Don't go here unless you want to sit around in a nasty restaurant for an hour waiting on sub par cold food. The chips were even stale. How do you mess up a BLT? At first me and my wife were hesitant on trying this place due to all the bad reviews we saw. We're new to the area and decided to take a chance. We went on Valentines Day for a dinner date. Walking in, the waitress was very happy to greet us and tended to us very quickly. Chips and salsa were very good. We ordered the #11 I believe. The order came fast and boy was it good. There enchiladas and crispy taco and rice and beans were better than anything we've tried in El Campo. It was a 30min drive for us but it was a nice drive and it was totally worth the trip. All in all the food was great and the service was perfect and the prices were very fair. There's nothing better than walking into a place and the people there being appreciative of your business. Oh and the cook even came out and was very friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone. They Definitely made regulars out of us. We will definitely be returning for more great food and friendly service. read more

I recommend the grilled chicken breast under the American section. I know it sounds weird but their fajitas are pretty good but for 3-4 bucks less you get the same thing! I'm also partial to the 3 cheese enchiladas w salad. It's a small local place but their hot sauce is better than the hundreds of other places I've been. One of the best cheap dishes here would be the carne guisada taco for just 4.50 served on a homemade tortilla or if you're looking to eat good you can get the steak milanesa. It's served with rice and beans and comes with homemade tortillas. It has a juicy yet spicy taste to it and it only comes at a cost of 12.99. They serve homemade chicken fried steak with mash potatoes and green beans, which is a special. Also the staff there are really nice and will literally make you whatever you want if they have it. I ended up ordering two sets of tacos and a mexican burger...after 40 min when i was gunna cancel it they tell me the order is ready..so i was like fine..I finally get my stuff and get in the car and leave. Im from houston so this stop was quick. As im driving 10 min away already I decided to open up my order, i am missing a set of tacos..and my burger, i kid you not! It was just a pattie with lettuce and tomatoes on top...like where are the bunss?!!!! And i had asked the girl if they were legit mexican tacos..she said yes, I opened them and they were straight taco bell tacos. You're gunna tell me all of this took 40 min?!! We have eaten here a couple of times. The food is good and homemade, esp the flour tortillas! That is part of the problem - they guard their tortillas zealously! If you ask for an extra one you will get a shocked and disapproving look - and a lecture on the limited availability of flour tortillas. Service has been ok to poor in general also. When they made a small mistake on my order and asked to have it corrected I got another one of those dumbfounded looks - like how dare you be a pain. So really good enchiladas and tortillas - just don't sass them and especially don't ask for extra flour tortillas! read more

If you're looking for an establishment that can't piece together two breakfast tacos within 25 minutes then this place is 100% for you! I ordered two tacos to go over the phone and was given a ten minute time frame. I got there 15 minutes later only to find they were not yet ready. As I stood there waiting I couldn't help but notice the two women in the back chatting about lord knows what. After about 10 minutes of waiting near the cash register like a complete a**hole. I decided to cut my losses and leave. I can't help but wonder what the two women in the back were talking about while simultaneously not working. No, no, no. I ate here with my husband and the place was filthy. The high chair for our son had some kind of black junk all over it and the waitress apologized and went and cleaned it off. The table cloths are greasy and sticky and the side of the table cloths that touches your lap had dried food on it. It was awful. I won't even think twice about stopping here again, I wouldn't stop here if I hadn't eaten in 2 days and still had 2 more days until the next restaurant. We started off with queso, but melted velveeta block or American cheese isn't "queso." Then we got "fajitas for 2." The fajita meat wasn't skirt steak, it was more like very tough over cooked livers. They only gave us 2 tortillas and when we asked for more, they wanted to charge us for them and tell us there's a limited supply on hand. The waitress was very scared to ask "Mrs. B" to cook up some more and it felt like everything that you would normally receive at a "Mexican" restaurant was so taxing for them to give. I highly recommend you keep driving past this place and try something else. The TA truck stop around the corner had better service when I stopped there to get gas after I left this God-forbidden establishment. Don't see how they stay in business. I would not recommend this place to a homeless person! Orders are late, food is EXTREMELY GREASY, their 'beef' taste like some kind of cat food and customer service....well there is none. I would rather grab a burger at the local Dairy Queen then EVER stop there again! read more

For cheap authentic Mexican food, this place is great. The homemade tortillas are simply outstanding and the enchiladas were very good. The only reason I did not rate it five stars was because the waitstaff was not friendly at all. Our sullen waitress would not even acknowledge our compliments.
