If I could give this place 6 stars I would! A couple years ago we decided to try out the local coffee shop and after just one visit it became our very favorite! I tell anyone going to Hermann they can't leave without a stop at Espresso Laine! I was happy to find a coffee shop in Hermann that is open everyday of the week! I came here to get my friend's mother a simple black coffee, and I also had the pleasure of trying both an iced coffee and a delicious specialty hot coffee. My friend's mother really enjoyed the coffee I brought her. I was lucky to try the Hot Caramel Delight. It was AMAZING. It is an espresso with Ghirardelli caramel, steamed milk, and whipped cream. It was definitely one of the better hot coffees I've tried. The reason I can't get this place 5 stars though is because of the Muddy Water that I ordered for my husband. I've tried tons of different iced coffees and this one just seemed average (maybe even a little bit below average). It was also an espresso that came with Ghirardelli chocolate. The flavor was just bland and not as sweet as I usually like my iced coffee. Had it not been for this coffee, I would have easily given this place 5 stars as the service was excellent and the other hot coffees I ordered were amazing! With that said, I definitely plan to stop back in another time when I'm in town. read more

This coffee shop is so unique, I've never come across anything like it while traveling! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, with multiple cozy rooms where you can curl up and read a good book. The lattes are really good and not too sweet. read more

Espresso Laine beats Starbucks hands down! You can find several well crafted coffees here. Cute little shop with extremely helpful and pleasant barista. I saw two computers for customer use, several games and newspapers to occupy your time while sipping the bev of choice. Also a toy room where you can find several toys for sale. read more

I love this Coffee Shop!!! It feels more like you've been invited into someone's house for a delicious​ cup of coffee rather than stepped into a commercial​ business. There is an area to sit and chat with friends, tables to play games (which they provide) and there is even the most AMAZING room full of Melissa & Doug wooden toys for sale, that are incredible! Laine's selection is the best I have ever seen in any toy store anywhere and I am from Kansas City. I loved the gorgeous tall mugs in the beautifully decorated boxes; I bought several for gifts. Now for the Coffee.....they introduced me to the best Espresso drink (Cubano Latte) and I am in Love. Rich, strong and not bitter at all! I drive the 25 minutes from my Lake House just for this drink; It's that good! Keep up the great work guys!! read more

This is the cutest coffee shop - ever. I wish I lived closer, because I could totally see myself spending too much time in here. It's an old house divided into various rooms. The coffee bar is in the back, left, next to another room that is basically a toy store! There is another room where you can pick out beans to take home. Two other rooms are tables, chairs, board games to play, and internet computers. It's such a lovely spot! The coffee was really good, too. read more

Terrible service at Espresso Laine! I ordered a latte and they were out of the milk I requested so they substituted. When I got to the counter to pay there was a man talking really loudly and I could barely hear the cashier over him. A staff member told the cashier what I ordered. I paid with a large bill and was given change. When I went to pick up my drink, 10 min later, the cashier had it set back where I couldn't reach it and asked "do you have more cash on you? We didn't charge you the right amount and you owe $1.85." Are you kidding me? She knew I had cash because she just gave me change for a large bill. This latte is now over $8. I paid and left but seriously Espresso Laine, get your customer service in check. This was a terrible experience and also a learning experience for my daughter. I told her in retrospect I should have asked for a refund and left the $8 latte on the counter where I couldn't reach it. Stop extorting and treating tourists poorly or you won't have any left! Own up to your own mistakes when you ring up an order! read more

What a lovely cafe. Stopped by on a day pouring with rain and enjoy a well made Americano and delicious scone. They have a large range of scones, and my blueberry and lemon one was lovely. Lots of seating and boards games make this cafe a very enjoyable space and the staff are very engaging. read more
