We used a travel agency to book our recent trip to London and they booked private tours and transportation thru essentially London.
Transportation:
We had 3 rides with Graham: 1) from the airport to our hotel 2) to and from the Warner bros studio for our Harry Potter day and 3) to the Eurostar to catch our train to Paris.
He was absolutely lovely and we had so much fun getting to know him. He got us to and from our destinations safely and taught us a lot about London along the way. Our 3 kids took to him instantly as well too!
Private tours:
We had 3 private tours with a lovely guide, Jennifer. Jennifer is from NYC, but has lived in London for 30 years so good combo of understanding where we are from and local knowledge.
Day 1:
4 hour tour of Tower of London, which ended up going a little longer since there was so much to see and talk about (+ longer summer lines). We probably could have done this without Jennifer, but the info she gave us added a lot to the adventure.
Day 2:
William Churchill Museum. This was my history loving husbands highlight and Jennifer was a wealth of info. If I could do it again I would probably send my husband alone with my history loving son and take the kids elsewhere because I think it was a little too much history for them (and me), but Jennifer made it as interesting as possible...and again so knowledgeable.
Day 3:
London highlights including Westminster abbey, palace, changing of the guards, Big Ben and more. It was a 3-4 hour tour and I personally loved walking around London and taking it all in. And once again Jennifer knew everything. The kiddos got a little restless on this one so with kids i would probably condense into 2 hours tops, but highly recommend the full tour for adults.
Both Graham and Jennifer were great east to get along with, flexible and prompt (actually always early). Overall, very impressed with this tour company! I do think it may have been a few too many guided tours for my kids, but Jennifer made it all as interesting as possible for them. read more
