Very disappointed with their service. Choose a different company if you can - save your time and money. 1st shipment was damaged per driver's error. He dropped the pallet of the liftgate when unloading. This mistake could have been easily avoided if he parked his truck properly. 2nd shipment is already 6 days behind schedule. I would never use this company if it was my decision. However the company I purchased picked the trucking company to deliver my order. I ordered a combination mill/lathe that weighs over 700 pounds and I had to take a day off work to be here when Estes told me it would be delivered. Because of the weight I also had to rent a piece of equipment to unload the material, as Estes would only drop it at the end of my driveway. Well, the delivery was late and when I called to check on when it would be delivered, I was informed that it was moved from their terminal to another terminal and someone would be calling me to schedule delivery. Now I am out a days pay and the cost of renting a piece of equipment and Estes doesn't even care. I not only was told the day of the delivery, but the time and all of it was outright lies. DONT DO IT!! Even though you pay them to deliver items they need your help. Came to my house and the delivery man who was already limping called and told my husband that he had to come to the truck and help him carry it to my curb because they do curb side delivery. You pay them to do the work. They send out one man to bring your item in a truck that is not equpied for one man to get it out of himself.Even though my husband helped the man only dropped it to our steps in the rain. The box was ripped and missing at the bottom of my item. Called to complain about the service and manager Mike G at 7:41 on 2/19 told me that's how they conduct business. "I been doing this for over 30 years and usually customers have no problem helping us get items off the truck." He told me to call the 1800 number and complain to corporate if I think is having to help take them item off the truck is a problem. When I asked him what would happen if my husband didn't help the limping driver he stated "he would just have to come back another day with the right truck to get it off himself." Ordered a patio set from Home Depot shipping says 13-16 which is fine my family birthday party is 17. Ordered it says it will be there on the 15 perfect gives me two days after work to put it all together. 15 comes no package not so bad it did say till the 16 and it's at a warehouse 50 miles away. 16 comes no package Home Depot customer care says to call the Home Depot location I contact them it's not there and they have it at a location 20 miles away but say it will probably be in the midnight delivery and available the 17 fine I can be there at 6 pick it up. 17 still no package Home Depot customer care now has to open a case on it as neither of us can get the tracking to work on the Estes website. I have to scramble to borrow patio furniture from friends just to have proper seating for the older family members. 18 still no package and now the tracking doesn't work for the package at all and it still says estimated delivery 10/16 which obviously can't happen. This is the worst delivery company I have ever dealt with! After scheduling a Saturday delivery for a Home Depot order, Estes never showed up and never called me to tell me what happened. I have since then called them and left them voicemails every day. If I'm lucky, I get someone on the line who promises they will call promptly back to schedule a new delivery date. Never happens. Or they will get you a phone number to call that no one will ever pick up (you can try calling that all you want and good luck leaving voicemails on that number as well). Days and days will go by chasing them. I'm surprised Home Depot would use a delivery company like Estes that ends up ruining their reputation in the process. My package was shipped out June 18 from Florida and expected to arrive in San Antonio by the 21st, with a delivery date of June 25. I am in dire straights so I called and spoke with a rep at Estes and they said we would be able to know more when it arrived on the 21st at the terminal. I called this morning and apparently my package just left Alabama (June 21) and Now it's scheduled to arrive in SA on June 25. I called and spoke with customer service and they had my package delivered to me the next day, on Friday! So they were able to get my package from Alabama all the way to Del Rio, TX in a matter of a day! The rep I spoke with yesterday, Ms. Townsend and Roger were both really helpful and reached out to get me my package! They even arranged where I could meet the freight driver for a quicker delivery. This is a horrible company. They were a third party, contracted by Home depot for the delivery of a large out door play set for my daughters. They were suppose to give us a 1 hour call prior to delivery but they simply arrived at our home and no one was there. They called any my wife rushed home to accept the delivery. Upon arrival she saw two large 500 pound boxes directly in front of our garage doors with the delivery man sitting in the truck. She asked him to please move the boxes but he refused and said that his job here is done. What type of idiot leaves massive packages in front active driveways/garage doors!!!. To add insult to injury my wife is 8 months pregnant and the delivery man was extremely nasty to her. I made an appointment to have my couch picked up. I gave them a window 1-5 to collect it. I was here from 12-6 I'd set it up this way because I had another service coming between 1-4. I considerately moved my car out of the driveway. The other service vehicle was on the other side of the driveway. Waiting on a crib and bookcase from them, both my husband and I took the day off for this delivery ONLY...get a call in the morning saying they are not delivering because of a storm (not the customers problem or fault), then they go on to say they cannot deliver on the day that we are available and that we have to pay storage fees. Meanwhile we already paid HEFTY surcharges for this delivery. I refuse to pay storage fees on something that was NOT our fault. First off, as I've read through all the reviews below, I'd have to 100% agree that if Yelp allowed a ZERO rating, you bet I'd leave it. This is the worst delivery company I've ever interacted with. I work for a medical laboratory and Estes delivered to us a shipment of chemicals that we use for testing for various things. The boxes are labeled clearly "DO NOT STACK". Estes, with all their glorious incompetence, of course, stacked the boxes. Big NO-NO! The vials inside broke, in all 8 boxes, so badly, in fact,that the cardboard of the boxes had become soggy and was beginning to disintegrate. These chemicals are deadly when absorbed into the skin or inhaled directly. We refused delivery but the driver, who is horribly uneducated on Hazardous Materials and the statutes in Beverly Hills, he refused to leave with them...ummm...what!? I get on the phone immediately with his supervisor whom, I'm assuming, he's already called. His supervisor explains to me that the Driver's story is such - The employees of the lab broke the boxes and they're blaming me, so they're NOT taking them back. So, the driver, mid-conversation, walks away and drives off. I get on the phone with the supplier who shipped the chemicals to us. They reach out to Estes and they have another driver coming out to pick them up. This guy gets here and I already know it's not going to go well. He doesn't speak english and my spanish isn't great, so there's no open line of communication. I call his supervisor because he won't remove the damaged shipment they delivered. His supervisor asks me if I have a form only the shipper would have. I don't. I try to connect the two via phone but he says he doesn't HAVE to talk to anyone if he doesn't want to, and they're NOT taking the damaged shipment. Clearly, based on all the reviews I've read, and through my experience, I would URGE anyone who is considering using these people to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look elsewhere. They have ZERO reliability. ZERO customer service skills. ZERO education on delivery mandated statutes. ZERO communication skills. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. read more

So... I finally did get my delivery after 3 weeks of Estes holding it in their Salisbury terminal. They still refused to offload it and I had to hire a rollback to come and remove it from the truck and put it in my yard. Extra 150.00 dollars over the shipping I had already paid. Bottom line... The manager of this business needs to be let go. All week i'm calling back and forth about the location of my package so i know when to be back in town to receive my delivery. No one had a clue, on top of that they refuse to carry the package up the stairs so i upgraded to white glove delivery no problem but they need to let customers know they only deliver to first floor when checking out! If you schedule an appointment to delivery a package, you better deliver it or notify your customers in advance that you are unable to because it's stressful knowing i'm sitting here waiting for hours for no one to show up when i could be at work! now if my package arrives damaged like all of these reviews mentioned, i'm going to flip my shit! This has been a horrible experience. I ordered something on Walmart.com; changed my mind, and immediately cancelled. I was refunded and assured the shipping company had been notified. Fast forward three weeks: my mom signs for a delivery that should never have shipped on the first place. The boxes are huge (and falling apart - if this were an item I wanted I would be upset at the condition of the boxes). I called the number on my delivery slip to explain that there had been a mistake, but they told me I had to contact Estes 2, their final mile company. I was told by Estes 2 that they would contact the driver to come pick it up. Well it sat there all weekend. I called again today, only to be informed that since my mom signed for the package (which, again, should never have made it to my house in the first place), I would either have to PAY for pick up, or just throw the item away. What on earth kind of company treats their clients, customers, and goods like that??? It is a huge package, and it is forecast to rain today. The item will be ruined, and I do not have the means to throw it away. The seller is a New York company, and no one is in the office (understandably). But I shouldn't have to contact them in order to schedule a pick up. This is Estes' mistake! Three weeks "late," shouldn't have been delivered in the first place, ripped box, the run-around from customer service, the insult of being told I would have to pay for pick up - that's a long list of things gone wrong. Estes delivered one piece to my dock. It was smashed to pieces, I understand, that happens. The dirty crooked part is when the driver, knowing it was smashed to pieces, throws it out on my dock, runs inside for somebody to sign it quickly, because he was in a hurry. We caught him pulling out, and he said, "sorry, it's already been signed for! I called the number on the back of the freight bill, same thing, sorry for your luck! If Estes ever delivers another piece of freight to my business, it will be refused, reguardless the condition. Shame on you Estes! read more

Waiting for my deceased fathers effects to be shipped from UK - UK to NY was excellent service -therefore had high expectations for a delivery today from Estes (due from 8 am to 1 pm ) ... Still waiting....and waiting....and waiting - Sharon in customer service was outstanding in helping locate a manager, Alvin Glass who told me I was basically a liar as " all shipments were scheduled for 1 to 5". Wonder why the invoice stated delivery by 1. Still nothing - had to cancel plans - on a holiday weekend really!!!!!!!! Lord only knows when it will be delivered. More of the same poor service: I ordered a Kayak from Austin Canoe & Kayak, and they used Estes Express to ship it to me. Austin Canoe & Kayak told me in an email to contact the Mobile, Alabama Estes Express office in order to schedule the delivery of the Kayak (it was required that somebody be present and sign for the delivery). On June 17th, I spoke to a lady at the Mobile Estes office and she scheduled the delivery for June 21st between 1:00 and 5:00 pm. So, I took a half day off work and waited at home on June 21st until 4:50 pm. At that time I called the Mobile Estes office to check on the delivery. The lady confirmed the scheduled delivery date on their books, but then told me that they didn't even process the kayak thru their Mobile warehouse until noon that very day, and that it couldn't go out for delivery to me until tomorrow (the 22nd). So, I asked her why nobody called me this morning to let me know so I wouldn't waste a half day of leave from work. She didn't have an answer, and didn't even offer an apology. So, I had to ask her: if I had been her mother, would she have called me to let me know, or would she have let her mother waste half a day of leave as well? She didn't say anything... ...and that's it people; a company that treats it's customers the same way it would treat family deserves 5 stars. Companies that don't care aren't worth poo-poo! The only reason I gave Estes 2 stars is because the Estes truck driver was nice enough to help me carry the kayak from the street to my house, and that was nice of him. As far as Austin Canoe & Kayak goes, they had the kayak that I wanted at the very best price. And they had a great instructional video on what to expect, and how to handle the shipment, etc. But, I hope they use their power to influence the business practices of Estes, or else use a different shipper. read more

I just had a delivery from this company take place a few minutes ago. Everything went very smoothly and I am writing this review now so I do not forget to write one. After reading several of the reviews I was very skeptical that this delivery would not go smoothly. It went very smoothly. Ricardo was the person delivering are very large box containing fiberglass fish. Yes, the box did have a few dents scratches and holes in it, being it is cardboard, that is too be expected. The fiberglass fish were covered with a large crate-style wood frame underneath the cardboard exterior of the box. Upon seeing some holes and dents in the packaging I expressed my concerns and Ricardo helped me open up the box so I could see if there was any damage. There was absolutely no damage at all. Ricardo arrived during the time frame that we were quoted. Ricardo was very nice and helpful. I don't usually write reviews. Usually I plan on writing reviews and then forget to do it. However in this case being this company is showing so many negative reviews, I definitely wanted to follow through and remark on my positive experience. read more

I ordered an item with Home Depot that was shipped via Estes Express. The shipping tracker said the item would arrive on Friday or Saturday, but when Estes called to book the delivery she said it would be delivered on the following Wednesday and that those dates were for delivery to their facility. Then on Monday Estes Express called leaving a message saying they could deliver it earlier on Tuesday. I called them back and booked Tuesday. Tuesday at 4 when they had not shown I called Estes who stated that the shipment was booked for Wednesday. So we waited around the whole day for nothing for someone who did not click the right thing on the computer. On Wednesday the item was delivered by 1 man with a pallet jack. This company expected their 1 employee to move 8000lb of rumble stone by himself with a pallet jack when they clearly loaded the delivery truck with a fork. They also stacked my items when there are fluorescent stickers saying DO NOT STACK ITEMS. I have yet to unwrap them items to check for damage as there was already damage noted that I had to document unopened. I do not know if the damaged occurred prior to Estes or with Estes. My husband also hurt himself helping the poor driver try to unload the truck. Overall my experience would not prompt me to use Estes on my own. Customer service was poor and rude in regards to their mistake and the lack of proper help for their delivery employees was sad. read more

If there was an option to not choose any stars, I would have chosen that. We ordered a crib from Toys R US and it had to be shipped via freight and unfortunately they chose Estes as the company who would ultimately deliver the item. We ordered the crib back in June and the package was not handed off to anyone, they literally opened the back of the truck and flipped the box out onto the sidewalk. When this was done, it damaged the item. We had to initiate a return with TRU and once again they chose Estes Express (Billerica, MA). They received my crib on 8-07, and claimed that the first delivery attempt would be 08-08. Nope, we emailed and called and finally got a call saying that it would be placed on the truck on Friday which is 08-11. Why if you have the item, are you waiting to deliver it? We live less than 12 miles away from Estes. Looking at all these yelp reviews from other locations, it at least seems that they are consistent throughout the US and every state they operate in, their customers have all had less than pleasing experiences. I would rather hire a mule to deliver my items than this poor excuse of a shipping company. I paid $80 to have an item shipped and Este's is holding my item hostage. Deliver it at my convenience, not yours! Hey, throw an $80 check in the mail to me. Seriously, refund me my shipping fee. read more

I ordered a lawn mower from Home Depot and the estimated delivery was 6/5-6/13. I kept checking the Estes website to see the delivery date so I could try to be home that day, but it kept saying it couldn't estimate the date, even though I could see my mower was sitting in their warehouse 45 minutes from my home for several days. I emailed customer service on June 9 to find out if they could let me know the expected delivery date. They emailed me back on the 11th stating that my package was given to the delivering agent that day and that I would receive a call to schedule a delivery appointment, but I never received a call. I called customer service on the 15th, was on hold for over 20 minutes to be told that apparently the email was a lie and my package was given to the delivering agent on the 15th. I was told I would get a call on the 18th. I never received a call. It is now the 19th and I still have not received a call to schedule my delivery. In the meantime, I have now had to pay someone to mow my lawn once because my mower didn't arrive on time, and I am now thinking I will need to pay someone to mow again as it is still not here. I find this completely unacceptable as I was told the mower arrived the 11th, then the 15th, and yet I still do not have it, and I paid a lot to buy the mower and to have it here in a timely manner, but now I will have had to pay an extra $100+ to have someone else mow my lawn because it wasn't here when I was told it would be. read more

I ordered (2) pool/patio tables from In The Swim. They chose Estes to deliver the tables. On Friday, 6/12, I received a phone call from Estes and it went to my voice mail. I called them right back and they scheduled the delivery for Monday, 6/15 between 10am-2pm. Waited for the delivery-got nothing. Called them at about 2:15pm and they told me the delivery was never scheduled. What??? They scheduled again for delivery on 6/17 between 10am-2pm. I got nothing. Called them back again. Ooops so sorry we didn't have a driver for your area. I wasted 2 days waiting for this delivery (I'm trying to take vacation time.) I asked if they were going to call me and let me know that the delivery was again delayed-they can't do that because they are not informed when this happens. They are now going to deliver tomorrow, they say between 9am-1pm. I pretty much demanded 9am-I am not wasting my vacation time on a delivery company that can't follow through. read more

Estes is worst than a third rate shipper. My order was placed on May 17th and was shipped the same day from Illinois with a delivery date of May 24th, kudos to Home Depot. Unfortunately for me it was shipped by Estes. The 24th came and went along with the revised delivery date of May 31st. My order was finally delivered today, June 8th. My order spent more time traveling from one warehouse to another in Southern California than it did traveling from Illinois. When the delivery arrived, we had only 3 pallets. 1 was lost (how does that happen?). after several calls into Estes, from myself and the company who hired Estes, they finally "found" the lost pallet. I explained to them the I needed the delivery as soon as possible and they said they would have the pallet to us the following day between 10am-noon. I ordered a washer from compact appliances for black friday and the order shipped the following monday and arrived at the local terminal tuesday but it was too late to be delivered that day and I received it the following day. I ordered a Lawn tractor from Home depot assuming they would deliver it themselves from a local source/supply. Turns out they had to ship from Nashville to Waynesboro Virginia which took about 7 days. The trucker did his part as it only took about 12 hours from pick up to delivering it in Waynesboro. Problem is their "Last Mile" delivery service. They only operate on Tuesday and Thursday, originally when ordering on the 15th I assumed their 21st-29th delivery window was an exaggerated window to make it look like they were super fast. So now it sits in Waynesboro and I wait 6 more days until they can fit my delivery to Lexington Va in their 2 hour service window. Don't order anything you would like to have relatively quickly through their "last mile" service. Its pretty much a joke as I was informed they service the whole area with just one box truck. Just make plans to rent a trailer or truck ahead of time. read more

Incompetent. I ordered a shower door; the retailer notified me it shipped on 3/14. Estes ' tracking site said it would be delivered 3/23 or 3/24. When it didn't arrive, I phoned Estes and was told there had been "a delay." I phoned every day and got a similar runaround (usually after spending about 10 minutes on hold.) Today I called the dealer and they called Estes, who finally admitted the shipment had been lost--a word they delicately avoided using with me. (Though if you don't know where something is, it's sort of "lost" by definition, right?) I told him I was calling for a quote his response in a very disinterested tone was "Didn't the website work?" My response said it says to call for a quote. Then I get "What error do you have?"
