Great customer service. Nice ambiance, plenty of seating. There is a parking lot available. Coffee was well balanced. Wasn't acidic. Great ratio to Coffee and milk. Tasty chai latte, wasn't overly sweet. They roast their beans in-house.

I've been coming to Essence for a few years now. This little cafe and roastery is hands down, the best in Sequim. When I was looking for the 'best coffee in town' I found a Yelp review by a coffee aficionado from Seattle. He said that this was the place! And it truly is. My favorite is the Cortado! Their in house roasts are very fresh and exquisitely done. They have great lattes and mochas, and if you're a coffee aficionado like me, you'll love the pour overs. In the back area is a comfy section with a couch and chairs. The main area has tables and a coffee bar for the solo flyer. Food fare is mainly local pastries, scones and muffins. My go to is the chocolate croissant, which accompanies my daily Cortado. Warning, this combo is known to both enlighten and create a vortex of energy which is a great start to your day! There are many regulars, where 'everybody knows your name.' I do appreciate cafes that use only pesticide free beans, and I've inquired and found this to be true at Essence. Enjoy the best in Sequim!!

Great latte while visiting Sequim. They also offer pastries that go with your hot drink.

Great quality coffee, with a cool, clean, modern vibe. Very sweet, friendly service from Zach and Izzy. We ordered 5 coffees between the 5 of us, mostly iced lattes, and they were all very good. Loved my iced latte w/ maple (half sweet). They were super popular on a busy Saturday morning, so some waiting involved, but we didn't mind. We hung out for a bit. Worth a stop!

Not just the best coffee on the Peninsula, you just won't find a grind this good in the PNW. The owner is an award winning roaster, and it shows in every cup

We had 2 pour overs and a chocolate croissant on a rainy afternoon. This place is serious about coffee and made great pour overs! Fellow merchandise for sale as well. When we arrived there were 1-2 customers and all the sudden the whole store filled up! We were just visiting town but great to see that there were numerous locals saying hello to each other at the local coffee shop. Would definitely come again.

Delicious lattes, and a chill, friendly staff. We would absolutely be glad to grab coffee here again if we are back in the area.

Very clean facility and friendly staff. Wonderful drip coffee and we shared a fig cookie and brought an oatmeal raisin cookie home.

Worth the hype! Great coffee, and the owners are very sweet. Syrups made in house, and you can taste the difference.

There was a situation with two pairs of glasses I purchased. I will say - I was NOT pleased with the lack of enthusiasm and professionalism of some employee (Optometrist) - and the poor OUTCOME of my EYE EXAM thru their independent business - totally separate from Costco! I gave my new glasses ( I loved the frames...the new lens's was the problem - a try for three weeks...NOT HAPPY!) I explained the situation to Alan! I will say Alan deserves a huge thank you for patiently listening to my complaint re: my EYE EXAM and lens's. He told me what options were available and we decided on what seemed the best choice. Very pleased! I really appreciated it! Brian and Alan both have been wonderful when I have had the pleasure of working with them choosing frames and the preparation needed to complete the order! Sadly, to the best of their ability this time it did not work out thru no fault of their own. 5 Stars for Costco Optical!

I am old enough to remember when Costco hired nobody but friendly and helpful people; the self…read moreserve counter today disproved that long-standing theory. I'm sorry there was not immediate compliance but when you mumble in point you can't expect people to understand what you're trying to say. If your goal was trying to repel business from that particular location, you're working at break neck pace. I'm giving this experience a two because the man at the cash register was extremely friendly and helpful as I expect and has always been my experience for the last 25 years with Costco. But you, working the self service counter, do you know who you are?

I have visited this shop several times over the years - If passing by and interested in rocks /…read moreminerals this is definitely as stop to make. Mike ( owner ) has been in the business several decades - and unlike several other shop owners claiming to be in the business for X many years and 'know their stuff' , Mike has been out there... Field collecting, travelling internationally to collect his own specimens and cultivating his own relationships with the mines. This separates Mike from 'the hacks' who simply buy their material from wholesalers, mark it up and claim intimate knowledge of their products. In short, while he defiantly is a character, Mike knows his field. The store has a nice collection of 'collectable' finished specimens appropriate for display - some defiantly harder to find items. Also a smaller ( and somewhat fading ) selection of collectable minerals in boxes. Most notable - a collection of meteor material - REAL meteor material; not the little bags of so-called meteors 'some shop' will sell in plastic bags that originally came from China ( and used to be a used car ). Anywhere from several oz size to 10s of lbs sizes, with providences. Also - for those interested to see REAL Moldavite - Mike has a small collection of this that was hand-gathered from the source . ( No - Moldavite does not come from 'a mine' - whoever tells you different is trying to sell you something ) You will quickly be able to see the difference between the REAL and the green-glass Chinese / Thailand versions you can find in 'other shops' that once were pop bottles. Mike also has on-hand a fairly extensive collection of fossil materials... but that's for someone else to review ;) All in all a nice shop with a truly knowledgeable owner.
