What is better on a break from the day to day then specialty chocolates! No picture of the carrot cake truffle as I ate it as soon as we walked out of the shop! Yummmmmm. A huge selection sold by the pound so you can select 1 of anything and taste as much as you want. It smells amazing inside of course!!!

I was absolutely overwhelmed by all the tasty looking options. But I have to say that's after eating the pieces I got, I was underwhelmed. Immediately in your right after entering is a shelf of about 15 different flavors of fudge with sample jars in front. They sell the fudge is small pieces which I think is super awesome because I never want an entire half or whole pound of fudge. So I began sampling and none of them really did it for me...as far as fudge goes, this was less sweet than I'm used to. I also wasn't too crazy about the carrot cake truffle or the couple pieces I had that contained caramel. The caramel stuck to my teeth quite a bit more than I would've liked. However, I will say the chocolate dipped Oreo and the espresso truffle were pretty darn good! As always, it just depends on what you like.

Stopped in with the Lady for some local sweets. First impression when walking through the door is wow. Glass cases wow you with sweets from every angle. I had to try some of the chocolate covered bacon, salted caramel, and the Lady goes for a cheesecake bon bon, a peanut cluster, and a red velvet cake bon bon. My bacon good but a little heavy on the smoke. Not the chocolate makers fault, I'd just recommend a less smokey bacon. The sea salt caramel square was simply the best thing I had all day. So good. The Lady liked the cheese cake bon bon, but not the red velvet. The peanut cluster was made with good chocolate, but was just too dense. Overall we enjoyed the sights and flavors. A must stop for anyone with a sweet tooth. The Good Wow factor walking through the door. Chocolate by the pound. Lots of variety. Some amazing Sea Salt Caramel The Bad Over smokey bacon. Red Velvet fail on the bon bon. The Ugly Nada this place is A-OK.

I like this place so much that I decided to save this to be my 600th review... I am sometimes prone to hyperbolize my recollection of an experience when I really, really like something. That is not the case with this statement: these folks make some of the best toffee I've ever had! Their pecan toffee is nothing short of amazing. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Flavor that transcends the toffee/chocolate/nuts experience and becomes something altogether more impressive than any component when eaten by itself. This is what other toffee wants to be when it grows up! It may sound a little strange that I am THIS much in love with their toffee but I will make a special trip just to get more at some point in the near future, Not sure when, but I will probably wake up early on a Saturday morning and demand the whole family pile into the car so we can go back for more toffee. Also, at $16 per pound for anything in the store, they are something of a bargain when it comes to handmade chocolate products.

The most important thing that you need to know about Ricky's chocolate box is... Everything is sold by the pound! $16 a pound. That means that you can have one of every kind of chocolate that he sells., and if you do, Ricky will give it to you at 20% off! I absolutely adored the English toffee. Buttery, chocolatey, perfection that melts in your mouth! Remember, the next time you're in Hermann buying wine, nothing goes better with Port than chocolate!

It is very romantic and extremely picturesque. Make sure you check my review on the Winery to see the rest of the photos. The service and the food. This place, though it isn't indicated anywhere, stopped seating after lunchtime and took a break between 2 pm and 4 pm. They weren't kicking diners out, but also wouldn't seat anyone till 4. This is a bit of a shock for those just trying to get a late lunch and missed the 2 pm deadline by a few minutes. There is no other close option for snacks or something of the like. And unfortunately, the attitude was very much of a... "well, sorry that you weren't prepared!" We almost didn't return, but we wanted a specific item off the menu. And to rate this place! (Just dropped my rating to 3 stars from 4 as I think of this. When we did return in time for dinner, the same person who didn't recognize us at all cheerfully greeted and seated us. The waitress was very good and knew her stuff. Even so far as to suggest a specific wine with my dinner when asked. The food - This is the main thing that lost a star. It was OK. I chose the German Trio, thinking of getting a little of everything. And, I did. However, when it says smaller portions (see menu picture), they mean it! There was a smallish brat, an incredibly small and overcooked piece of schnitzel (pictured), and lastly some overcooked pork with a sauce all over it. I believe they get away with serving this kind of food for several reasons. a.) The sauce is amazing! And yes, it is on lots of the food or on the side as you wish. b.) The winery has a trolley that runs to it. So many visitors are "trapped" till it returns, so a place to eat makes sense. Also, the place's main concern is wine. The average customer is at least lightly sauced and will view this as the best meal ever because they are going to remember the sauce! Those of you who typically read my reviews often times know that I give each venue the benefit of a doubt and will go eat at them a few times to ensure it wasn't just a fluke. But not this time. I found nothing extremely redeeming other than the convenience of eating right after drinking a bunch of wine. This place touts itself as one of the premier, old school, and fancy restaurants in Hermann. It is not. Pick one of the others and have a better meal.

I had driven through Hermann plenty of times but never stopped until April 29, 2026. Now I'm wondering why I waited so long. Right away, this place stands out--vending machines outside stocked with their own brats (available anytime) and a dog-friendly patio. Already a win. Inside, we were greeted by owner Mike Sloan, who took the time to walk us through everything. That level of hospitality sets the tone. The staff was fantastic, and while waiting for our food (which came out quickly), we checked out their in-house products and free samples--impressive doesn't even begin to cover it. The place is relaxing, a bit eclectic in the classiest way, and just comfortable. Seats about 24 inside with a patio for... 25? in the back. The brick patio was covered only by a pergola, so not weather proof. Ham, cheese & egg croissant was lovely! I felt like it could have used a tomato jam or something - something to offer some acidity to the mix. The Covered Wagon (a breakfast burrito, smothered in gravy) was very good! We both agreed it needed spice or more seasoning. My husband added lots of pepper and some Tabasco sauce (that's the only sauce they had available, plus salt and pepper). Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.
