My massage was rescheduled for 15 minutes later and when I arrived there was a girl there. I asked her if I need to sign any forms and she said no because I had done it online. She directed me into the room and I told her where my problem areas are and she began the massage. Halfway through the massage, she realized that she was massaging the wrong person and I told her that I saw my appointment had been rescheduled and assumed that they needed to change the masseuse. She went out of the room and supposedly talked with Tim and asked how he wanted to sort it out. She came back in and continued massaging me. The girl who massaged me give me an okay massage and was able to work some of the knots out however I still felt a strain in my left shoulder the next day. She seemed either unprofessional or frazzled or both and also mentioned that they don't get paid off as much from Groupon's. Mentioning that to me seemed highly unprofessional and unnecessary. After the massage it was very awkward and she did apologize for the mixup however I could tell she did not want to be there. The environment itself was not very relaxing either because I could hear the cars go by outside in the room as well as people talking outside of the door. When I left that evening there were also several stray cats wondering in the parking lot and that was not attractive. Needless to say I will not be going back and would not recommend this place.

The second visit gave me the opposite feeling of the first one. This time, I made an earlier appointment and was the only person in the waiting area. Score! After being greeted and told that the doctor would see me soon, that was the last interaction I had with anyone there. The two staff members at the front desk busied themselves looking at pictures in one of their phones. At one point, Dr. Palmer came out to ask a question of one of the staff members. He never greeted or acknowledged me. No one seemed interested in engaging with a patient. 15 minutes went by with me still being the only person in the waiting area, and I finally left. I understand that 15 minutes isn't forever in a doctor's office. However, not being acknowledged as a human being or engaged with, or even being offered water (there were several bottles at the front desk, but no indication that I could help myself) -- those details don't make me feel valued as a patient or customer. Other issues that may or may not be a red flag for you: Chiropractic Center of Lakeland has a no-masks-required policy, even though Polk County is getting more COVID-19 cases per day in Summer 2021 than last April when everything was shut down. Staff members don't wear masks, either. A door sign says that you can ask a staff member to wear a mask if you're uncomfortable, but who wants to be that guy? Every other clinical professional in the country is wearing a mask; why should it be on the patient to request that? Another chiropractor I visited takes every patient's temperature. That, and masks on staff, should be a minimum. Maybe not in a retail store or on a roller coaster, but definitely in a clinical environment. The last issue is that some of the treatment at Chiropractic Center of Lakeland is done in a large, open bullpen-style area, meaning more than one person can be getting treatment simultaneously. If you have privacy or modesty concerns, that might be a dealbreaker for you. The dealbreaker for me was an indifferent (to me) staff that doesn't respect my time or go the extra mile during a pandemic.
