Second time buyer from this used car dealership. First car was a Prius bought in 2019 and had zero issues. Second recent purchase, a 2015 Subaru Forester (totaling almost 20k) has been a complete nightmare!! I purchased the Subaru in September of 2025 and since then have had to return it to their service center FOUR, and about to be a FIFTH time for mechanical issues. The first time after driving for about 2 months the right control arm and left tie rod went bad, $600 out of pocket to have fixed. A month later the left control arm and right tie rod went bad, another $600 repair. Two weeks ago was driving to work and the car sputtered hard causing all the dash lights to come on. I immediately took it to their service department and was told they'd scan it to find the issue. Turned out to be a O2 sponsor, which they said would be another $600 to fix. I told them I'd do it myself. What their service department failed to realize or suggest is that a bad O2 sensor is a symptom of a bigger issue, SO now here I am again two weeks later with a broken down 20k used car. My next step is to send it to a Subaru dealer and have them diagnose it since the service department at Escondido Auto Super Center doesn't seem to want to take accountability or properly repair a lemon of a used car their dealership sold. read more

i was recommending them to friends after i bought my tesla. no more. i was told that when i do my taxes i will get a $4000 tax credit. well now that i did my taxes it turns out they never did the mandatory paperwork needed for me to get the rebate. i called talked to Cisco (also my original sales person) he said he will look into doing the paperwork and back dating it (very illegal) and that he will call me back. days later has not called me back. this dealership will say anything to close the deal but not follow thru afterwords. read more

I went online yesterday, Sept. 29, 2025, on Facebook Marketplace San Diego and saw a 1986 Jeep CJ7 for sale. The price was $19,999.00. I thought, "Great! It looks good, let's go check it out." So, I got in my car in San Diego and drove to the Escondido Auto Super Center. When I arrived, I looked around and did not see this Jeep! I went inside and after telling the rep why I was there, he said, "Let me check, I think that one's been sold." (The Facebook Market San Diego ad said that had been online for 15 weeks.) Another rep came out and said that the Jeep in question was sold about three months ago! He asked where I got my information and I told him. My question is this: If you sold this vehicle 3 months ago, why is it STILL on Facebook Marketplace San Diego?? (And, of this writing, it is STILL on FMSD!) It was a great looking Jeep! Did they leave on FMSD just to get more business?? Is this their way of marketing??? I certainly hope not! I can understand if the the vehicle was recently sold and no one took the ad off FMSD! Purchased my first used car here. I flew out here from Sacramento. They were extremely helpful and reserved the vehicle for me.

I purchased a newer used HONDA CRV from this company. The was the car I wanted and I needed reliable transit for my elderly Mom. I like this model ... looks like a new car. Interior near- perfect. I drove down and made the purchase. They did not provide a second key as is customary for most cars especially from a dealer, and they charged me for the Lojack, which is an aftermarket add on. After I reviewed this with my insurance agent (he said it was consumer fraud to fore me to spend $795 for it!), the dealer kindly refunded the Lojack charge and took off the gadget. I had to drive back down to Escondido (100 miles RT). My Honda dealer looked over the vehicle and told me it was in great shape, as represented. He has all the service information, as the car had one owner for most of the time. It was certified and serviced 100% by an out of state Honda dealer. The only thing we had to do on the car was cosmetic (they should have replaced deteriorating molding). Otherwise it was a good value and an OK experience. read more

I've had this vehicle about five months now and it's been nothing but headaches. I replaced my spark plugs, $80. Didn't fix the issue. Not the alternator, tested that after I replaced the battery. Replaced the ignition coils. That was $80-$110? I've run seafoam through it twice. I checked for vacuum leaks. EVERY TIME I get gas it takes about 10 cranks to start up. Jumping it doesn't help because it isn't a battery issue so all I can do it just keep cranking it like an idiot until it decides to turn over. Still fluctuating rpm's while idling; It's a manual and whenever I am stopped at lights or in traffic I have to rock it while revving so it doesn't die but no one knows I drive a piece of crap so I just look like an a-hole in a stick shift My driver side visor is now completely broken. My check engine light is still on. I've tried to clear it after cleaning airflow sensor, replacing engine components and running fuel system cleaner, comes right back on. I don't know how they cleared the codes and got the car in good enough shape to sell on the lot. I know for a fact it had issues before it was sold to me because of the windshield fluid thing, the broken visor cover and I checked out the car fax--the previous owner did routine oil changes but after the last one took it back to the same shop a week/ten days later. Car was sold within 6 weeks from that date and I'm the sorry sucker that bought it from these shady people at auto super center. Still paying on a car that dies regularly, won't start up 30% of the time and that no one can pinpoint issues on. Not only is their return policy only ten days, the car warranty they offer expires after 1000 miles which most people drive in less than a month. I didn't notice serious issues until I was in the middle of nowhere Nevada after I got gas, I obviously hit the 1000 mile mark on my way back to California. Let's not forget the fact that I was a young female stuck in an unfamiliar place with a broken down vehicle that I had bought two weeks earlier for 13 thousand dollars. I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs of the disgust, disappointment and pure disdain I have for this company & all of the employees but I'm hoping what I've written already is enough to deter anyone else from falling for these scam artists polished turds. read more

Unfortunately, they've been taken to court so many times, they make you sign an arbitration agreement. These guys are liars and absolutely dishonest. I was trying to inquire about a car, so I messaged them on Facebook about it, was even willing to put a reserve on the car, told them my offer and I have cash to put down on the car, and then was told "let me go ask my boss" then they left me on read, never reached back out to me saying that car was in the process of being sold, wasn't contacted or anything. Then I was told the car was sold the next day, sales manger never reached out when I inquired about it. All I have to say is as a military member, this is horrible sales and customer service. After several calls of promising manager call me back, I was able to get in contact with someone responsible and communicated with me by text and calls, promising that they would give me a check to pay for the tire replacement. Few days later, I sent a text with my receipt of tire replacement attached, and there hasn't been a reply since then. Overall, it is a nice place to buy preowned cars, people are really nice and there is AC at the store. However, based on my experience, there can be a delay and less enjoyable experience for their after service. Had the worse experience, they make me pay for a service that I didn't want (LoJack), then they offered a "Extended guarantee" I paid more the $2500 for it... 2 months later the car (month and a half) the car broke, I called to them to get help first to the service, it was 3:50 and the girl say the were about to close ( service is supposed to close at 5) and they can't do anything to help until next day, i call sales and the guy there told me to come over and leave the car there over night, I did. They say the "Extended guarantee"that I bought could or could not cover the issue (they don't even know what are they selling), he was contradicting him self. The girls from service told me that is different levels on the guarantee ( which they never informed when they sell it to me, if I knew this I would bought the one that cover everything) So I had to pay to them to get it fix, again "2 MONTHS" the car least.... The Escondido Hyundai, customer service department is going downhill in customer service. I called the day before and asked if I would get a rental car or a ride home. They said I would get a ride home. The work to be completed is... 1. Oil Change 2. Tire rotation 3. Transition check/repair 4. Warranty check/repair 5. Tire Balance 6. Car wash The total cost was going to be over 300 dollars and six or more hours. When I arrived at the Hyundai service department, I was told by a female manager that I would have to spend 500 dollars or more to get a rental car. Then I was told we could only give you a ride home and back if it were less than 10 miles. I live just over 10 miles. In the past, I was given a rental car or a ride home and back to the dealers. I was also told that I go to a mall in Escondido. So, I am to spend 6 hour or more at the mall. That is not a good solution. I told them to stop any repairs and that I would take my Palisade Limited someplace else. When it comes time to get a new car, I will not go to Hyundai. When my coworkers or family ask me about my Palisade, I will tell them about this experience. read more

I do not recommend for someone to buy a car from here. While the entire interaction started out positive, it definitely did not end that way. The sales people were nice enough at the start, but were pushing us to buy accessories and service that we did not require. After telling them, repeatedly, that we did not want the accessories and service, we were informed that the Manager said that those are not optional and were required. Since when is Lo-Jack ever a mandatory accessory? Every other dealership has it as an option. Why can I not drive the car off the lot to where I live in Arizona? They kept telling me it had to be shipped. Every other dealership is able to provide a 3-4 day permit for it to be driven to where a person lives, this dealership apparently cannot or does not know how to do this. When I asked to talk to the manager about these, I was told he is not available. Although, the manager apparently had enough time to talk to the salesperson, he could not make the time to talk to a customer. In fact, if the manager responds to this post within a day, it proves the point everything that is said above. On pushing accessories and services that are not required. Additionally, he looks for these reviews then tries to put a positive spin on the bad review. read more
