We had a lot of fun as a family activity here. We did a couple of hours of axe throwing. The staff was very informative and helpful! They have beers and food. The pizza and chicken fries were really good. This spot wasn't super busy on a Sunday afternoon. Tip: you have to wear close toe shoes

This was a fun workout alternative activity. The staff was very helpful with lots of throwing pointers. The place was clean and the patrons were cheerful. Everyone will celebrate your first stick. I highly recommend this location!

We celebrated a birthday at Axe's and O's earlier this December and could not have had a more positive, memorable experience! None of us had done axe throwing before, but our instructor was AMAZING! Please help me remember his name after I share pictures from our experience (he had long hair). But he made us feel comfortable with the entire learning process and supported us throughout the experience. He challenged us when we started to get the hang of things and always kept our visit interesting--introducing new games to us and helping with point decisions. Love that there was food as well! The atmosphere is off the charts. Such a beautiful establishment! Would absolutely come here again.

Made reservations online - easy process! You do have to pay right there to reserve your spot. The chill area is pretty spacious and has lots of seats and there is a bar as well. The lanes itself had privacy for large groups, which was nice. Our reservation was at 7pm and our group filled out the waivers online. We got there around 6:55pm, checked in, and had to wait for the other groups that were checking in to fill out their waivers, which was kind of annoying as it says that it is highly recommended to arrive early for this step. Our instructor, Pedro, called multiple groups including mine to come join him for the demo around 7:10pm. The demo was probably five minutes long. We ordered some drinks and beer buckets. I had the pineapple express and it was really good - 10/10. My friend had the sangria and she said it was good, but not as good as the pineapple express. The beer buckets were $25 for 6 bottles. Around 8:25pm, Pedro was coming through everyone's lane to collect payment. We had a hard stop at 8:30pm - so about an hour and 15 mins of throwing the axe. In the end, we had asked Pedro to take a group photo of all us, and he said, with an attitude, "Yeah, hurry up guys I have to go set up for the next group." Our group stayed until 9:15pm to finish the beer buckets, and there was no next group at 9pm.

Went ax throwing for the first time for a friend's party. They rented all the throwing lanes in the back. We had a coach stay with us, giving us tips and taking our food and drink orders. It was really fun. The coach was really helpful and encouraging. Good selection of drinks (beer, wine, and cocktails without hard liquor) and food. I only had the pretzels but they were soft and warm. The facility was clean and well maintained. Lots of space. They even had some arcade machines in the front.

We booked a large group to celebrate my husbands birthday. From booking to end of the night, everything was perfect. Each staff member I dealt with was professional, responsive and accommodating. They are located in a set of industrial buildings behind the Dulles Town Center. For parties of less than 20, we booked directly online, paid a 50% deposit and signed online waivers. For groups of 10 or more, they will give you an additional lane. Upon entering, there are obvious sanitizer stations, lots of lobby space and online waiver signing stations. We were escorted to our back area lanes. There are relaxing couches and tables to use in each station. The rules are given to us by a coach. My only suggestion is that they turn off their overhead music because the coach was explaining to 3 groups. It was hard to hear him. The coach is also your waiter. We ordered alcohol and appetizers. All the drinks came right away and the food arrived shortly after. They have a great selection of craft beers, cocktails and so many yummy snacks. We ordered the flatbreads, pub pretzels, various tot dishes and their Buffalo chicken dips. All the food was hot and fresh. We also ordered several mimosa flights that were excellent. This was such an original idea. The lanes were sanitized during our play time. It's $35 for 90 minutes of play time. We had time to socialize and throw. The lobby has old school video game. Everything about this event was great. I highly suggest it if you want a night out with friends.

First time throwing an ax. This was a great experience... nice venue, good food and beer options, and amazing staff! It's not as intimidating as it sounds... I highly recommend giving it a try. I'll definitely be coming back.

Is this friendly for teenage boys to try axe throwing being supervised by adults of course?

Hi Andrea, this activity is PERFECT for teenage boys! They will have a dedicated axe coach that goes over safety, rules/scoring and technique. It’s a blast!

Is it accepted for just a two person party to walk in for a date to play? -Thanks, asking for a friend;)

Hi Anthony, yes! We do accept walk ins, based on availability. We’d love to have you come throw with us!

Food is OK quality and prices are reasonable if not inexpensive on their specials, like the steak and ribs for only $25. Good flavor and cooked ok but a nice combo for the price. Service is OK with some wait staff being more efficient than others. There were some who knew their customers by name and took time out to talk with them but that slowed down service a little for the rest of us. Nothing too bad but you might wait a bit for refills or something you need after your food or drinks arrive. We had cool fries and it took a bit for the staff to come back to our table to check in the dining room. Similar response time for wait staff outside when we needed condiments that were ordered but didn't come out with our entrees. Cigar menu is an ok selection where there is something for everyone; however, our experience was the place ran out of the first four cigars we selected and each time the wait staff had to come back to our table to tell us they were out of that cigar. Wait staff didn't know what cigars were in stock and which they were out of. Overall, very good experience for both inside the dining area and outside where you can smoke. Recommend The Bungalow Lakehouse as it is a good experience and has a variety of experience options.

The choices were: outside, the sports bar, or the dining room. We chose the dining room. A large group of people was sitting at a table. We were given a booth by the window and right by the server's station. Looking over the menu at home, we both decided that we would get a bacon cheeseburger. The entrees seemed, to us, to be too filling. The bacon cheeseburger consists of: "100% angus burger, apple-wood smoked bacon, vermont white cheddar, canadian cheddar, sliced tomato, and crispy leaf lettuce". We both ordered it cooked medium. The dish comes with fries. To drink, I had ginger ale while my husband had a Heineken 00. Our server was friendly and efficient. He made a mistake, bringing my husband a Coke instead of the beer. My husband corrected him. He apologized and retrieved the correct drink. The burger was dry and overcooked. It was more on the medium well side. In one way, I didn't mind that as I didn't end up with greasy hands or a burger that falls apart. The bacon and the cheese provided some relief from the dryness. The fries came out hot, which we appreciated. All in all, it was an OK experience; we would consider going again sometime.

What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is a very, quite spacious and very welcoming. It's right next to a lake and so the setting was lovely. We had an indoor/outdoor room with doors that opened to the outside. I had a raspberry lemon martini with a sugared glass rim. Very nicely presented. They have a very varied menu and they also have a large gluten-free menu. We both had the lobster bisque as a starter and then we both ordered the fish tacos. The soup was filled with lots of lobster meat and was delicious. The fish tacos were made with cod and the waiter mentioned that the slaw had some habanero chile in it. I asked if it was spicy and he said it might have a slight kick, but was not spicy. He was absolutely correct and in fact, if he hadn't mentioned the habanero I would not have picked up on it at all. It was really good. If you order bread, (and you have choices on type), you are charged I think a dollar per order, but that is donated to help people who are food challenged. We were full from our dinner, but we could not pass up an order of key lime pie for dessert, which we shared. It was a hard choice because they had a special dessert which was chocolate peanut-butter pie. I wish we could have had both. Their other desserts also sounded great. By the way, a portion of their revenues from desserts are also donated to help those who need food assistance. I was very impressed that they do that. I want to mention that the wait staff was also great. Friendly, attentive, but not over-bearing. I can't say enough about Sweetwster Tavern. For a weeknight, this restaurant was surprisingly busy, which felt like a good sign! Dinner started out with trying some of their appetizers. We got the Tex Mex Egg Rolls as well as their special Burrata appetizer. The Tex Mex Egg Rolls came with four tasty mini egg rolls filled with smoked chicken, corn, black beans, onions, peppers, and jalapeño jack cheese. They were served with a creamy avocado dipping sauce that added a cool, refreshing contrast to the savory filling. Overall, these were a light and flavorful way to start the meal. The Burrata special was also pretty good. It came with three crisp breads, cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, extra virgin olive oil and drizzles of balsamic glaze. I loved the buttery, creamy burrata paired with the juicy cherry tomatoes. I also liked how the basil pesto and balsamic glaze gave a bright, herby flavor. For my entree, I opted for the Wood Grilled Chicken Breast. Two generous pieces of tender grilled chicken were served over angel hair pasta tossed in brown butter sauce, alongside roasted cremini mushrooms and green beans. Interestingly, I got a lemony flavor in the brown butter sauce, which was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. I especially enjoyed the roasted cremini mushrooms. These were earthy, meaty and full of flavor! Overall, I really enjoyed my dinner at Sweetwater Tavern. From the flavorful starters to the hearty entree, it was a satisfying first dinner in Dulles. I'm glad I took the hotel receptionist's recommendation. Locals know best!

The food was beautifully presented and the wine pairing was superb. Definitely recommend having them pair your wines. The grilled shrimp was a great start. The sparkling rose made the shrimp taste even better. The goat cheese ravioli was probably my favorite savory dish of the evening. The sweet sage-maple syrup-tomato sauce was fantastic. The Sancerre was pleasant with it, although I thought the ravioli itself was more impressive than the pairing. I had to order bread so the sauce wouldnt go to waste. I ordered the lamb medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium, and initially it was somewhat underseasoned. After adding salt and pepper and getting some of the thyme from the plate into the bite, the lamb became significantly better and worked better with the Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The creamed spinach underneath was delicious on its own, but I didn't enjoy it with the wine. Interestingly, the absolute highlight of that wine pairing was the braised garlic. The sweet, mellow garlic and Châteauneuf-du-Pape were wonderful together. Dessert was the highlight of the entire pairing. The lavender ice cream was outstanding, the Chantilly surrounding it was light and delicious, and the strawberry sauce wasn't overly sweet. The Sauternes was excellent with the dessert, particularly with the fresh strawberry. This was the pairing where the food and wine truly made each other better. Even though I was one of the last diners of the evening, I never felt rushed. My server was very attentive and social which I love. Also, there was a large mural of Eve holding the apple with the serpent coaxing her to eat it. Now for the not-so-good things --- getting to the entrance wasn't easy, especially for my husband, who is waiting to get his knee replaced. To reach the entrance, you had to walk down a paved path with descending steps after parking the car. Upon entry, we had to climb a somewhat long staircase. On the way out, Masha stated that there was a ramp and pointed to a door leading to the kitchen and said we could go out that way. We chose to exit the way we entered. Also, they don't have any printed menus -- just a QR code to scan for the menu. We found that to be off-putting. Fortunately, we had already decided what to order before coming here. We chose to start with "Zaytoun", which consists of "Mixed Pitted Olives Tossed In Extra Virgin Oil. GF". This was a tasty starter. There were a few different types of pitted olives. However, we didn't think that there was any olive oil in the small bowl; rather, it appeared to be brine. For our main course, we both chose "Beef Kofta" which consists of: "Beef rolls served with Lebanese Couscous, Refreshing Tomatoes, Cucumber, & Labneh". The beef kofta was very dry. Growing up, I sometimes had Kofta, and it often turned out quite dry. The kofta did have some kick, and the small amount of very tasty labneh helped mute the spiciness. The Lebanese couscous portion was huge. That, too, helped give moisture to the kofta. This was a filling meal, and we ended up taking some home. Weighing the pros and cons, the cons, alas, outweighed the pros for us.

The ambiance inside can be described as a casual sports bar, good for big groups and chilling. There's lots of TVs around the restaurant, playing different sports channels. Also, their happy hour is between 3-6pm every Monday-Friday. They have an impressive selection of beers and ciders, both imported and locally sourced. The service was also great - our waiter was really nice and funny! I ordered the beer flight, which comes with 4- 5oz flavors. I asked our waiter to choose and he brought me a blackberry and blueberry lemon cider which was sweet and delicious. The sweet potato fries were a good pairing, but were a small portion and not great for sharing. Also, the Cajun Pasta took a while to come out, but was sooo flavorful. There was a good ratio of pasta to sauce to sausage to shrimp. It was a beautiful portion, but a little expensive for a sports bar. Overall, I would recommend coming here with a group of friends for a happy hour or to drink casually.
