The line is a bit long but worth the wait!
    Angela C.

Delicious & HUGE!! I love this place! I wish I discovered it sooner. (We had tried few other places in this area and they were super expensive and icy tasting.) The ice cream here is fluffy, creamy and does not have the freezer burn taste that we experienced elsewhere. There was always a line here too and now I understand why. The line doesn't go too quick either so you might have to wait some time but it's worth it. If you are an ice cream lover, skip Haagen-Daz and the other ice cream shops - come here! You won't regret it!! Unfortunately, I discovered this place my last day here, and have tried a different ice cream shop every night we've been in Yellowstone, was going to give up on the ice cream in this town until I stopped here -- true ice cream lover here (Haha)! The ice cream at Espresso West is seriously the best!!

HUCKLEBERRY! HUCKLEBERRY! HUCKELEBERRY! I cannot say it enough to you... order the Huckleberry shake! It may not be for everyone, but if you like sweet than you can't go wrong! I love black raspberry ice cream and this is very similar but may even be better! DO IT! I had it in July and am still thinking about it. I miss you!

Ordered a scoop of huckleberry ice cream in a standard cone. It was sweet, tart, and yummy. The scoop sizes are large, think of two scoops from a place like Baskin Robbins. It's a wonderful value and a must try when in town. Also ordered a chocolate shake extra thick and the staff certainly delivered. It was just how I hide it would be. It stands on the corner of the street and the line was approximately 15 minutes to order, but all-in-all it is a 4 star experience all the way.

A must stop on your way into Yellowstone. Had the banana bread and huckleberry bar as well as a latte. All were so delicious they didn't last long enough for me to take a pic except for the bar. Come here for your morning wake up call. You won't regret it. Line can be long but moves fast. Can't wait to go back and try their ice cream!!

Best huckleberry ice cream in town! Very generous portions too, I got two half scoops of the huckleberry and the Graham cracker flavors and they were huge. I also got a latte, and my husband got a malted milkshake. Everything was delicious. Definitely stop by!

Yummy yummy this little stand at the west Yellowstone entrance. Price was very reasonable and portion was very generous as well. I got the huckleberry ice cream and my bf got the coffee milkshake. Both was delicious. Refreshing and high quality ice cream. Definitely would come back here for other flavors if I'm in the area

Generous portions & great prices! We enjoyed the huckleberry & coffee ice cream. It's a stand with some outdoor seating.

Mountain berry ice cream - single, in a regular cone!

Friendly service. A line forms quickly as one person working only. The mountain berry ice cream cream was delish, even on a mid-morning...breakfast or snack!? The banana bread (no picture) was moist and pretty good, but of course, I've also had better! Lol!

Went there 2 days in a row for ice cream and coffee. Wilcoxsons ice cream was the brand they serve. Huckleberry was oh so yummy! Never had it but went back the second day for more. Moose Tracks wasn't bad either. Serving size for 2 scoops for $4.00 was amazing for today's world!!!

Forget all the other places selling ice cream in West Yellowstone; come here! Incredible prices and generous portions. Need I say more? I waited in the pouring rain for my scoop of huckleberry ice cream and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Massive ice cream scoops. Huckleberry was fantastic. $4.75 single scoop but big enough to be a double. No extra charge for cone.

In a town where…read morebreakfast options can be somewhat limited, service can move at a different pace than larger cities, and many establishments don't open particularly early, Book Peddler fills a nice niche by serving good coffee, made-to-order breakfast items, and offering a genuinely enjoyable bookstore to browse before heading into Yellowstone. I'd still suggest checking their website for seasonal hours, but we found them open early enough to comfortably fuel up before entering the park. The coffee program is surprisingly strong for a small tourist town bookstore café. They offer several locally roasted coffees, including lighter roasts, darker roasts, and decaf options, along with espresso drinks and specialty coffee beverages. We found the coffee to be among the better options available in town. The breakfast menu was another pleasant surprise. Rather than relying solely on pastries or grab-and-go items, many of the offerings are prepared to order. You'll find breakfast burritos, sandwiches, vegetarian selections, and meat options, giving most travelers enough variety to satisfy differing tastes. It's one of the few places in West Yellowstone where you won't be steered towards elk or bison! During our visit they offered both vegetable and ham quiches, along with chili. Everything we tried was fresh, satisfying, and felt like a step above what we expected to find in a small gateway community. Service is solid, though perhaps not spectacular by large-city standards. Orders can take a little while during busier periods, but honestly it felt very much on pace with West Yellowstone as a whole. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure guests had a good experience. Given the town's relative isolation and dependence on deliveries, it's also not uncommon for certain items to occasionally be unavailable, whether that's a specific milk option, produce item, or pastry. We found the staff to be upfront about availability, and it never materially detracted from the experience. The bookstore itself is worth spending some time in, even if you originally stopped by only for coffee. The selection leans heavily into Yellowstone, national parks, western fiction, travel, and regional history. It's a much better place to find a unique souvenir or gift to bring home than another shop selling the same T-shirts, magnets, and trinkets found throughout town. Final Thoughts: Book Peddler quietly does several things well at once. It's a good coffee shop, a surprisingly strong breakfast stop, and an independent bookstore that rewards browsing. If you're spending a few days in West Yellowstone, I would recommend making at least one morning visit before heading into the park. We enjoyed it enough that it became part of our Yellowstone routine. -AC

I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage, green bell peppers, onions, and eggs with buttery hash browns on the side, plus the soup of the day which was the Tuscan soup, and both were really good. Everything at the table looked fresh and hearty. I also loved how easy checkout was. They bring the receipt directly to the table with a QR code so paying was quick and convenient, and our server was super accommodating by splitting the bill four ways with no issue. The restaurant itself has that cute cozy cabin-style feel, plus they sell fun T-shirts and souvenirs inside. Extra shoutout for helping me wrap my breakfast burrito to go before our flight. The door directly opens to the bar, which has high tables where families can be seated. (Here, we chose seats so we could watch the World Cup match.) There's another room with more conventional, lower tables. I asked for sliced jalapenos to be added the buffalo burger with cheddar, lettuce, sliced tomato, diced raw red onion on a toasted bun. Diners can specify to what extent the buffalo is cooked: medium or med rare are recommended. Some of the choices here will take a bit longer to put together - the bubble waffles are made at the time of purchase, and take a couple of minutes in the iron. Espresso is also made one lovely shot at a time. We were lucky enough to visit W. Yellowstone in early May, when there aren't any lines, so waiting for a minute or two wasn't a problem, especially when it turned out the ice cream and espresso were both so delicious. For a small shop, the menu is really diverse. There are two different types of waffle cones (hot bubble and premade standard), a full range of coffee shop essentials with alternative milks (almond, soy, oat), crepes, shakes, and a few panini sandwiches (including vegetarian). Indoor seating is limited, but there are outdoor tables as well. The shop is small, but cozy and offers some souvenir items as well. This is one of the best indie coffee and ice cream shops I've been in (not just here, but anywhere) - I hope it doesn't lose anything to the massive crowds that will descend upon it once summer's here.
