Dr. Alex explained the cause of my chronic shoulder pain as he worked to alleviate my symptoms. He gave me homework stretches to help with my recovery. I finally decided to visit a chiropractor to address some leg and hip issues which have been getting worse. This office happened to be located in my work complex, and I was thrilled to read that they were so highly rated. My first appointment was easily made, and the next day I had my first visit. Dr. Danielle was thorough and precise, and I loved that she explained everything she was doing and why. She utilized a variety of techniques which all combined to give me a multi-faceted approach to healing. She was also very helpful in recommending specific vitamins and stretches that would help with my issues. Most visits I start out having a machine (Hill Laboratories HF54) attached to me, which sends hands-free ultrasound currents to the problem area for about 8 minutes. Then I go straight to Dr. Danielle's chiropractic table, and she adjusts me in a few spots, then she uses something similar to an electric massager and/or an activator adjustment tool. I'm usually in and out in 20 minutes. The entire staff is friendly and efficient, the cost is reasonable, and my visits are quick and helpful. The office also has a masseuse on staff, but I have not utilized him yet. Currently my treatment plan is twice a week visits, but even after my issues are resolved, I still intend to be a regular client. read more

Optilife Chiropractic is where it's at if you need a chiropractor! This place is truly a saving grace! Not only did they get me in the office ASAP, but I found some immediate relief. Dr. Danielle Hoeffner has blessed my life with her hands. I pinched a nerve in my back and was in the type of pain that I can only describe being as intense as my worst contractions when I was in labor with my twins. Dr. Danielle was very honest with me about relief expectations. She told me relief could be as short as 5min or it could be much longer. I instantly gained some temporary relief from my pain during my first visit and was scheduled for a follow-up that same week. By my second visit I was a completely new person. I was miserable before coming into the office my first time and left my second visit feeling great and so thankful that I could move without being in excruciating pain. This review is for Dr. Amanda Metzger of Optilife Chiropractic, located on Gunn Highway in Tampa. A bit of background on my prior chiropractic experience with doctors in Northern Virginia 17 years ago- brief consultation period of 20 minutes after reviewing my medical history, normal screening of vitals, adjustments of neck & back that you can hear & feel slight snapping sounds, and finally payment, see ya in two days or so for more of the same. What occurred at Optilife Chiropractic with Dr. Amanda was anything but what I had experienced prior. Upon driving to the Gunn highway office that is in close proximity to Sicles high school, I was greeted with genuine courtesy by receptionist MacKenzie, Dr. Danielle Hoeffner, and her Golden Retriever, Cooper. I had emailed about 10 pages of background information to Dr. Metzger prior to my visit, which cut about 30 minutes of admin time. I may have waited only about 10 minutes due to Dr. Amanda reviewing all of my details with full comprehension prior to meeting her. Upon walking back to her office with a table in the middle of the room, I fully expected a similar beginning to my prior Virginia experience with another doctor. Nope! Dr. Amanda conducted an initial consultation of my records that probably took about twenty minutes, then proceeded to give an overview of what I should expect from her. She indicated that every chiropractic practitioner has their own style, which turned out to be the most important thing that she she said during the entire consultation & chiropractic procedure (extremely important, actually). After the review of my records, she started to record my vitals through the use of machines that utilize biometrics. The biometrics were obviously machines that were extremely accurate & revealing, due to how they recorded how much weight you are placing on your feet + legs, body temperature within your pressure points, and around other areas of the central nervous system. While I knew that xrays were next, the biometrical procedure of these machines yielded an impression that there would not be any guesstimates as to what was happening on the inside of my body- that every single body measurement would be as precise as German engineering with its remarkable attention to detail. Keep in mind that the thorough consultation, biometrical body measurements, and xrays were well before the actual chiropractic procedure on the table. Fortunately for me, Dr. Amanda had the ability to explain the aforementioned three major elements with clarity and precision. There wasn't any confusion, nor ambiguity in her presentation of precise factual information that was derived. And of course, the table. The epicenter of all chiropractic treatment. As Dr. Amanda had suggested earlier within the consultation, every practitioner has a different style. As I lay face down on a table, Dr. Amanda made her back & neck adjustments by elevating certain sections of the table, and applying a minimal amount of force with each adjustment. There was not any snapping, bending, forcing body weight on my upper & lower back sections. Quite frankly, I barely even felt Dr. Amanda's hands at all. There was something about the table elevations & gravity that seemed to relieve certain areas of my back. The same could also be said about my neck, of which Dr. Amanda used a special chrome tool that I can only describe as looking comparable to a garden hose water nozzle (she told me what it was called, yet I forgot). This unique tool amazingly helped give my neck a full range of motion, which I previously lacked prior to this appointment due to stress & age. After getting up from the table, I felt different. Slightly fatigued, yes, but this had something to do with muscle & nerve adjustment more than anything. Yet minutes later, I noticed a positive change within my neck position, in addition to my shoulders. It appeared as if much of the muscle tension had been subdued to almost the point of non-existence. In describing Dr. Amanda's work in two words, I would have to say this: remarkably thorough. These are the two words that I said to myself after leaving Optilife Chiropractic that day. While it is obvious that Dr. Amanda is both knowledgeable and passionate about her practice, her methodology was neither overwhelming or underwhelming when it came to ensuring what was in the patient's best interests for chiropractic treatment. Her style of adjustment suited me, as did her attention to detail & clarity when explaining her methodology (consultation, biometrics, xrays) prior to the imminent adjustment protocol. Even afterwards, I was quite grateful in her body maintenance recommendations of a few stretch methods, and by not crossing my legs (that will be a difficult habit to break). Altogether, my expectations for Dr. Amanda's treatment were certainly high, given my prior experience with Virginia chiropractic doctors from 17 years before. Let me start by saying how phenomenal Dr Danielle Hoeffner is. I've only been here twice but I love it! Not only is she personable and charismatic she is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I decided to go to the chiropractor because of a back pain I've been putting off for years, but it was bothering me more than usual and decided to try Optilife. What an investment! Within two days not only my back pain has certainly improved, but she also found the reason behind my migraines and those have decreased significantly! I was hesitant to go to a chiropractor but my back pain became consuming my life. Dr. Metzger has helped me SO much. My back is finally feeling better. She is kind, thorough, and professional. Worst place I've ever been. Dr. Danielle saw me as a walk in, and barely even asked what was wrong. She didn't do any testing or ask any of the right questions. She cracked my back and my neck a couple of times and it did practically nothing. I was in more pain leaving than when I got there. She had a poor attitude and no smile. She acted like I was a nuisance. She rescheduled me for Saturday at 9 and upon arriving, the doors were locked and no one was there. The unprofessionalism is extremely disappointing, and I will never return to this place again. I do not recommend this place to anyone who actually needs chiropractic help. read more

5 stars for Dr Erica, she is so knowledgeable and professional. I'm super happy that I found a great chiropractor so quickly after moving to the area. 3 stars overall is because Dr Danielle. I had to make a last minute appt and she was the only available, no big deal. Upon arrival there was no introduction, no "nice to meet you", no smile, and she literally looked at me and inquired "what's wrong with you today". She then adjusted me without asking any questions or doing a thorough exam. I stood up and could tell there was more to do. She obliged but I felt like I was inconveniencing her. This level of unprofessionalism is simply unacceptable. There are thousands of chiropractors to choose from here. I've been a patient at Optilife for almost a month now, and as of today, I've had the pleasure of receiving care from both Dr Danielle and Dr Erica. I've also met both front office girls, Jordan and Paige. And as of today, I've also had a massage with their new massage therapist.... So I feel like I can leave a well rounded review. When I came to Optilife a month ago, I was severely suffering. My body had taken a major hit from delivering my son 5 months before, and my body literally felt like it was breaking down and working against me. I went from being a super active 30 year old, to feeling like I'm an 85 year old. My bones were hurting and popping, I was hobbling to walk, and my muscles ached every moment of every day. I was miserable and it was interfering with my life, not to mention, interfering with being a mother to 2 active boys. I met with Dr Danielle. She makes you feel at home with her sweet mannerisms and positive attitude. We did X-rays and some testing and she showed me exactly what the problem was. We started treatment right away. 3 times a week, and now we are down to twice a week. There were times where I was sure I was doomed to feel this way forever, but Dr Danielle always encouraged me to hang in there and promised we were on the upswing. And she was right! I suffered for 2 long months before walking into Optilife, and finally, I'm not dreading every day. I went into Opti Life with an appointment with Dr Danielle. I was crooked so out of alignment and hurting bad. I have some stenosis in my neck and herniated discs in my lumbar spine. I was a little skeptical because I usually take care of my back problem with massage. I absolutely love Dr. Erica. I came in with whiplash and she has given me the best care I have ever received at ANY doctor's office. She can often fit me in quickly when I am in a lot of pain from over doing it during my recovery but she never lectures me on how I should take it easy. About 6 months ago I went to stretch while laying in bed and felt a pop in my neck that resulted in some serious uncomfort. I started coming in about once per week in the first trimester of pregnancy. Dr. Erica was able to get rid of pregnancy related tailbone pain and later round ligament pain with therapy treatments. Chiropractic care has helped this pregnancy go as smoothly as possible.
