They provided free water bottles, dry bags, and even complimentary snacks. At the end of our trip, we were surprised with free ice cream, which was such a nice touch! The kayaks were clean and in great condition, and the staff was very helpful in getting us set up and answering our questions. We had a wonderful time paddling through Las Olas and Fort Lauderdale, enjoying the beautiful scenery and waterways. So, this is kind of a follow up to my review of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. While the park has…read moremany things to explore, the kayak, canoe, and paddle board rentals are handled by Park and Ocean. Located a short walk from the first parking lot, Park and Ocean provides some much needed shade and refreshments during the South Florida summer. I had never been here before, so I arrived a little early to check the place out and reserve kayaks for my friends and I. The young lady at the desk was extremely helpful in explaining all the possible options, safety measures, and pricing. She let me know how to get down to the launch area and that there would be lockers for the things we didn't want to get wet, which turned out to be extremely helpful. We went down to the launch and were saddled with great kayaks. The lake is pretty much a straight line, so it's very good for practicing, beginners, and nice scenery. There is a little secret passage which can provide needed shade as well. We planned to have lunch there, but by the time we got done and completely rained on, the restaurant wasn't open yet. So, we used the walkway to access the beach until it was time. The restaurant boasts great local beer on tap and delicious cocktails, as well as elevated bar food and seafood options. I really enjoyed the conch fritters, which were well seasoned and flavorful. Be careful if you don't like spicy food. The young lady who was so helpful in the morning with kayak bookings also told us that the park puts on a reptile exhibition at one, so we were able to take the kids to check out. Their website…read moreis a bit confusing and it appeared we had to complete a boating certification and spent some time that morning completing it before we arrived. Turns out it was only for jet skies. Regardless, we had fun, stayed safe, and used our newly acquired PWC knowledge to quiz each other while on the water. If you are renting jet skies, complete the test before going and don't give the employees a hard time about it... it keeps everyone safe, and more selfishly, it speeds up the line to get equipment.

The mangroves tour is a beautiful experience in Nature. Our guides were not great. There was an older woman in the group who could not keep up and only after I expressed my concern about her did they double back and help her. No kayaking instruction, no nature instruction other than what not to touch under the mangroves. The guide played music and paddled away over and over at a rate that left the novice paddlers far behind. Consider checking skill levels of the group, stopping for regular check-ins, perhaps teaching about nature a bit?

Few days later I receive an unauthorized charge for $1689 and then another for $1210. I let them know I needed to be credited back weeks ago as I was wrongly charged for someone else's orders and they have made zero effort to let me know what's going on. They say they don't save your credit card info but thats a lie. It's been over a month since I let them know what happened and they have offered zero help in returning funds to my credit card. I would advise everyone to shop elsewhere unless they want to live the nightmare I have by using them. 99% percent of companies out there would've easily seen they've charged my card in error twice instead other party who requested their service and would've credited back my card weeks ago. Its incredible that this company operates the way it does, horrible customer service.
