Great place to meet family for a meal. It's a hole in the wall Mexican place and the food was very typical Mexican. Not fancy but all you need. Tea was good. The salsa, which makes or breaks a place for Texans, was super good and they also served refried beans with the chips. BONUS! The food and the service are excellent and the scenery is authentic. When you go you have to get the queso, it is the best in town. My husband and I went here for 20+ years and the best thing I can say during those 20+ years their food never wavered, it always tastes good. Well come to find Palacios Mexican Restaurant is now owned by different people. I haven't been back there since the takeover of new ownership. I hope and pray that everything tastes the same or better. I'll update when I go back and hopefully that will be sometime today. Update: My girls and I decided to go after all. And I was excited to eat there again. Unfortunately, nothing had any flavor not just my plate ( fajitas for 1) but everyone's plate. And all of our food was cold. Nice alternative to pinto bean. I prefer palacios hot sauce though. I got the palacios fish twice and it was excellent both times. My brother got the asada steak and it was actually cooked to medium rare as he requested! (This never happens in Mexican restaurants. Located in down town Edna with street parking. Fantastic Place! We were on the way back from the beaches. My wife's said she was in the mood for Mexican food. We got on Yelp and discover this small place in the Middle of Edna TX. When we walked, the streets were DEAD, we could believe what we saw,the place was packed. He waiters were friendly and even with a packed house the service was fast. I had Tacos Carbon and they were great. The meet was like brisket burned ends. Tender and browned. The tortillas were home made. My wife head a Mexican beef stew which she scooped into those home made tortillas. She too thought they were fantastic. If we ever pass Edna again, we will be going back! read more

This is a slightly below average Tex-Mex restaurant. It's about what you would expect in a small town. Not a gem. I ordered the carne guisada. The order originally came out cold. When I sent it back, it came out warmed but not as hot as I normally like it. The CG was not cooked long enough to make the brisket tender to the taste. My wife ordered the pollo parrilla. Went in with a large group of people. They accommodated us easily. Food came out quickly. There were a few issues with things not coming out correctly, but they were fixed quickly. People in our group loved the bean dip. Everyone absolutely loved the food they got. I ordered flautas and queso. They were both super yummy. Yes, the Poblano sauce chicken enchiladas are nice chunks of white meat chicken with a poblano creme sauce that doesn't overwhelm with heat, but rather flavor. Need heat throw some pico on. Holy Moly, was this place a fantastic find! Small, clean and casual. I can't pronounce or spell the name of my dish but our server quickly recommended it out of my three other interests. It was a grilled chicken breast stuffed with shrimp, covered in Monterrey jack cheese and then mushrooms peppers and onions and queso. My husband laughed at how much I was enjoying my meal! He had a combination plate that he was very pleased with also. The wait staff was efficient and nice. They have Negro Modelo beer which isn't a deal breaker but my fav with Mexican food.
