Every caregiver we've interacted with has been professional, kind, and genuinely caring--not just doing a job, but forming a real connection with my dad. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. One of the biggest reliefs for us has been how they handle the billing process with CalPERS Long Term Care Insurance. They direct bill the insurance company, which means we don't have to worry about being the middle person or dealing with the stress of reimbursements. That alone has saved us so much time and energy. Caregivers of Land Park's wonderful caregivers have demonstrated all three! We contracted with Michelle and CGOLP several months ago when I could no longer give mom all the care she needed as her medical issues progressed. Michelle hand-picked Martha and Claudia for mom and they were so wonderful! Super different in personalities, but both a great fit for mom and quickly developed a sense of rapport and trust with her, as she got used to needing care from people other than me. Our need for care increased, and Michelle and Martha in particular worked hard to accommodate our every request. We had a few bumps here and there as you would expect with any company where you are changing schedules on a regular basis, but it's always worked out and Michelle goes above and beyond, in my opinion, to accommodate and help families. We started needing some 24-hour care so we could get away on some respite vacation time and extra caregivers were brought in. Again, a few little bumps, and one in particular not quite as mature as the others, but I believe that they all helped mom to the best of their abilities and clearly wanted us all to be happy with their care. It put our minds at ease and we were able to relax and get renewed. Now that mom has transitioned to assisted living, we so value the relationship that she has built with Martha in particular, that we are continuing to request her twice or three times a week to help her with the transition and be our "eyes" and "ears." When we go out of town on vacation, this relationship will particularly be helpful for us, as Martha is a wonderful communicator and responds promptly to any questions or issues we have. Management is poor and discrimination is a thing. I stayed with my mom 24/7 and some of the staff were cruel with me while others were angels. My mom's mobility required 2 persons which I was one of them doing it with complete love. However, I was mistreated by management through passive aggression including verbal insults. The center refused to allow my mom additional days of therapy because the nurse director "did not like me and my sick mom".

FANTASTIC thus far. Better surgeon, much better physical therapist and home nurses. Healing much faster this time, walking steady, managing pain so much better and getting GREAT PT support. Christy has been so much better with work out. She stays here for a good 30 to 45 minutes and always explains which muscle or soft tissue is doing what action. She actually stays and practices the routine with you. Got some short but soothing massage to the under part of my TKR and good tips for balance and to stay on walker, especially during the night. That tip save me falling at 2 am one night! I highly recommend this team that i worked with on my 2nd TKR. Thanks everybody.

We ended up at Sutter's ER then had one home health visit from a few departments. One person was abrasive, the other was rushed the only one who seemed to care was the guy in PT. Their social workers who are supposed to help you find benefits for your parents are unfriendly, the least empathetic of any I have ever experienced. She even lamented about her problems and complaining about her job as if I was wrong for wanting figure out how to navigate CA healthcare. In WA my mom had Medicaid that paid for her to be in an Adult Family Home, she also had in home health and they were all really nice. Everyone wanted to help the patient:elderly but here no one wants to tell you what is available. I have been finding bits and pieces from people I encounter. There should be a packet or a hospital, county support person who navigates Medicaid. Helps you find, Boarding homes, assisted living or in home care covered by Medicaid benefits because your parents are eligible for these benefits. What is wrong here? Even the skilled nursing facility hasn't even mentioned Medicaid they just say her insurance is up go pay out of pocket for in home or boarding but they take Medicaid and this is Woodside... they sent me to a dump of a boarding home where a dog was locked in a utility building while I toured the place. Can Sutter do better? My mom has Medicaid in place in Washington good until April next year.
