Despite reading the negative reviews, we decided to take a chance, on a Saturday morning, and experience this place. We enjoyed ourselves! It was a wonderful break from the noise of SMA. The water was warm enough to relax, the scenery is lovely, and the locals were quite friendly. Besides the sun and water, you can stroll the grounds, and enjoy the wildlife. Lots of turtles and fish in nearby pond. The lockers were taken, but it felt safe to leave your things while in the water. We were pretty much the only gringos, which I also enjoyed!

This was an interesting place. I really enjoyed the natural hot tubs. I tried 2 of them. One was really warm and the other was luke warm. The hot one has a huge chorro de agua that comes out of a wall and literally massages your entire body. Must try! Beware that it is pretty powerful! I scheduled a 30 minute massage...it was amazing! I coulda went for an hour but we were short on time and there was only one massage therapist. The great part of booking a massage is that you get to use the spa facilities for a shower, changing room, private restroom and of course, the indoor hot bath tub. The price for my massage was $15. Dollars. The entrance fee to the entire place was $150 pesos which was around $8.00 and includes all hot tubs and swimming pools. I liked this place, the only thing lacking was a place to sit!

Taxi ride cost 200 pesos- one way.

The Mayan Baths - Walking through the tunnels into the massage room

This is an amazing place from the well manicured parking lot to the beautiful lawns. You will be…read moregreeted by a concierge who will set you up for your visit. You are then escorted down into the bath areas where they provide towels and bathrobes. They have showers and changing rooms for men and women. From there you are led through several tunnels underground to the pools. The underground pools are long and narrow one has a very nice waterfall. There are seat seats in each area. Then you can swim through the tunnels into an outdoor pool with a swim up bar. We enjoy a wonderful lunch that was quite filling and very tasty. We were next led to the massage areas where we had a very relaxing one hour massage. Some reviews said that the pools were cold, they never were cold with adults only it was very relaxing and private.

We showed up the next morning at 10am when they opened and were asked what time we scheduled our massages. My wife was never told that she needed to make a reservation and that the only time they had was 3PM. We had other plans and weren't expecting to stay that long. We talked to the woman who managed the massages, who was apologetic and said she would contact someone to see if she could get someone in at 1PM. So we go to enjoy the mineral hot springs, which we were told was 95 F degrees. Not even close and didn't even seem like mineral hot springs. All the reviews that comment that the water is lukewarm are accurate. We lasted about an hour. When we got out we asked the women about the possibility of a massage at 1PM. Turns out she never contacted the person she said she would and at that point said she could try to now contact them. At that point we were done. But it wasn't over. We asked the person who checks you in to request a taxi. We were told 20 minutes. A taxi drove up to drop someone off. We thought we could just take the first taxi so my wife asked the price to go our destination and was told 200 pesos. The gentlemen that ordered the other taxi said our taxi was only 5 minutes away so we should wait as it is a taxi service they use. Should have known better and just taken the first taxi. The taxi that he said would be 5 minutes turned out be another 25 minutes and charged us 300 pesos for the same ride. Very disappointing experience. The funny thing is I hardly ever do reviews, but I had to share our experience regarding this place. Seems more like an expensive tourist trap rather than mineral hot springs.
