Probably one of the better rooms I've been to. So good, that we booked a room right after and did the Maritime Mutiny. Also super fun and had a lot of creative puzzles too. We had an amazing time between the two locations which are in the same shopping center. We did 8-bit, Cryptid Grove, and Magician's Wokshop. 8-bit is great if you like the 80's nostalgia vibes. Cryptid Grove is excellent for mystery lovers, cryptid fans, and cartoons. Finally, Magician's had a lot of cool effects. We greatly recommend this escape room for any fans or enthusiasts. I had never been to an Escape Room and in the span of 3 days I've been to two. Ample parking. Very clean. Love that they kindly ask you use of hand sanitizer before entering the room. This Escape Room was way better than the one I went to in Clarendon. It was more inviting and nicely decorated. We didn't have to wait but several seating areas and water bottles are available and included. We went to the 8-bit room which brought my wife and I back to our 80s childhood. We live in Georgia and found this place on reviews and we drove to Virginia to check out the "rave" (yes that's a pun) we decided to make a weekend of it and turn it into a work trip but this escape room does NOT disappoint! The rooms are made by the owner so they are not a chain where you're worried you maybe already did the games! The staff was super amazing so nice and very very accommodating to us!!!!!! Best escape room I've ever been to. By now we've gone back and done every room they have. Very unique and detailed rooms. None of them feel small or rushed. So many details and clever hands-on puzzles. Just a couple minor issues/kinks such as things in the room not operating correctly the first time, but this is across all of our visits. My friends and I wanted to meet up and I suggested to do an escape room. I go online and find this place! I was thrilled and I booked a room and the process was simple and efficient. At the location, we we seated in a lounge with some small activities while they set up the room for us. Abbey gave us a quick run down of rules and how the game works. She put us in the room and started the timer. The music and ambience in the room was so realistic. However, I do not want to spoil it. The vibe in Room 213 was creepy with the music and furnishings that it gave me a spike of adrenaline! I took every little clue a bit too seriously and overworked it (typical me) to the sense where I had no idea what I was saying or doing! It was so much fun figuring out the puzzles. Ultimately, we didn't finish in time. Abbey said that we had two more puzzles left to solve and that we were close. This escape room (Room 213) didn't seem challenging on the website description, but I was totally wrong! Teamwork is key and doing it with a bunch of friends is a great way to spend time and be social! I highly recommend and I would definitely come here again and try out other rooms! read more

We had a team of seven, and there was adequate space throughout, challenging puzzles that tied together in a meaningful way, and really well designed decor. This is the best escape room I've ever been to! I heard about it from a friend, and I decided to go. My group decided to go to the scary room, Mystery of Room 213. It did involve some passageways and scary elements--in lThe props and setup were so creative, involving going back and forth from rooms and different kinds of challenging exercises and puzzles. We did it with four people but you can have up to seven. The clues were nicely incorporated, and we weren't bored at all along the way. We all agreed this was a unique experience compared to other escape rooms, not limiting itself to a linear progression of clues. It was spooky and very well-done! Another great thing to know: Booking was super easy. A simple online process and when I got concerned about my group's changed availability, I called. I was helped with VERY friendly and VERY easygoing customer service that talked me through other openings and assured me it was no trouble!!! My company hosted a team outing here & we all had a blast! The space provided many opportunities for each of us to interact & bond with our colleagues outside of work. They accommodated our group of 12 after hours & even provided complimentary drinks & chips while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Our game master (whose name I can't remember) was awesome--she was so excited about the room she prepared for us & gave us more info on the inspiration behind the theme of the room AFTER we escaped of course. We escaped from room 213, the Paranormal Room, very fitting for Halloween. The puzzles were challenging & fun, you're allowed 60 minutes with 3 hints... we escaped using all of them with 6 minutes to spare. Beautiful, detailed, elaborate escape room! I had taken my teen to a couple of them in the area, and been slightly disappointed by the rooms, which were sort of barren and small. I was searching the internet and reading reviews, trying to find one with more substantial furnishings and room design, and found this one. I wasn't sure from the reviews and photos that it would be what I hoped for, but it was! It was just miles above the other rooms we've seen. Sadly, photos are not allowed, no doubt because partly they would spoil the surprise and give away some clues, so all I can say is that I was just blown away by the room my kid played in. You'll see plenty of photos of the lobby, which is nice, but the lobby pales in comparison to the room I saw. It was detailed and multi-dimensional and imaginative, like a movie set. It was the Magician room, which I learned later is quite difficult. The kids didn't solve it, but they did get pretty far, and the game manager took the time to lead them through the solution before they left. My kid said it was the best one he's done, even though he didn't finish it. I don't play Escape Room games, but the puzzles that I saw were definitely integrated into the storyline. There were a lot of them, and they were pretty challenging. What I really liked though, was that it wasn't just a series of puzzles to solve, but rather that each puzzle unlocked not just another clue or puzzle, but a whole piece of the room or furniture, so that there was constant exploration and discovery happening beyond just opening a little box or drawer, as in some rooms I've seen. Overall, I think this is a must-do in the area, and although I was never much interested in escape rooms, I think I might go back and try one myself, just for the immersive experience. read more

AMAZING! One of my favorite escape rooms to date! After here about this escape room through Escape Room Arlington I had to try! So far I have done 8 Bit Escape, Maritime Mutiny, & Last Hope (I'm wondering whether I should do room 213, because of the scare factor). These rooms are amazingly designed (Maritime shocked me at how beautiful it was). The clues are wonderful, everything was seamlessly designed. Our game masters were great! I didn't think I was an escape room kind of gal...a group pedicure or cooking class maybe but didn't think this would be my cup of tea. Surprisingly I had so much FUN!! A group of 10 of us cousins were looking for something to do during thanksgiving break and some of them were escape room enthusiasts...I was just along for the show. But a few cracked codes later (one of which I had a big part in) I really had my head in the game. As to not give too many details, we did the Last Hope room and it wasn't easy but we Escaped with 2+ mins to spare and only 3 clues/hints used!!! I was very impressed by the room setups and use of technology, this was not ur average escape room (I heard from the enthusiasts)! I did an escape room once from this company in Richmond! I was so excited to see other locations. I saw that Room 213 was ending this weekend and I had to hop on and try before it was gone forever. Room 213 was FRIGHTENING but that speaks volumes to the amount of details and heart and soul that was put into the room. I loved everything about it (when I wasn't screaming). The flashing lights, sounds, and my god the last room...that's gonna haunt me. It felt like a movie set & everything was so intricate. Shout out to our game master for leading us through the puzzles when we were epically struggling. And we got a room 213 pin for completing it! covid protocols: Everyone is required to wash your hands or hand sanitizer before going into the room. I noticed an air purifier in the room too! I had so much fun here! I've never done an escape room before and to be honest I was a little skeptical that I would enjoy it, but I was having a ball not even 30 seconds after they let us in the room. We did the supervillains room, which is apparently their easiest, and took a whole 58 minutes to escape! We did need a lot of clues but it was ridiculously fun and I had a great time. My husband (a huge video game fan) and I felt like we were transported back in time to our childhood in the '80s. The nostalgia almost made me tear up. Our 10 year old daughter and teenage son and nieces loved the room as well and got a little glimpse into the toys, music, and games of "the old days." We visited this escape room as we exhausted Loudoun County & Missouri for escape rooms.They were very friendly. We did the super villain room. There was only 3 of us for a room recommended for 4-6 with a max of 8. We still managed to escape! The only draw back I found was the assistance of the game master. They do not actually talk to you, and you must flag the camera if you have a question. There was more than one occasion we lost more than 2 minutes as we waited for them to type their messages on the screen. We were also told at the start once a puzzle has been solved it will not be used again- there was one that had to be used again. We would still go and visit as it was a nice experience. read more

Had an absolute blast here last night for a birthday party!! Can't say enough great things about how different/exciting and new this experience was. I wasn't sure what to expect; I didn't think the "escape room" would live up to the hype; but I was pleasantly surprised! We had a group of nine and requested a private room... the Last Hope (level 8) which made me nervous that we'd never get out. The game master was great, he was informative, friendly and entertaining. I don't want to go into too much detail and give anything away; but we made it out with maybe a minute to spare! I was skeptical that we wouldn't make it out; but it really did help that we had people with different backgrounds/strengths. Bottom line: check this place out you won't be sorry!! I know we can't wait to try it again! It's a little tricky to find; google maps was confusing: it's in a strip mall near a Thai sushi joint and there's lots of parking in the lot right out front. read more

This was our first escape room, and the whole family had a blast! There were 7 of us, ranging in age from 9 to 52, and we did the Mind Trap room. Overall, the puzzles were not too hard for us, but we did need clues to solve it, and we finished the room at 30 seconds past the allotted hour. We had the final clue and knew what to do, so the staff let us do it and see the room open so we could escape! Staff was really great, and the puzzles were fun and all of us got involved in solving them. Reminds me of some of the old puzzle adventure computer games I used to play, where you had to solve puzzles in a linear order to go onto the next puzzle. They were challenging, but also very doable in the allotted time. I booked this as a Mothers Day outing to surprise my wife, and something that the whole family could enjoy and celebrate Mothers Day together with a fun event, and this was a lot of fun. This was the best escape room I've been to. Our game master was cool and got us right in. The particular room we did had multiple rooms and all kinds of puzzles that ranged from fairly difficult to easy enough for my 9 year old to solve. We actually somehow managed to "escape" without solving 3 of the puzzles so our game master came in and showed us how all the puzzles that we missed worked. The backstory, puzzles and room itself were very well thought out and put together. I would love to go back and do another one there soon! read more

We came here for a work team event. The staff are really friendly- greet you upon arrival, great explanation/ storyboarding of the rooms. We chose Last Hope. It appeared on the website that you could have 5 people, but (spoiler) when we didn't make it out, the staff told us 8 is the average/ recommended number for this room. If you're a Star Wars fan, do check it out! This was definitely a more challenging room than I have done before, but with a larger group, I think it would be dynamite. Really clean and interesting interiors. Would definitely do this again with a larger group or try a new room! read more

The storylines of their rooms are always super creative and the layout/decor are amazingly well done. I really like how their rooms often have multiple sections that open up as you solve the puzzles because you can move around a lot. Having done pretty much every escape room in the DMV. You can trust me when I say that this is the best, and my favorite escape room in the DMV. First of all, the game masters there are awesome, they have one game master per room, or at least it felt like they did. The game master was with you the whole time, guiding you as necessary to eliminate any frustration you may get from an escape room and help you progress if you are struggling. The decor of each room is spot on, you can tell they've spend a good dime on getting you immersed in the environment. I love love LOVE their 8 bit escape room. I've done 213, 8 Bit, and Last Hope. 213 is a creepy creepy room. Those looking for the creeper jeepers should give this room a shot. Not kid friendly. 8 bit is just the best room ever. It'll bring you back to your childhood. As soon as I walked in, I was amazed by the decor and transported back in time. It was fantastic! Last hope is Star Wars, space related. Who doesn't like Star Wars? All of them had great puzzles without huge logic leaps.
