I was here with my adult nieces, nephews for a belated Christmas present. Located on the 2nd floor by the movie theatre of the Galleria mall, it's easy to find. We chose 2 of the 3 experiences. They're quick to say it's not an escape room but I didn't see the difference. However, having been to other escape rooms, this one has better "games" or adventures to figure out. There were 10 of us so, the more the merrier and everyone was somewhat responsible for getting the rooms solved. Plenty enough riddles and problem solving to keep us busy for about 40 minutes per room. The staff were helpful and seemed to enjoy engaging with the patrons. This can be a little tricky, which was good. It should keep you on your toes. A good team building experience for friends and families. read more

This is a really cool escape room. It is immersive and you feel like you're on a space ship, or in a castle, or in a tomb, which I really enjoyed. My family and I put our heads together and made it out of all three experiences with time to spare. My favorite was the castle. There were two really cool things in there, which I don't spoil. I also liked the puzzles and thought they were unique. The space ship was my second favorite, because it was like you were really in a space ship and truthfully I wanted to stay in that part of it all day and just hang out, and press buttons, and avoid meteors and such. read more

I'd prefer five witches. Or rather, Halloween 20somethings dressed as witches. Or barely dressed as witches. But this will have to do. I was honoured and privileged to be invited to the Yelp event here which was only the 3rd time I had been to one of these types of places. It's actually more enjoyable when you don't come with a very large group because it makes the challenges more challenging and gives everybody a good chance at participation. Employees are mostly really nice although a few of them do you have attitude problems. A couple of the guys who actually invented the rooms and are always leaving Easter eggs, as they call them, are a credit to the franchise and this location in particular. read more

I'll admit I was nervous to give this place a try. I've never done any escape room-type adventures, and they advertise it as something far more submersible than an escape room. But I was feeling adventurous and spontaneous before my visit, and I haven't seen a lot of activity around this shiny new place in the mall, so my friend and I decided to see what it was all about. I spoke with some of the team members beforehand, and I liked the way the one man described it - like you're the protagonist of a video game. 5 Wits throws you into the world in such an impressive way. My friend and I decided to check out Drago's Castle. They give you tokens you use to redeem one entry into the room, something I assume is more useful for when you purchase one of the two room/three room packages. It's a pretty good deal, by the way, if you want to do more than one room. Anyway. The door opens and a team member leads you to the back, where the real room entrances are. There was a bit of an introductory puzzle before we were allowed to "Enter the Castle," which in itself was pretty cool. There were three rooms, each presenting us with a number of challenges which needed to be completed and solved before we were allowed to move on. All the while the clock is ticking, and however fast we were able to complete the tasks ultimately influenced our score, and the story's ending. I'll admit that we were a bit slow to start, but the way it's set up, it's impossible to be 'stuck' in the rooms (there were also marked Exit doors in each of the rooms). Our 'wits' were really put to the test here, in a really cool and fun way! Teamwork is definitely something you will need at this place, and I highly suggest having more than two people on your team - my friend and I did pretty alright, but I think we would have benefited by having a third person with us, even a fourth. It was a fantastic way to get us to work together. Fantastic as a team-building exercise! The staff were all incredibly friendly, eager to talk to us about 5 Wits and were very encouraging. They're certainly part of the reason why I want to go back! I am incredibly curious about their other rooms, and I'm determined to improve our score of 76. There seem to be different endings as well, determined by how quickly and efficiently you were able to solve the puzzles? Makes for a great way to encourage people to come back multiple times, to try and improve the story. I will definitely be returning! read more

Imagine a digital escape room, that's 5 Wits. There are three theme rooms to choose from, where some of the puzzles change but I was told that the themes never will. There's a space room (enjoyed by all but especially with sci-fi fans), a dragon room (castle/medieval theme), and tomb (Indiana Jones). Each room takes about 25 minutes and you get a score for each room. Some rooms even have secrets that get you bonus points. Rooms accommodate 4-10 people, it would be difficult to complete some of the puzzles without at least 4 people. Kids- all the rooms are kid-friendly, but I suggest have at least one adult to help guide them through some of the challenges. Price: $20 for 1 room, $25 for 2 rooms, or $30 for all 3. Even though the rooms are interactive and take time to complete, the price is steep in my opinion, not sure if they offer a group discount but they do offer birthday parties. I've been to this location twice but not sure how many times I'll come back since the rooms won't change much. I would be willing to come back if it was with friends who had never been, or another location with different themes, but the price is too steep to come here regularly. read more

We had lots of fun this weekend trying all three of the 5 Wits interactive escape rooms. The rooms were fun and made the experience feel real. Most groups will complete the mission. The tasks and puzzles are not extremely difficult but, enough to not bore adults. We went as a group of 11 with 2 children (8 and 11 years old) Both of them enjoyed the experience. Our personal fave was Drago's Castle, so if you had to choose one I would recommend this experience. Prices: For $19.99 per person you can choose one of the three experiences. (Drago's Castle, Tomb and Deep Space). For $25.99 per person you can choose two of the three experiences. The best value is to pay $29.99 per person and experience them all. I would recommend buying all 3 experiences even if you may not have the time. You can always come back another day to complete the additional experiences. Each experience is about 30 mins long. Depending on how busy they are you may need to wait 15- mins to 30 mins additionally for each experience. Also, once you complete your experience make sure you check out your score!! read more

Loved it!!! Easily one of my favorite esc rooms to date (I've been to at least...6-8?) Pros + High tech: they spared no expense. High tech graphics, lighting, air and sound added to the experience. + Puzzles: I liked how some rooms led to others in different and innovative ways. Lets just say to expect the unexpected. + Variety: Dragos castle is a great room for families. It had an olden fairytale story theme but was creative nonetheless. I would say that this would be great for groups of 5-7. Too small a group and you don't have enough brainpower. Too large a group and you have way too many opinions. AMAZING SERVICE & LOTS OF FUN! Coming from Rochester, my wife and I were bored and really wanted to find something fun to do while our son was with his babysitter. We drove a bit over an hour to Buffalo to visit my brother in law and decided to visit '5 Wits' inside the mall. We got there pretty late, it was 8:30PM and they closed mall hours which was at 9:30PM I felt bad for showing up so late, and figured if we had time to play one quick game then we would be happy. Upon entering we were greeted quickly by a young lady who was so friendly and very accommodating to us. She offered for us to do all three of their rooms for a discounted rate and wouldn't mind at all if they had to stay past closing for us! That was really nice of her when usually the younger crowd working inside the malls race out of their doors at 9:29PM. We decided to purchase the three rooms, do two of them so that we didn't stay past close, and save the other room for another visit. Once we went inside to start the game we were greeted by a very fun gentlemen who made us laugh and feel right at home. He was very informative and really seemed like he loved his job which just made our experience a wonderful one. We will most definitely be back in the future and highly recommended coming to enjoy 5 Wits! It's very similar to escape rooms. The one main difference I can tell you is that you don't always make it out of an escape room. With 5 Wits you will always make it out even if they have to push you along when you can't figure a clue out. I thought it was a great concept and my wife and I had a lot of fun! read more

Wow is all I can say! Ok jk I can say more. 5 Wits does a great job of taking you out of your reality and into their fully immersive experiences. You can journey into space, a pharaohs tomb, or a medieval castle, all containing fun effects and challenging hands on puzzles. Each adventure takes about a half hour depending on how quickly you complete the tasks. It's fun to figure out the tasks together. They can take up to 12 people at a time, but I would say the best time is had with groups of 6-8. They have nice rooms to host birthday parties and other events. This was my first "escape room" type experience and I had a great time. I will definitely be back with friends. read more

Raise your hand if you have purchased an escape room only to be locked in an office cubicle with junk scattered around to make it "Alcatraz". If you hand is up, I too share your pain. Please don't give up to the depression that is this simple existence and scoot on down to 5 Wits! 3 ROOMS: -3 rooms for $30 THE ATMOSPHERE: - I'm not going to describe in detail each room as I would normally would as to not spoil any of the fun a new visitor would have experiencing 5 Wits. All three rooms were designed buy a former Disney imagineer. Everything from the storyline, the amazing attention to detail, and the multi-room interaction makes you feel like you're visiting a Disney World attraction. There are three different Adventures, the tomb, the space station, and the castle. At the end of each room your team gets a score. I find that we scored better with a smaller group of about 6 then we did with a crowded room of over ten. Crowded only in the sense that there were just too many people and sometimes it's best to sit back and think because each wrong attempt affect your score. - we did experience technical difficulties with the spaceship and one of the boards which was frustrating because we ended up getting a 97 and I think we would have gotten a perfect score had it not malfunction. Grr ADDITIONAL FUN: - there are private rooms for birthday parties or company Gatherings where participants can order pizza, salads, or are there things to snack on while enjoying the three rooms. I hope in the future that additional rooms can be added on or another five wits can pop up somewhere in Buffalo with a new theme however there is an algorithm so that each time the room is reset. You will never have the same experience twice. We will definitely be back again and again! read more

WOW! I was skeptical that this would more so be for children but it is fun for all ages. I had the time of my life, so much more fun than an escape room in my opinion. I was told it's $20 per person for one adventure. Or $30 per person for all 3 adventures. Please note that these prices were given on April 2, 2018. Obviously we did all three. We were there for about 3 and a half hours between waiting in line and doing each adventure. The main thing that sold me was not being trapped in one room for 30 minutes, there are multiple rooms in each adventure. I don't want to give too much away about the details of the adventures, so I will just leave you with a recommendation. If you only plan on doing one adventure, my personal favorite was deep space. The staff said the tomb is the most popular but I also think its the toughest. If you have some young kids, I think deep space is perfect for kids and adults to work together as a team. HAVE FUN. PS, they have storage lockers for 25 cents. And beverages! read more

Wow. This place is really, really fun! It's created/designed by a former Disney imagineer (which they told us during the fun Yelp Elite event they hosted) so all of the scenery and theatrics are fantastic and amazing quality. It's sort of an escape room, but it's less about finding clues and more about physical puzzles. Some of them can be really tricky, but if you're stuck or taking too long they'll help you out to keep you moving. I would say the Space Station is the hardest of the three themes at the Galleria location. I've been to all three rooms with just one other person, and it totally depends on how well you work together. Some of the puzzles are physically tricky with just two people, but it's possible. Too many people and you'd be struggling with communication I think. I brought my nephews who are 7 and 10, and it's a little above their level, but they still had a LOT of fun. Definitely a nice addition to the Galleria mall. read more

A fun twist on an escape room. With the bonus of anamatronics and computerized puzzles. We had a fun time and I plan to come back to complete other rooms. We went on a Friday afternoon and got the package of all 3 rooms. There were no other customers waiting when we first arrived, but by the second round there was a 15 - 20 min wait. Then we didn't even bother waiting for the third because the lines were a bit too long, but that's OK because you can save your token and use it another time! The rooms are challenging but easy enough to get through if you put your mind to it. They're a bit corny, but in a kind of fun way. The establishment itself is clean and the puzzles are well organized. My only minor complaint is that the smoke alarm went off and ended all of the games at once, leading to some confusion. The staff indicated that this is a semi normal occurrence, so someone may want to look into it... read more

My husband and I came here this week for a date night, and had an awesome time. It was definitely the best escape room experience we have had so far. We decided to splurge and get all three experiences for $10 more than just the one experience. Originally we thought you had to do all three at once, but your admission tokens for each experience never expire, and you can use them at anytime. That is what prompted us to buy the three experiences. It was a little pricey up front at around $70 for both of us, but it was a much better value in the long run. We did the medieval castle, and are looking forward to doing the space and mummy tomb experiences. It wasn't busy when we were there, so it was just the two of us. We had a fantastic time, but I feel like 4-5 people would be the optimal group size. Definitely a fun outing, and we can't wait to go back! read more

Had a really good time doing these rooms a couple weeks back. This was a fun and creative thing to do with a couple friends. As far as escape rooms go these were fairly quick and very easy. It seemed like if you don't get the puzzle right away, the narration in the room tells you what to do, which I didn't love. My main complaint is that my wife and I went with another couple hoping the 4 of us could do the rooms by ourselves. Unfortunately after completing the first room with just us 4, we got forced into a much larger group of about 12 people. We ended up standing around and watching others do the puzzles while we did nothing. I would definitely say the smaller the group the better. read more

The Tomb and Drago's Castle were my favorite puzzles, The Tomb being the hardest. Deep Space was fun too but I preferred the puzzles in the other two. I wanted to like this more but it just didn't do it for me. It's a great introduction to the concept of escape rooms, but I wanted more of a challenge. This felt like it was geared more towards novices and kids. Took my group about 2 hours to go through all three rooms (and scoring in the high 90's on all of them). The staff was very friendly. I think 30 dollars per person for 3 activities is a little steep--20 would be more reasonable in my opinion. If you bring a large group, be prepared for some people to just be hanging out while others work on puzzles. read more

5 Wits is sort of like escape rooms but much more involved. There are 3 rooms: Deep Space, Pharaoh's Tomb and a Medieval Castle. We did all three. I worked with a group of people, around 10 in most rooms, to get through to the next level in each room. Together we had to work as a team doing things in tandem or a certain sequence to accomplish a task. It was fun. The rooms were like movie sets, very well done. You felt like you were there. I especially liked going through the "transporter" to get aboard the spaceship in the Deep Space room. I was having Star Trek flashbacks. The puzzles in each room were unique and used a variety of skills. I enjoyed the camaraderie formed by having to work as a team. We did well together and made it through every challenge eventually. Some took more thinking and therefore more time than others. But all were fun. If you're looking for an unique adventure I would recommend 5 Wits. read more

Had the opportunity to try this escape room the other day. Located near the Regal Cinemas in the Walden Galleria Mall, 5 Wits captures your attention immediately! Walking by you cannot help but notice entrances to a Temple, a Castle, and a Spaceship. What are these? Why are they here? Where do they go?! I needed to know!!! So, explore I did...Each of the escape rooms have different puzzles to solve. The object is to obtain the highest score and the best outcome for your story. You could do each of these rooms several times and the puzzles will change so you cant memorize the patterns or the answers. The temple has an archiologcal dig theme, where a Pharoh is trapped in his tomb and needs your help to obtain eternal freedom for his soul. Fail him and pay the price! The Spaceship theme sends you to putter space where you must figure out what happened to the previous crew. Don't make a mistake or you will perish like the original crew! Finally the Castle has a storybook Princess/Knight/Dragon theme. Save the Princess before the dragon gets too big!!! Absolutely loved every one of these adventures. Groups of up to 10 can enter the escape rooms at one time. I recommend you have as many people join you as possible in order to help achieve the greatest chance of success! This place can host parties, they have a small party room with long tables set up. Perfect for Birthdays or work team building events! I was honestly extremely impressed by the attention to detail in each of the rooms. No detail was spared and of you decide to check this place out you'll see what I mean. Each room took appx 25-35min to solve. You can choose to do one room, and if you want to do others they are $4 more per person. I've done a few escape rooms. I didn't really know what to expect here. Turned out to be a fun afternoon. It's kind of odd - after all the pomp and circumstance at the front, it's a bit of a let down to have to walk through all the boring hallways to get to the start. While we waited for our second room, there were multiple staff members twiddling their thumbs out front but no one at the counter to move us along. The rooms we did were fun if a little silly. We felt a bit rushed to stay with the timing of the special effects. An alarm went off while we were in one of the rooms. We had to get reset to finish. We ran out of time to get to the third room.
