Terrible customer service! They held my package in their terminal for 4 days and never contacted me for delivery. I contacted them and the woman I spoke to was short with me. I finally got a delivery appointment I had to take half a day off of work and they never showed up and never called to let me know. Estes Express Lines is the company used by Home Depot. They do not respond to phone calls. I had a tracking number that did not yield any tracking until a phone call from home depot. They do not agree with tracking numbers and sit on product until last possible date. They do not allow you to participate in scheduling although this was how it is presented and they do not even give the courtesy call before delivery so you can be prepared. The staff answering the phone are uncooperative and talk in circles without any commitment and put you on hold quite a bit. It is unfortunate that Home Depot uses this company because it definitely makes me think twice about ever ordering on line from them again.(Homedepot.com). Speaking directly with the Warehouse in Seekonk when the back end of the delivery time was passed, I learned that they now contract out residential deliveries. Vanity was finally delivered just outside robo called time given. I had to have someone at the house from 7:15 on and they did not even give the courtesy call which should have been at 11. 4 Canceled shipments because they can't follow directions. Even though the dispatch and bill of laden all showed a lift gate was needed they kept arriving without one. With no notification of the issues until our crew called saying they did not show. We had to pay our crew several times over again to prepare shipment as it had to be moved outside and packaged, and moved back in everytime they did not show. By far the worst service and shipping company I've ever seen or attempted to do business with. When i called customer care AND dispatch they pretended they couldn't hear me and hung up several times. I struggle writing this review as I have used this company several times a year with out issue. However we will not be shipping with this carrier in the future. I am sure that this will not be a big loss for them as we did not do huge business with them. I would strongly caution people to not ship any kayaks with this company. And possibly think twice about using them at all. How would you feel if you ordered a couple of brand new kayaks and they were delivered with a large forklift fork sized hole in them. The company called me the night before a delivery with a 4 hour window for delivery. Day of delivery call and state it doesn't fit on the truck they can't deliver, they will be out the next day in a 4 hour window. Morning of delivery comes they call can't deliver driver called out sick. But they should be able to deliver the next day in a 4 hour window. I told them deliver today or I cancel. Called Home Depot where I ordered the item, no help blind transferred me to Este where I was again told "Sorry". Cancelled the shipment. I will go with someone else who doesn't use this company even if I have to pay more. read more

Like others have said... if I could leave a negative review I would. We ordered a pool table and when the company called to set up the delivery they said the driver would get it to the door but not inside. This was totally understandable but he wouldn't even bring it to the door. He was extremely rude through the whole process. He said he wanted to wheel it around to the garage which based on our homes layout makes it even more difficult for us. I let him know we were told it could be brought to the door and he insisted he couldn't bring it inside. I said I knew that but we were told to the door. Once he wheeled it behind the house to the garage he basically stood there and stared at my husband. Finally he at least helped get it off the pallet. Funny enough we had another delivery by XPO 30 mins after that for something equally heavy and the drivers volunteered to help us bring that item inside. They were kind the entire time. I wish I could give 0 stars. I ordered from Target on June 14. My item wasn't picked up until June 23 and stayed there. On June 28 it was "in transit". I called 3 times to find out when I will be receiving it. One rep stated two days. Next phone call they said Target never contacted them to pick it up. They can deliver it July 1, between 8-6. The package never arrived. I also called Target and told them I have yet to receive my order. I don't know if they contacted EFW. This has become the biggest joke I have ever seen. I had a scheduled delivery for July 6, no one showed. I had called everyday for a week and I got a different bullshut story each day. Week 2 of calling and no one has any idea where my delivery is at. They tried to blame another shipping company and when I called them they had no idea what I was talking about. Day after that Estes "customer service", which is another joke of itself, said it didn't go to them but was put on a truck but no one knows where it went. How do you call yourself a shipping company? This is costing me time and money. I don't want some corporate horseshit response about how you understand how I feel, just get my shit delivered. Do I need to go to the dock and find it myself? As others have said, zero stars would have been more appropriate. I ordered a vanity top from Home Depot online and they shipped it through Estes. Knowing about time in transit and making sure the package had actually shipped, I tore apart my bathroom on the appropriate day so I would be able to have a one day cushion on receiving the vanity top (I even waited until the package showed arrival at the destination terminal). Well, that one day cushion came and went and my bathroom still has no vanity top installed. I suppose I should be thankful about all the extra time this has given me to complete all the other little things that I would have completed AFTER the vanity was installed. I have been given the run around so much by this company and more than one rude person has told me that the tracking number I have showing my merchandise arrived at the destination terminal was only for the "Bill that was forced to the terminal" (don't ask me what that means). When I asked each-and-every-one-of-them, "So you're telling me that the tracking number you assign applies to the BILL and not the package? What is the sense of claiming to be able to track the package if the number applies to the bill rather than the package?" Every one of them said, "huminah, huminah, huminah." On all future online orders I will ascertain who the carrier will be. if the seller tells me it will be Estes, I will cancel the order, tell them why, and then place the order with their direct competitor. I cannot believe this company. they picked up our order in Maryland 12/31/14 and did not deliver it off until this morning 1/20/14. Not sure where it was all this time, according to the tracker it was 100 miles away just sitting there for 5 days or so. Customer service was no help at all. When it is my choice I will never allow this company to handle any of my freight. they claim to exceed customer expectation's sure exceeded mine 20 days for a delivery. Our company prides it self on our delivery rating, we have consistently delivered to our customer 100% on time delivery. If I could give them a lower rating I would....... This company scheduled two appointments with me (replacing one with the other) and did not show for the delivery. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes I was told they were not coming to this delivery time they decided to switch the date and time to the first scheduled time. I was told they should have called to let me know this but evidently decided not to. I was promised by the woman I spoke with they would come between 11-3 the next day. I got up the next morning, checked my e-mail, and realized that she set my delivery time for 'before 5'. Then another employee of EFW had me sit on the phone for over 30 minutes so that she could tell me I SHOULD receive my delivery by 5:30- 6 ish! I then asked to speak with corporate to complain and she could not find anyone for me to speak with. She actually told me that there was not one manager on the floor and she could not find anyone. While waiting I was lucky enough to listen to at least 30 rounds of their 'motto' which roughly states they work 24 hours a day and deliver whenever you need them. Horrible service! I had a shipment scheduled between 10-2 PM, waited all day at home and they never showed up nor did they call to notify they weren't coming. When I called to ask what was going on the gentleman that answered the phone was less than apologetic or welcoming. I was told the delivery guy fell behind schedule and would arrive in 2 hours. I expressed how disappointed I was since I had waited at home all day and would have appreciated a phone call, nothing. I found out estes was going to be delivering a wooden swing set from Sam's Club for us. When I ordered, Sam's Club website said it would be here by the next Wednesday. (I ordered on a Thursday). When I got the tracking shipment information from estes, it said it would be the following Monday, after that Wednesday. Though this would be ok, I really wanted it before the weekend so we could get it set up. Because of the time differences between the 2 sites, I started looking up reviews of estes. Based on the reviews I read, I was very nervous about what shape the boxes would come in and if it would even come on the day they estimated. Well, I continued to watch the tracking update, and saw that it was on truck for delivery today. 4 days before their site said it would be, and one day after Sam's Club said it would be delivered. This was perfect for us, and just in time for the weekend. The driver called at 12:30 saying he'd be in 30 minutes. He was here right on the money, unloaded the boxes in the garage like I asked. How can I put this?? This is the WORST shipping experience I've ever had, doesn't quiet get the point across. I was suppose to pick something up from their location Friday(because the rude woman on the phone said they wouldn't deliver it that day, although their website said it was due that day) I decided to come pick it up. She made sure to tell me "AFTER 4pm" I get up there around 4:15pm go to the office, they tell me to drive around back and wait.... 10 minutes, nothing, I go back in and ask if they're waiting for me to sign anything or what not? No, they're looking for your package. One and half hours later, the come back and say they can't find it. It's a 6' Vanity, some some little package... I don't understand. The manager says he'll call me Saturday when they find it. Saturday comes, I call in about 11 to see if they've located it. No answer on hold for 10 mins and then leave a message. No return call at 2, so I call back and at the same time get on line and chat with Home Depot (place I ordered the vanity) they too get on the phone to Estes.. we're both on hold... I'm on hold for One hour and thirty one minutes and their system comes on and says, sorry..... and hangs up. WTF? Home depot finally gets on the phone with someone in Richmond VA.. I'm in Kansas City... he then calls and says he's called all of his managers in KC. One finally calls me back and says they've "lost" the vanity... but says he'll look through his trucks and call me back.... Still nothing. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! 1st they didn't call the first time they tried to deliver and I was home the whole day except for maybe 30 minutes, called to re-schedule, re-scheduled for a thursday, they called me on a wednesday with no scheduled delivery asking me to schedule a delivery time when I already had. Next they told me 7-11 am the next day so I waited, 1130 came, no delivery, called them they told me no I was scheduled for 10-2pm i said thats unacceptable. Then talking to them further my delivery wasn't even on the truck because there was no name or packing info on it anymore so it can't be delivered today and I will no longer be home when they deliver so I have to leave a note for them. Like many of the other reviews, if I could leave less than one star I would. I will NEVER again order anything from Home Depot or any other company that uses Estes-Express. Home Depot will also be getting a one-star review based solely on Estes-Express high level of incompetence. I expected my order 12/26. When I called yesterday to inquire the customer service rep acted all frazzled and said I was like the 25th person to call, she carried on like this was a fluke thing they were quickly trying to resolve. Reading the other 190 one-star reviews, it's clear this is business as usual for them. Overpromise and underdeliver. I was told the same thing many other people have stated in their reviews. "My shipment is on the truck and should be going out tonight, we just don't have a driver," I thought that was odd, how could they not have a driver. Why would you take money to do a job when you're not adequately staffed to perform that task? Then I found all these reviews and see it's no wonder they don't have drivers. Who would want to work for a company that takes money from people and consistently does a really shitty job? Needless to say, my order didn't go out last night or the night before. At best my flooring might arrive on 12/31. That would mean someone at Estes would have to actually do their job, I'm in no way optimistic of that happening. I ordered a swing set from Sams club and received my first and only call from Estes on the 13th to set up delivery appointment. Delivery was set up for the 16th. No one showed. No one called. I waited a few days to see if they would call back. No word from them. So after Thanksgiving I called them back. This was on the 28th. The excuse they gave was there was too much stuff on the truck and they didn't have time to deliver it. So the 28th, no show, no call. Today is the 29th of November. They have had my delivery since the 13th. I call again and set up for delivery for tomorrow the 30th. About 10:30, 2 hours after I called and set up delivery for TOMORROW, I hear a truck in my driveway. They were delivering today. The driver was extremely polite and willing to work with me. I give him 5 stars. This company is absolutely horrible. My delivery required a signature so someone had to be home. Thankfully I'm a stay at home mom so I was home anyways. I ordered a combination pool table / ping pong table from Home Depot. It was delivered to Estes Express' Miami office on May 7th. Each day they told me it would be delivered tomorrow. Every time I called to get status I was told they ran out of room in the truck, and it would come the next day. Finally, on May 13th they said it would be delivered the first thing the next day. They gave me a delivery time of 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM. I asked them how can you give someone a 5:30 AM delivery time and they stated that they open at 4 AM. I went to my office at 5:30 am, and waited. I kept calling for status and was told that the truck had not left yet. Finally about 11 am I was told that the driver was having problems at a delivery that he was at and would be at my office soon, even though they had told me several times that I was the first delivery of the day. Finally around noon the table was delivered. We then opened the box to build the table, and guess what? The pool table felt was ripped. They ran a forklift right through the box and ripped the felt. After seeing other reviews and never having heard of this company, I was quite skeptical when I saw my tracking number was for Estes Express. I couldn't be home at the time of delivery, so the company told me to leave a note with my tracking number and signature. Not only was the package delivered on time (it was there when I got home), the driver even read my note and left the package in an area that was out of the rain. Amazing and not in a good way! We ordered a custom poker table which was sent to us using this delivery company. First attept, we were suppose to get it 10-3, ended up waiting until 4pm calling every hour until company said they lost the huge table. After we called the company that built it, suddenly the deliver company discovered they had the table after all. Second attempt, again friends got together to wait for the delivery and help us move the table and again the table was to arrive 10-3. After 3pm we began calling every hour, very rude service around 9 pm they even became annoyed and hung up on us several times. At 11 pm, when it was dark and everyone was tired the delivery arrived. They tried to throw the table off the truck and get a signature and leave ASAP. It was all very fishy, the lost late arrival, so against all their pushing we checked the delivery. First box was in great condition, also smaller of the two but the second had the crate cracked and after taking a close look into the crack we could see that the custom table was broke beyond repair. I noticed that the only post of positive reviews for this shipper are advertisers. This is my real experience. Ordered furniture. The company I ordered it from used Estes. I received an email asking me to schedule the delivery because it needed to be signed for. I did as requested and scheduled delivery (12 - 5 pm Thursday) Took a half day off to be there. Item does not arrive. I called customer service. It was evident from the outset that they could care less. Rescheduled the delivery anyway. Again stayed home to get delivery. It did not arive. Again I call customer service and again I feel as though I am talking to Comcast customer service. Reschedule delivery and arrange to have wife home for delivery. Again it does not arrive and wife calls customer service and gets a run around. They reschedule for the next day between 11-2 so wife asked the retired older woman next door to look out for the truck. They delivered the furniture at 5:30 pm and dropped the box at the end of the driveway and the driver was rude to our nice elderly neighbors I contacted the company that I ordered this furniture from and cancelled my account. I am a supply chain Manger for a major company and thought that many of these complaints were exaggerated. This is not one of those insidences. read more

I purchased signs for an apartment community and the company used this freight service to deliver them. They kept these signs for over a week without even trying to call us. After contacting the signage company, I was told that they were unable to use the phone number on my account (I didn't realize it was hard to dial numbers?). Apparently I was supposed to schedule an appointment with them, of which I was never told and they never tried to contact us (due to possible inability to use telephone apparently). Looking at the other reviews here when I got my shipping info made me nervous, but then I realized Estes is a huge carrier and who is going to post a review of a trucking company unless they had a problem? So here's my experience with a bathtub I ordered online, LTL delivery from the terminal in Decatur Alabama: Driver and terminal personnel were courteous and professional. First delivery appointment was missed because of problems en route (delivery times are not guaranteed, it says that right up front), which happens in the trucking business. Redelivery appointment was right on, driver called first as requested, showed up at the beginning of the delivery window, helped load the freight into my pickup (NOT required, delivery was specified as "curbside"), and was completely professional and thoroughly apologetic for the missed delivery on the previous date. One star is dinged because the info on the online tracking page was not always fully up-to-date, and because when the first appointment was scrubbed dispatch did not call me immediately to tell me. Neither of these is a required part of the service, but both would be nice. Many of the complaints here and on other sites are because folks do not understand LTL freight delivery. Trucks are big (53' trailers). Appointment times are not guaranteed. You need to call and schedule or confirm appointments. Driver is only required to get your freight off the truck, not help you get it in the house. You MUST inspect for damage before you sign the bill of lading, and refuse the shipment if it is damaged (this means NOT signing the BOL and having the driver reload the freight and take it back with him/her). LTL carriers are not glorified UPS, they are a different beast. Most drivers will be helpful and go beyond the call of duty so some extent, but they DO NOT have to do this and you need to be prepared to handle your freight yourself once it is off the truck. ALL of this is usually spelled out in the e-mail you got when your order was shipped from the merchant or supplier. READ THE FINE PRINT. It is there for a reason. read more

I ordered laminate flooring through Home Depot and was a little worried after reading the bad reviews, but I had a PERFECT experience with ESTES. Delivery date range Aug 29th - Sep 6th. I call on Aug 29 and I think one issue is that Home Depot provides us tracking numbers in an email after purchase. In my case they didn't match numbers Estes has from Pergo. The gentleman I spoke with at ESTES GENUINELY WANTED to help me though and kept doing searches until he found my order, and gave me their tracking # they have on file. He let me know the product was at my local terminal and even transferred me to a person there. The contact at the local terminal verified what kind of truck will be able to get to my house and said Sep 6th for delivery. On Sep 6th the delivery person called to let me know 30 minutes away, ,and right on time delivered in a location that was great in my difficult driveway, and verified it was the correct product before leaving. I'm amazed anytime I get AWESOME service from any organization, and this company provided that. Thank you ESTES! read more

Stay away from this mismanaged nightmare!! I would have gladly spent extra money to use a reliable shipping company. First off it is now Saturday March 17th 2018. My package that they refuse to deliver and are holding hostage has been at their Columbus Ohio terminal since Tuesday morning. I received an email from the vendor I ordered my new 5th wheel hitch through, stating Estes in Columbus now has my freight and they will either call me to schedule delivery or I can contact them to set it up. I immediately called the provided local number. After some time and several menus I was directed to a customer service representative. I explained that I would like to schedule delivery or I live within 50 miles of the terminal and I would prefer to come pick it up directly from them. She said no problem I will have someone from scheduling call you back before he end of the day. I foolishly accepted this arrangement. Needless to say no call was made. I have called back every day since in an attempt to pick up my freight. I have been told a different story by every person I have spoken to. The long and the short of it is they do not have a clue where my $2000 hitch is. I now have taken 2 days off of work based on the lies that have told me, and have a 3rd day scheduled off on Monday to go pick up my new 5th wheel camper that now I can not even tow because they have held my hitch that I need hostage. What an infuriating, expensive, nightmare. Never again!! After reading reviews on here I would have handled the situation very differently. read more
