Everytime we come here are blown away. The food portions are Texas sized and delicious. Get the large guac Mexican style. Just enough jalepeno to be interesting. It's a meal by itself. Just about every main dish comes on an iron skillet piping sizzling hot and sooooooooo good. One of the best TexMex places around. If you are near Columbus give this one a whirl. One of the best Tex Mex places I have been to and in Columbus of all places. The free chips were ok but they came with salsa and queso which my kids really enjoyed. The amazing part were the portions. You could easily split an entree with two people My fajitas were smothered in butter, mushrooms and shrimp and I could only finish 1/4 with enough to take home for a few more meals ($24 for beef). The corn tortillas were also super fresh. My famil really enjoyed the food, our servers were attentive, and the price for quality was amazing. GF and I had spent the weekend shopping in Houston. Once we headed west my stomach started grumbling around Columbus. Not exactly a foodie destination, but saw Los Cabos as an option. Actually confused it for the chain Los Cucos until we drove into the parking lot. But hey you get a same size queso too! Menu is HUGE so be prepared to make some tough choices. She went with simple Fajita Beef Street Tacos. Requisite small corn tortillas with cilantro and onion. Dish didn't come with rice and beans so she shared mine. It also came with a different and more traditional salsa. I wonder why in the heck we were served the first one! I took a shot in the sea of entrees and ordered the Poblano Shrimp. What I got was at least a whole sliced onion as a bed on an enormous sizzling fajita platter. Poblano peppers obviously with mushrooms with Parmesan and Jack Cheese and a cream sauce. Guacamole and Pico too; for $20 it was a winner. GF is insisting I mention the soft serve machine near the hostess stand. We didn't indulge but we walked out fat and happy. Scam Attitude Manager The place doesn't have bad food, but you really need to be careful about the automatic gratuity they charge you. If you have 8 or more people in your party, each paying person in the group is going to be hit with the same gratuity percentage just because the table has 8 or more people. The workers were offended dickheads about the simple question as well and tried to pretend they didn't speak English. Their logic was pretty simple. They will try to automatically charge each paying person relative to the total number of people sitting at your table by sneaking it on your bill. Didn't appreciate the victim mentality about taking the gratuity off and saying their waiter didn't deserve it (their words) as well as saying "That's just the way it is"...pff...my ass. This place use to be ok. Good industrial tex mex. It has gone to crap. Food was horrible. Sent one order back as it was old and cold. How a skinny margaritas was $16. I dont know. Our other meals were crap. We had carne asada. Meat was small, tough as hell. Best part were the charro beans. This place is partners w the steak house Nancy's. Wont set foot in that place. I was born and raised in Texas and I have had a LOT of Mexican food! I've had good, bad, indifferent, and excellent. Los Cabos is excellent. My son is a Mexican food connoisseur of sorts and he was super impressed. He got the fajita plate and it was overflowing with delicious fresh charred vegetables, a heaping serving of rice, fresh avocado; the works! I ordered their supreme nachos that had hamburger meat on them and even the hamburger meat was flavorful and tender. Sometimes it can be kind of bland but it was very very good! Maybe I'm just spoiled by San Antonio's Mexican restaurants. This restaurant has good google reviews so we stopped to give it a try on our drive from SA to Houston. It's mediocre at best and very white washed. We ordered one cheese enchilada plate and one tomatillo enchilada plate. One plate was lacking enough chile con carne gravy and the other plate was drenched in tomatillo sauce. None of the salsas were spicy. The plates only come with two enchiladas and were way too cheesy, imo. Not even the beans were good. The rice and chips were the best part of the meal sadly. We live in Columbus. We eat here around every other week to monthly. We usually order chicken fajitas, or flautas or the street steak tacos. This time we saved the fajitas for the next day. I took the fajitas out... they had a sour smell. I don't know if it was the marinade or the chicken. But I heated it anyways, hoping I was wrong about the smell. No way were we going to eat it. I called the manager, gave the ticket number, told him the situation and asked for a credit. (Not for my money back). He started questioning me and asking why I didn't call yesterday. (Already said we saved it for tonight in fridge.). I said... we eat there regularly. A credit is fine. He just kept saying, no, we cook fresh every day. We've never had a complaint. I said, we'll, if you don't want to give me a credit, you're losing a good customer. He then repeated himself again. There aren't that many places to eat in Columbus and we mainly cook at home. I guess we're going to Joe's Italian, houndsong, Becky's steakhouse, schobel's or Blake's. I wasn't even mad about the chicken smelling inedible (all of my family also agreed.). Stopped here driving from Houston to Austin yesterday, Sunday. Was immediately seated by a friendly staff. The chips were warm and the tomatillo sauce was the best I've ever had.
