This was our 1st visit to an escape room for all of the folks in our group. We had 4 people in our group and chose the "Treasure Hunt" room. We booked this room because it was listed as their easiest room. The room itself was very interesting, as well as challenging. A lot of thought went in to the design of the room. The decor was interesting an laid-out well for a pretty small space. I wouldn't try this room with more than 6 people. It would be tight. Location of ER Loco was easy to find. Unfortunately, we didn't escape in the 1 hour but had a GREAT time anyway. We felt we had a pretty-smart crew going into the experience but failed to escape anyway. Our hostess at Escape Room Loco was VERY friendly and she offered us clues when needed (which was a lot). The experience inspired me to try an Escape Room again and I would definitely go back to Loco. Sorry, I'm not offering any clues for solving this room, but will offer 2 tips - bring your reading glasses (if you need them). Second, bring a small (good) LED flashlight to help see in this dark room. A cell phone flashlight probably won't be allowed. They provide each visitor a mini flashlight, but they're mostly ineffective. I hope they offer an easier room in the future for slower folks like me. There were 4 of us and we passed the Alien escape room. The puzzles were good and pretty challenging but the room itself was decorated nicely. However, our game master was very monopolistic and boring. We asked for a hint and she just came in and did it for us. The staff there seemed very tired and kinda brought tone the mood of the place. We have done several rooms at Escape Loco and usually have a great experience. I have even left positive reviews as a result. But on our most recent visit on Jan 11, we tried Alien Agents. We didn't even make it out of the second room and that was frustrating because many of the delays were out of our control. Several of the items in the room did not work properly. Locks would not open even when the correct code was keyed in, and the Game Master wasn't paying attention so couldn't step in to help when he saw we were giving the right answer but the item wasn't working right. We even had to repeat ourselves a couple times when asking for clues because it didn't appear he was listening. Whether we would have made it out or not without these issues is anybody's guess. However we likely would have at least made it further and had a more enjoyable experience. These rooms get a lot of use. Escape Loco needs to make sure they are doing proper maintenance to ensure everything continues to work properly. read more

My boyfriend and I went on Wednesday October 29th. We had so much fun. Did we complete our room?? No, no we did not and we learned that neither one of us would ever escape a real escape room. But we had a blast and cannot wait to visit Escape Room Loco again! They all did an incredible job putting together "Into the Upside Down"!! This was my family's first escape room and we learned a lot about how we communicate (LOL!) We had a Groupon for 6 people (the 5 year old was free) for the LoCo Cocoa Factory and had a blast! Though we chose adult clues, the 9 and 6 year old were still helpful because the room is kid friendly. Prior to starting, we spun a wheel which determined how many clues the game master could provide if we chose to use them. We spun 4 clues but only used 2 clues. We were working on the final riddle when our 60 minutes ran out. Ugh! Had so much fun tho and would def go back to try out the other rooms! read more

We had a great time. First escape room for my 11 year-old and my parents in their mid 70's. The two 19 year-olds and my husband and I were also challenged and really enjoyed the room. We did the Cocoa Factory with adult hints and it was perfect. Plenty of puzzles for everyone to work on their own thing and also help each other. We finished the room with like 10 minutes left, but didn't get the bonus puzzle in time. Great room for experienced and inexperienced, young and old. Our gamemaster was awesome. Thanks, Sofia! It's always a little more fun when you can successfully get out of the rooms. I've done both the mechanic's garage and detective's office and had about 15 minutes left to spare in both rooms. 2 for 2!! I enjoyed the detective's office room more because the clues were more challenging. Both rooms can fit up to 6 people, although I think 4 people in these rooms is ideal. They allow you to choose between having kid clues and normal ones in the rooms. It's definitely one of the more kid- friendly escape rooms in the area. They even have a mission to Mars room exclusively for younger groups. I've been to many escape rooms in the DMV area and this one was good, but not the most memorable. I would like to come back to try the newer LoCo Air room. read more

Love it here! This was our third room here but this time I had a group of eight 10 year olds for my son's birthday. They did the Refuge room and had a blast. The kids clues were easy enough for them to understand, but they only needed 3. And they made it out with 12 minutes to spare.
