Some of our regular buyers were not happy either with the 10% Buyer's Premium they were charged.. He was quite rude to our staff and rude with the buyers at the auction. Since then we have not used his service. Mr. Lepak keeps sending us emails threatening us to use his services or he will have to report us to the State of Hawaii. Which he did. We obtained our auctioneer license (which was a very easy process) so we would no longer have to deal with Mr. Lepak. Mr. Lepak continues to harass us and his way of doing business is to intimidate and bully businesses into using him. My advice.....obtain your auction license for $100 with the State of Hawaii and get a bond for $500 as required by the state. The whole process takes less than 4 hours. Trust me when I say that the money/time you spend will be worth not having the aggravation of dealing with Mr. Lepak.

He was nice enough to let them put a down pmt and pay the balance within one year, by April 2012. Because of my love for the business I wanted to remain with the company. I tried to teach them everything I knew about the business, but they "knew it all" when really, they didn't know anything! They were extremely rude to me so I left the company in August, just 4 mos later. Since then, I have heard numerous complaints from former customers who got "ripped off". Not only that but they still owe my mother for the purchase, a fairly large balance that was supposed to be paid within one year, My dad passed away in April 2012, before he died he was worried that they wouldn't pay. It's been almost 2 years! My mother had to get a lawyer, still didn't receive the money owed for the sale of Paradise Auction. They ran the business into the ground with their greedy ways. Putting reserves on items that didn't have one, I mean hello....? At auction, you don't make money if you dont sell. If you put a reserve or "minimum" price on everything, nothing will sell. It is a shame that they tarnished the reputation that my dad had worked so hard for. A previous customer of Paradise Auction who admired my dad (Mike Schmidt) decided to start his own Auction Co. and asked me to come aboard because of my years of expertise. I was hesitant at first, because of how AC Demello treated me but seeing his passion and hearing how he wanted to keep it the same as my dad convinced me to give it a try. Our first Auction was in November, 2013 I am so glad I am back at it again, I really missed it. I felt I had to write something here because of the fact that they gave people a bad taste in their mouth with the way they ran the company. They are heartless, cruel and cold. This company does not care and will not take appropriate steps to rectify what they supervised. When I denied insurance, I did not sign up for this company removing my door. What this company did to me was an extreme violation of my life damaging my belongings and everything I own. Their response on the BBB was complete mainland aggression and their corporate office running from the problem. The employee on duty the night of the vandalism tried to make excuses that everyone should know Extra Space Storage in Kona has rats and I must be from New York if I don't know that. But the issue at hand is that employees threw over thousands of dollars of boxes onto leather couches and new washer and dryer. I am a teacher in the community and thanks to this business my items are damaged which took me many years of my career to save for. This company has put me in tears and I dearly regret ever doing business here. This is some of the poorest business practice I have ever experienced from a large company.
