Bought the Groupon for this place on late last year. I tried to make an appointment a couple of weeks afterwards. I called the 916- 455-1975 number Groupon have provided and it was no longer in service. I have called the (916) 753-5906 number that is associated with their Yelp page at least 5 times and the mail box is full - It also never rings a line. I have no idea how to contact this business, but it's not for lack of trying. Groupon kindly refunded me the money and I went to another place to get massages. read more

I got a great deal through Groupon but it's a nightmare getting an appointment. I read the mixed reviews and thought it couldn't be that bad but it was. When you try calling no one picks up and you're unable to leave a voicemail because the mailbox is full. I got in contact through messaging the business through Facebook. But it took me almost three weeks to book my appointment. Granted, this was during December so I know it's a busy time, but if that's the case put a note that the business will be closed. The massage was fine, I felt less tense after but if there's anyone at all in the business you can hear them which takes away from the experience. 7/15: Greatly disappointed at this place. I scheduled a 90min massage with them, arrived on time, only for them to tell me that the massage therapist, Melissa wasn't available. The person I spoke to was very apologetic, and even offered a $10 discount and a free facial. She re-booked my appt for today and ensured I'd get a phone call from Melissa confirming my appt. Obviously, I never got a confirmation call. This is unacceptable and UNPROFESSIONAL. Will not be going back to this place, and I urge everyone else to be more cautionary when booking appts here--because even if you think you booked one through one of their staff members AND show up in person to make an appointment, that doesn't mean you'll get one. Ridiculous that you even call yourselves a business when you all cannot do something as simple as honoring your booked appointments. Made a huge mistake and bought a three treatment Groupon with Melissa. The massage itself was average. She'd had to reschedule, but so had I, so I didn't think much of that at the time. As it was a Groupon for prenatal massage I thought the table would have been more comfortable and it wasn't, just a hard standard massage table, laying on my side with a pillow in between my legs, disappointing. I let her know the areas that hurt, but she clearly had a pattern she followed and my shoulders and feet were left dissatisfied. The hot rocks were really, really hot (and I like hot, so this threw me off) and didn't seem to do much. She wasn't friendly, just sort of indifferent, but I didn't think much of it because everyone should be allowed to be how they are, right? Aaaand then for the past month I haven't been able to make contact. And I'm pregnant. And I need a massage... and she's not making herself available for one. I looked up the reviews on Yelp before I bought the Groupon and it looks like since then I'm not the only one having these issues. Once my first massage was done in July it was impossible to redeem the two others--I left 5 messages and called multiple more times, but even when I left information on specific appointment times I only got one generic message during my work hours and no other attempts to contact me, and even this didn't respond to my specific appointment time requests. It got to the point that today (at the end of September) Groupon actually credited my remaining certificate amount... even they knew it was time to give up. (This also bothers me because she may be keeping money for a service she didn't render, once a Groupon is redeemed it's gone.) I support small businesses. I hate writing bad reviews for them. But what I hate worse is people taking advantage of people who are pregnant and won't provide a service to them after they already have their money. Even as I write this I regret having to--but the last thing I want is someone like me to shell out $100 and get ripped off like I did. Please beware. Whatever response the owner has doesn't really matter--if you don't want to take my word for it you'll see for yourself. I redeemed a Groupon back in February 2019 for a prenatal massage and purchased a prepaid package of 3 prenatal massages directly from her after my appointment. I redeemed one massage in May 2019 and had to reschedule my June 2019 session because I began having pregnancy complications. I wanted a refund for the two remaining massages at that point since it was so difficult to get in touch with her back in June. I don't even know where to begin. Iv never been so upset with a small business before in my entire life. I wouldn't have even given this place a half star if it was available. I'll start off by saying this prenatal massage that was purchased on Groupon was a gift from a friend. The previous one she had purchased dicked me around as well so she had to get a refund but then came across this place. I read the reviews and understand that Melissa has had a problem with having to reschedule on quite a few people. I spoke with Melissa back on April 20th (two months ago) she explained to me that I needed a doctors note which took my OB/GYN two weeks to get to me. Since then I had went through quite the unfortunate events. I was in dire need of this massage & just wanted to relax & relieve some stress. By the time I was capable of making an appointment I spoke with Melissa again (just yesterday 6/25 she told me she was booked up for the next two weeks & was only available the next day. 2pm being the latest appointment she could take. I then rescheduled another appointment I had else where so I could be there to receive my prenatal massage I was dying for. Unfortunately I'm not off until 2pm & I work about 30-40 minutes away from the location. So I had to get off an hour early to be there on time. I arrived 20 minutes early but the door was locked & the open sign was still out. The lights were off but there aroma therapy lamp was still on. I figured maybe she's just a 1 person therapist & is in the back finishing up a massage. She could have very well been on a 30 minute lunch beak too. So I waited, I called to inform her I was there early & waiting outside. It's 92 degrees outside & the benches were placed in the sun. I traveled 40 minutes to get there & needed to use the rest room & had very little water to drink. Mind you I'm 5 months pregnant & in my black leggings waiting patiently. 2pm came around & still there was no sign of her. I called once more but was forwarded to her voicemail. I waited for another 25 minutes (2:25) & was getting ready to leave because I was feeling dehydrated & sick from being in the heat. She called me seconds later & I let her talk for about 2 minutes before even saying a word as she was giving me some excuse as to why I wasn't given a courtesy call. She said something came up & she's called everyone in her schedule book but don't know how she skipped me. She then asked to reschedule me which made me very upset due to the fact that I had been there waiting for nearly an hour, I took off from work an hour early so not only did I lose out on money, I waisted my gas traveling 40 minutes there, & waisted my time. I had just spoke with her the day before she knew what my situation was with work, the distance in which I was about to travel & also knew I was pregnant. She has no respect for other people & was very unprofessional about her business & the way she spoke. She tried offering me a free massage but explained to me that she was all booked up & had to remind about 5 times that there where cancellations all the time. So the chances of her doing this to me again where very high. It wasn't about the price of a $70 massage that I was worried about it was all the unnecessary obstacles she made me jump through & the lack of respect she had given regarding the entire situation. Then when I asked what day she was available she was very adamant on having me get a refund from Groupon. I had to hang up. I sat outside the place for another 20 minutes crying in my car because after everything I had been through the massage therapist was the last person I had excepted this from. All she kept saying was I'm sorry for the inconvenience were a small business & i don't even work at that place i just do the scheduling but she is clearly the Business owner making excuses & the only good reviews you see probably come from her family & friends. She can't keep a clientele doing these unprofessional ongoing occurrences & that's probably why she was having trouble with her business license as she told me on the phone "I'm out here trying to figure out what's going on with our business license where having problems with we had to leave early today". Good luck with that Melissa. I'm sure you won't be open for much longer. So after my review earlier Melissa has the audacity to call me after normal business hours (5:00pm) to be sarcastic and says "I just want to thank you for your bad review, it's only making my business look better". After knowing how upset I am she calls to make me more upset. She didn't have the decency to give me a courtesy call 1 hour before my appointment but has plenty of time to review comments on yelp? I love my prenatal massage therapy. Melissa is highly competent in her work. I have been going with Essential Treatment starting with my 22nd week of pregnancy till now, I am 33 weeks. It has been so helpful with my increasing back pain and soreness. Melissa uses beautiful aromatherapy what helps to relax when you inhale and exhale. I love their moisturizing mists, it is so refreshing! After each therapy I feel so relaxed and ready to have my nap time! This is a small business place, however very cozy, comfortable, and peaceful. Couple times I had scheduling issues, but I received apologies and extra beautiful treatments. Overall experience is wonderful. I would have loved to have written this review about a massage, but, unfortunately, this will be about business practice or rather the lack of. I purchased a Groupon for a prenatal massage and called on December 14th to book it. I had wanted something before Christmas as I would be in town then, but the massage therapist on the phone stated she would not be available until the 29th. I was okay with this and mentioned I was from out of town and that I would still be in town at that date. I told her this would be for the prenatal massage found on Groupon. She asked me how many weeks and I told her 19, and that was that. Massage booked. The 29th comes around and I arrive at the spa just before 10. She greets me and reads the appointment off, "Ok I have you down for a Swedish". "No,' I said. "A prenatal." She asks me how many weeks to which I once again told her 19. That's when her face changed, which is never good, and she says, " Do you have a doctor's note? I only take prenatals before 25 weeks with a doctor's note". I told her that no one ever mentioned this to me and that I live out of town. There is no way for me to get a note today. She then went on a long, rambling explanation about California law needing a doctor's note and how she needs to protect her business, but if I wanted to she would take me back, but if I had a miscarriage it was on her....what?! First of all I'm not entirely sure what she was planning to do that would cause a miscarriage at 19 weeks, but ok better safe than sorry. Second of all are you sure it's law that I need a note? I looked it up and couldn't find anything. Am I looking in the wrong place? If that's the case, why exactly was I allowed to have one at 16 weeks without a note at Disney's Grand Californian? Disney for goodness' sake! They're going to cover their butt anyway they can (didn't mention this to her, but I should have). Third of all if you were so concerned about your business and your career, why exactly did you offer to take me back? I'm still scratching my head on this one. We have a brief conversation with me telling her she needs to be more diligent and she telling me she was and it was confirmed. It was not confirmed. I told her no one ever called me to confirm this appointment. If they had, I could have gotten my doctor's note and I would have made sure it wasn't a Swedish massage like she had had written down. Then came more of the same asinine rambling from her and her telling me it was really easy to get my money back from Groupon. For her sake I hope she is speaking from personal rather than business experience on that one. At that point I was super annoyed and left telling her I would be getting my money back and would definitely not be returning. I got home and called Groupon who confirmed that there is nothing in the fine print about needing a doctor's note. They said they would be adding that on their end. BUYER BEWARE: This place is a joke and a SCAM!!! I bought my 2 vouchers last year. The First time I booked with Melissa I tried to book for me and my husband and she said she couldn't book us both on the same weekend. So I just scheduled mine she told me she would send me a email and call I never got either one and I was moving cities at the time and was so busy but i talked to her and told her when we scheduled the appt. I would need the reminder call To which she said it would be no problem. But she forgot never called or emailed. Then she calls me after the appt. Time to lecture me. The massage was extremely amateur and really a waste of money but here I bought 2 of them. I didn't feel the want to go back but i had the 2nd voucher so 2 months later I booked the second one. When I got there for my 2nd appt she double booked me. She offered me a "complementary massage"...lol the thing is that voucher was about to expire and she told me to mark the voucher used and she would give that massage anytime. So mind you it's been 8 months now and I finally called to get my 87 yr. Old grandmother in. And she told me she had moved locations at that point of the appt. I asked her for the new address to which she replied she would CALL me the day before to confirm the appt and give me the address. And guess what she never called to confirm or give me the address then has the nerve to call me to complain about me not coming !!! She said i could have checked online which I did and it had her old address and she should have told me that from the start. Not that she was going to call and give me the address. Now she says she cant honor the voucher that she had me redeem. She also went on this huge rant about how I've been a no call no show but she's the one who never follows through and double booked me. Forth time around and I get to leave beyond relaxed. I've been going to Melissa for my regular massages and now prenatal massages which are amazing!! I work on my feet five days a week and my lower back kills me as well as those painful calf cramps that are new to me since I've gotten pregnant. She always makes sure to massage my calf's throughly since that's where most of my pain is. Always ask if there is new pain or new areas that I'd like for her to give more attention to. My friend gifted me a prenatal massage and I was so excited for it. The lady gave me a 1:15pm appointment because she said she needed to set up after her previous appointment. I showed up at 1:19, couldn't find the suite, so I called her. She called me back 10 minutes later and I was already inside the building. She tried to say I was 30 mins late. She obviously thought she had given me a 1pm, but wouldn't admit it. She said she had already take someone else in. So even if I would have shown up right at 1:15, it would have been late for her because of her scheduling mistake. It was extremely frustrating that she tried to blame me. If she wouldn't have written down the incorrect time in her schedule, she still could have called me at 1:15 to see if I was a no show. I would have gladly let her reduce my massage time by the number of minutes I was late, given I'm 35 weeks pregnant and REALLY needed the massage. She made me cry from the anger and frustration. Horrible customer service. I purchased a Groupon for a regular massage about 2 years ago because I wanted to try the place out before I did full price. I'm currently in my third trimester of pregnancy and received a Groupon for a prenatal massage as a gift. When I called to schedule an appointment, all that was asked was whether I could get a doctor's note, which I did. However, when I arrived for my appointment, she recognized me and stated that because I had been there before she would not honor the Groupon because only one is allowed per person. She also stated, "It says it in the fine print. That's why I asked on the phone if you had been here before." One, that was never mentioned or asked on the phone call. Two, the fine print clearly says that the Groupon can be repurchased every 30 days. Three, I didn't purchase this. I received it as a gift and the person had no idea whether or not I had ever been there before. Four, I have only ever been for a regular massage, never a prenatal massage. I literally tried to explain all of this, but she didn't care and I had to leave. Definitely won't ever be returning or recommending this business again to friends. My suggestion is read reviews BEFORE purchasing the groupon, I made the mistake to read them after. It took a week of voice message and a text for Melissa the owner to return the call to schedule an appt. I booked a 60 min pre-natal massage for 10:15 on Monday. I arrived 10 min early and although her sign and facebook page says open at 10:00 it was closed; I waited until 10:15 to call and it went to the generic voicemail. She returned my phone call and said she wasn't sure what happened but she didn't have me down and she confirms her appts on Saturdays, and she wasn't in area and wasn't expecting any appts until 2pm. She said she has a lot of groupon people and its hard to keep up and if I would like to reschedule. I told her i was afraid she was going to do this after reading two other reviews where shes done this same thing, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and had initially scheduled my appt anyways. I drove 25 min and took time off of work for this appt. shes extremely unprofessional, I called groupon to report what seems to be a pattern of her business behavior and to request a refund(not credit) and will book with a more reputable business. I understand mistakes or oversights happen however I am the third person who has actually written a review with the same complaint, I'm sure there's more out there. I've had 4 prenatal massages with Melissa now throughout my pregnancy (last one today at 37 weeks) and I have been so pleased with my experience. The spa is small and intimate and Melissa is attentive and always makes sure I'm comfortable. The massage is relaxing and a great value. Melissa did an amazing job! The massage was really relaxing and she used great products. She seems to be in high demand and gets busy, but was nice enough to reschedule me prior to my appointment so she didn't have to rush between clients.
