fun! read more

Honestly, the very best escape room in Western New York!! Hands down! My group of 4 friends are avid escape roomers. We've done over 12 of them at 10 different places. We heard about escape city from commercials about their room "body collectors". But I am a big baby, so we decided to do the room called "over the falls". Such an amazing escape room, I was blown away with the attention to detail, we did the Over the Falls room and it felt like we were on the set of Titanic, which cause my mom and I to reference the movie quite a few times throughout the hour. Loved how immersive it felt, it really has you transported on to a Ship that was about the take a dive over the falls. Also tip to the Over the Falls room if you are competitive like me, the wall are not the smoothest, going through the obstacles I hit the walls a few times with my hands & ended up with 2 bloody knuckles (it was worth it). This place set the bar for escape rooms. We've been on an escape room kick lately. This is by far the best room we've visited. We escaped from "Over the Falls." Everyone in our group raved about the quality of the room. It made you feel like you were really on the ship. Such a great experience. I feel like I'm going to be disappointed from here on out. As escape room enthusiasts, Escape city blows all other escapes away as far as immersion is concerned. The rooms are insane. We did both of them, you forget you are in a building next to a big lots. These guys are so talented. The puzzles were challenging. We can usually solve them but we needed a little help here. I'm not sure we would have figured a couple things out in our own. I like to feel stupid like "duh! I should have known that." Rather than " I never would have gotten that" But the room setting alone plus how awesome and fun these guys are makes escape city 5 stars all day. We will be back. This is hands down my favorite escape room in the Buffalo area. I've done Body Collector's and Over the Falls. The detail put into the rooms and games are next level (I wouldn't expect anything less from the creators of Frightworld). The staff is friendly and welcoming. The Gamemaster is fair with clues and helps the team when needed. The rooms are challenging but not discouraging like other's in the area. I would recommend a max group of 6 as, in my experience, it gets difficult for everyone to sufficiently work together. A great experience for team building or for you and your friends!! read more

From running water, to mood music, to hidden doors and barrels, from the moment I stepped into the "Over the Falls" room at Escape City I felt that I really was a part of the crew racing to get out the ship before we went "over the falls." Me and my friends have done quite a few local escape rooms many of which I enjoyed, but I really felt like Escape City did the best job of immersing patrons so that they feel like they are part of the story for the entire experience. We made it out with just 6 seconds to spare which shows how tough it was, our group of 4 is currently undefeated and while we have only set a record at the Erie County Fair, we usually don't cut it that close. I enjoyed the challenge of the rooms and the way everything pieced together, although I would have been disappointed if we didn't get out I still would have enjoyed the experience, our host did a good job of giving us some hints while also allowing us to discover things for ourselves. He was friendly and easy to talk to, he did a great job of introducing us to our story and helping us along the way. I have heard great things about the "body collectors" room, and their coming soon "hangover" room sounds pretty crazy, so I am sure we will be back sometime soon, and I encourage everyone and anyone to go try out one of their rooms at Escape City. This place is such a cool experience. It's done by the same guys that do the Freight World scream parks every Halloween season and if you have ever been there then you know it's going to be a good time. The set design is absolutely amazing as with all the things they do. It is fully immersive and you really feel like you are part of the experience. I have been some some where it's just a "theme" with a bunch of locks, but here at Escape City Buffalo they individualize the puzzles to make it more of an experience. We picked the body snatchers one which was super fun, and really kept you thinking throughout the whole room. The immersion alone was just amazing. My Husband and I were visiting in Buffalo briefly and had a bit of extra time...so we decided to give a call to Escape City and see if they would be able to accommodate us. Being that we were only a group of two this is sometimes not an easy task. The owner, Steve without hesitation told us we could come in and play Over the Falls. We were greeted by Steve when we arrived here. He treated us as if we were the only customers and this is what we have grown to love about escape rooms!! Once we were brought into the room the immersion started!! It was amazing!! the room was perfectly designed and the puzzles kept you in the moment and on the edge of your seat!!
