Just went here to get a fill and get my daughter a gel manicure. Normally the service is outstanding and we were looking forward to this. Neither the man that did her manicure or the girl that did mine spoke a word to either of us, it was very awkward, not even friendly. The girl continued to burn my nails from the friction of drilling to hard. I do not have sensitive hands. A few times she glanced up at me as if she knew she was drilling to hard and wanted to see if I noticed but never did she ease up or apologize. Instead of this being a pampering relaxing experience on my day off I was on the edge of my seat waiting for her to stop drilling. She was rough filing and even dusting the dust off my nails. I opted for gel polish and had it all over my finger tips on several nails. It looked as if I painted them myself. I'm normally a huge tipper having waited tables but I gave a small tip for them to split because of our awful experience. I did take picture of the polish that's all over my fingers if I'm able to up load them to this review I will. We will never go back. read more

I came in with my sister and there were three people working and only one other person in the place. The one young male (possibly owner's son) positioned me at the very end of the nail line, I was 6-8 tables away from my sister in an otherwise empty place. I asked if we could move so I could be next to her. He at first tried to say no, then shrugged his shoulders and said, "I guess..." Really is it that hard to move a bowl of warm water? No. But his 5 year old son was in the back room and he wanted to be near him. This is the only reason why I can think of this strange (and very unprofessional) behavior. He asked if I wanted a gel manicure. I asked if they have vinyl polish. He did not know what that was. (What professional manicurist does not know what Vinyl polish is?!) When I asked for a regular manicure he actually looked angry that I did not take the more expensive option. He began to do my nails. OMG... his hands were grimy. There was a layer of dirt under all his fingernails. DUDE... you work in a nail salon with tons of implements to clean your hands and nails. It was absolutely shocking and disgusting. Not to mention a health hazard. He gave me the most slapdash, "let's get it over with" minimum manicure of my natural born life. And I paid over $18 for the privilege not including tip. I was incredulous. Finally when I was drying, I asked if he had nail oil, this is standard in most places and it quickens the dry time. He did not know what this was!!! Again, what certified professional manicurist does not know the basic products of their trade. Honestly this whole place gives no F***s. This business does not try. On the nail that's missing 4 of my rhinestones are gone. Then they press their customers to take out cash when they have a card machine, just so they don't have to print out a receipt. DO NOT GO HERE!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! Stay clear away from this place if you don't want to be yelled at for simply asking for the "professional" to fix the service that YOU, the customer, is paying your hard-earned money for. I entered this place to get a simple full set. It was only two people working, a woman and a male. Both were rude but the male got BELLIGERENT with me when I calmly and nicely asked for him to fix the shape of my clearly crooked nails. He started yelling and telling me that my nail bed was crooked & that's why it looked that way. I remained calm and explained to him that I get my nails done every two weeks and they have never been this blatantly crooked. He started YELLING, throwing up his hands, and getting visibly upset with me and didn't want to finish my nails. I asked the lady, the only other left person working, to finish them and she informed me it would be another 45min until she finished her customer. She THEN went on to side with him, saying that I should've told him it was crooked before he put the acrylic on. Basically blaming me for his poor work. Excuse me??!!! REGARDLESS of the one layer of acrylic he placed on, the nail could've been reshaped. That's all I asked for. Instead I left with half "done" nails and had to go to another nail shop to get them finished. I went over to Lazio Nails to get my nails fixed/done. I didn't even tell the lady the details when I arrived to the new spot. SHE pointed out to me that my nails were crooked and that the nails on my right hand were longer than the ones on the left. SHE was telling me how horrible of a job the last person had done. THEN i explained to her what happened and she laughed stating "you didn't even tell me and I noticed it. Why couldn't he see it"?! I did not get the name of the nail tech but I am pretty sure they are all very good at what they do. The customers that were there at the moment were saying great things about all the techs. Its a hidden spot with great service, decent price, and great customer service. My experience at essence nail spa at one point was great until I made appointments twice and each time when I got there the nail technician who was supposed to do my nails was a no-show I still continued to go until I got my nails done one last time before vacation and while on vacation 4 nails broke I went in for repairs after calling and explained how upset I was my nails broke in less than a week . Not sure who the nail tech was that did my pedicure, I've never seen her before, but one of the worst experiences I've had. I normally walk out of there feeling great (which is the purpose of going). Today my feet hurt very badly. She scraped too much off the bottom of my feet, after I asked her to stop, and told her that she was going too deep. I had gel polish done on my nails and specifically asked about the price of the service and if the gel polish that I wanted would be the same price. I was told yes. The service was completed and I was charged more. As a customer, I asked why I was told it was the same price but it wasn't. The response I got from the owner and person who provided the service was it is more and he didn't feel like it would be a problem so he didn't say anything. I have him my credit card to pay for the service. He huffed and puffed and tossed my card on the table. I gave it back to him and he ran the card and walked away. Finding a good manicurist is like finding a needle in a haystack. We can spend hundreds of dollars before the right one comes along. I have been looking for the right one since May of this year and finally this weekend the nail gods answered my prayers!!!!! I walked into Essence Nail Spa and the first thing that I noticed is how clean it was. They have nice pedicure chairs (which I plan to do the next time I go). I wanted a long and narrow nail shape that went slightly in at the tip. A lot of manicurist get the shape wrong by making the nail too wide, thick, and uneven. I walked in one hour before closing and Ashley did my nails. Not only was Ashley kind and courteous, she also made my nails look absolutely gorgeous. Her boss was there and he was very nice as well. The next time I go in I will get designs and load up more pictures. It's good to see someone that takes pride in there work, Ashley is that girl. read more

They rush through your nails so quickly here. And it shows. Such a sloppy job. Why would you let someone leave your shop with nails that looked this bad? Oh, and when he did my fill in he had to dig up greenish spots under my nails that looked like mold so I looked it up and basically it's from them not properly sanitizing their equipment/not doing the fill in properly or else there wouldn't be air bubbles for bacteria to grow. (This was the only place I had gotten my nails done at in the last couple months) they also always have kids running around screaming and interrupting your pedicure or mani or whatever. I had a very disappointing experience. I was a walk in and waited 45 minutes (which I knew I'd have a 30 min wait). I had asked for a no chip mani and regular pedi. When it was my turn the guy brought me to the mani chair. He pulled out powder stuff so I kept questioning if this was the same as a gel no chip. He rushed through the manicure using tools that did not appear to be properly sanitized. He then took nail polish remover to 2 of my nails and said they weren't dry and had me sit under the UV lights. He started with the next customer. He then asked me to feel my own nails to see if it was dry. Didn't clean off the extra polish, didn't have me wash my hands and didn't apply any lotion. I had to remind him I was also getting a pedi which he seemed surprised about even though I checked that box when I signed in. So he stopped his next customer to do my pedicure. Upon washing my hands I let him know I wasn't a fan of the powder manicure and that it was all over my hands. He rushed through the pedicure and then when it came to pay he was charging me extra for the powder manicure saying that's what I asked for. I had never even heard of it before so I wouldn't have asked for it. That was one of the reasons I was drilling him with questions when he started with the powder. He walked away from me and told me to pay what I want and went to his next customer. So I went up to the counter to ask again how much it would be had he given me the gel mani like I had asked. I paid cash plus tip and left. I was too nice to skip the tip. Then realized my toe nails weren't straight and then polish was all over my toes too. To top it all off, my "no chip" chipped 16 hours later. If I wasn't rushed for a wedding and had to return back home (out of town) and wasn't afraid of unsanitary practices, I would've gone back to have them fix it. Needless to say, I will never go back when in town. My sister is also disappointed in my experience and will also find a new salon. read more

I went on a Tuesday and payed for a PINK ACRYLIC fill in, (pink acrylic is stronger then clear), that Friday I had 2 broken nails. I called and the staff there told me He was gone for 2 week back to Vietnam. They DID NOT EVEN CARE! I WAS ANGRY. I had to fly out that morning for the event. I don't even think they all are LICENCED! I haven't seen there license on there stations. Long story short, Hiy returned and I went up there. He was mad at me, and told me his GRANDMOTHER DIED AND I'M SELFISH BECAUSE I WANTED HIM TO FIX MY NAILS!!! OMG!! I pay $35.00 for a FILL IN, what is He talking about. I wouldn't even give this place one star. I received a gift card for this place for Christmas. I went in to get a full set done and Hai the owner was the one who did my nails. His eyes were blood shot red and he looked like he was high. He did my nails and I noticed he filed too much on a couple of them on the acrylic and my actual nail was exposed. I said something to him and he put some type of polish on them to fix them, however it didn't. I then go to pay using my gift card and it wouldn't work. He swiped it a few times and then just gave up and I had to pay for it out of my own pocket. I left very unhappy. I got home and told my fiancé what happened and he was upset (his father got me the gift card). He called the salon to talk to Hai to see what had happened. Hai yelled at him, called me a liar, and put a costumer on the phone to talk to my fiancé and yelled in the back round "I don't want to talk to him" as he and the other nail tech Ashley talk about myself and my fiancé.
