She brings these skills to her therapy, and YOU need to be clear about what you're asking for. She is practiced in - among other methods -deep tissue massage; if you don't know what that is, or did not ask,-posting a whiney complaint that "she hurt my back" shows a lack of understanding on your part. Yes, Deep Tissue Massage can hurt, initially; if you can withstand a few minutes of that minor "pain" you will find that the pain that brought you there has been alleviated. If the "pain" of her skilled treatments are beyond your tolerance - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE This is not for everyone, until you realize the benefit she provides, So Please do not disparage her knowledge and skill with a comment based on ignorance. One 30 minute session changed the chronic aching in BOTH legs and BOTH shoulders to the point where i stopped blaming my joints for the searing spasms and missteps into the realization that the major nerves affected EVERYTHING i was feeling. The first (approximately) 10 minutes were spent on my feet; not gonna say it didn't hurt, it was like standing on a stone directly under your heels. The good news? THAT discomfort simply left my body, and it vanished quickly. She knew it before i did. What I loved was that he spoke with me throughout the session. He explained what he was doing as he was doing it, and why it was going to help. My focal point was my upper body. Neck, traps, head it was all tense. He literally went knot by knot releasing tension. Asking me my pain level every step of the way. It hurt I won't lie, but it was a good hurt. What this session made me realize was that our bodies are like cars. We get it brand new off the lot, and as time progresses our tires get bald, our alignment gets thrown off, we need recalibration, etc. One thing that he said is that this tension is not new, it's not months old, this tension has accumulated since birth, and that hit so deep! He did focus on a certain area, but he also did a full body massage. He is so thorough, wise, and is quick to send along information he feels will help. It was interesting - my masseuse actually seemed much more effective and precise using their feet/toes than their hands! Pricing (as of 2019 October) was as follows: $40 plus tip for 30 minutes $50 plus tip for 60 minutes $60 plus tip for 90 minutes ~$10 each for adding on another masseuse, scented oils, heat, etc. Interestingly, you pay before the massage, and then tip afterward, much like Gentle Massage across the street (which seems to offer almost identical services). She's so good that at one point I was going to her weekly just to release all the stress I'd build up in my body over the week. Times back then were really stressful for me. I remember going on my lunch hour when she was working down the street from my office. I remember those good o' days. I wish she still had her shop down the street, then I would go so much more often. Now she's moved to a shop down the way from the Arden Mall, if you know the area she's closer to the Nordstrom Rack, a few streets behind them. This new location isn't so convienent for me anymore, but I have to love it as it has fabulous parking. They have there own private lot so there is always spaces available. The building is new and fresh. They recently got all new floors and benches so it's even more freshened up now. Baanpo Thai Massage will be moving down the hall to an even bigger space soon. You're going to love it as it's so much more spacious then there currently location a few feet away. Here is their description of the Thai Herbal Ball Massage : For centuries, the people of Thailand have used herbs such as zingiber, lemongrass, caffer-lime, pommelo peel, tanaka, turmeric ect. to accelerate healing of the body. It was very relaxing and I enjoyed the massage a lot. I always forget how much I love the Thai Herbal Ball Massage and usually get the Thai Combo Massage. A Thai Combo Massage is half Thai massage and half Swedish massage. It's also very good, but totally different. I also love the hot stone massage. I used to get that all the time in the cooler months. I'd love to get one now, but I worry about them getting too hot giving it as it's so hot outside. Though the room and building have air conditioning so it's never too hot inside and it's always the perfect temperature. Tammy did a great job on my Thai Herbal Ball Massage and I highly recommend her and the Thai Herbal Ball Massage.

I like the fact that the therapist asked for permission to walk on me (which I gladly accepted the offer) and continued to check on me if the pressure was okay. It was everything I needed.
