Kate Laviolette is one of the most greediest peopoe I've ever met. Also, she never paid me for what…read moremy small fox painting had sold for. She held onto it for me because I didn't have anywhere to put it since I was sleeping out of my car at the time. She said someone bought it, but she never paid me for it, so who knows what happened. A few years ago, I would regularly go to classes and it was enjoyable. There were a couple experiences where it gave me a uncomfortable feeling about her. We did a hiking session together. Nobody showed up but me, so she and I went. I thought it was nice, but noticed that when she wanted to take a picture with me, it was just for her socials so her image would look good. Then not too long after that, there was a art event at the studio which I paid and went to. I figured it was just an art show but there was more to it. At the time, I struggled a lot more when it came to crowds. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, have fun, and to see what it was all about. I brought my sketch book to draw and I also joined in the audience to watch the aerial show (I think it was) even though I thought it was an art show. I got intense anxiety and overwhelm (probably from the energy from being in a crowd or certain people), so I left and cried in the car. I had texted Kate and told her what happened, but she didn't care. Kept my money too. Was only there for 15 or 20 minutes. So overall, these experiences showed me how greedy and fake she was. I start going back in November because I'm getting back into shape and I wanted to try the aerial classes again, but I can't afford very much, so I go with the 5 class plan for $59. My mom is the one that even helped me and I told her that. I completed the classes (except for one which I was not feeling that day, but I already showed up, so no sense in trying to get another class). I was not planning on going again (a couple of people including an instructor found that out by asking me questions) because I wanted to continue at a gym since my main focus ended up being working out/exercising. The gym is what is beneficial for me. I felt aerial yoga wasn't. Besides this reason, I didn't feel fully welcome and the instructors were not patient (my coordination is poor) except for one, but I forgot her name, I'm sorry. I came to find this past Tuesday night that my account was charged by the studio and my account was at 97 cents. I texted Kate personally. You can see the whole conversation plus more in the screenshot photos for yourselves. Which includes her trying to offer a partial refund through Venmo which is outside of her business. If she can offer that, then she could've just given me my refund. Acted fake by throwing in "we've enjoyed having you here" to again be careful as a business owner and her reputation. I emailed her because I kept checking my account on the studio website, since it kept saying my plan wasn't canceled yet and it had already been a whole day. So I told her to close my account and to refund me, or I'm going to report her and THEN she finally decided to cancel it. She also told me she would refund my original payment, but she only did a partial refund of $38 out of $59. She lied and is clearly greedy. Making it into a whole complex mess, when it couldve just been played out smoothly. She blocked me after I told her to not respond back to my text or she did after my email, I'm not sure, but I'll be spreading all this information around everywhere. I made a post about it on my Facebook and someone mentioned that they've heard of this situation happening a lot at this studio and what happened to one of their clients, so that didn't surprise me.

They offer an array of levels to choose from as well as awesome events for those that would like to be enlightened on some yogic topics. I purchased an unlimited pass and only used it once so far. The yoga teacher I encountered was Meghan and she was teaching a F2 Vinyasa class. I loved her instruction and tone. It was fluid and offered great options. I would note that you may want to tell your instructor if you are opposed to adjustments if it's not your thing. The group present that night was pretty mellow and all going at their own pace, which is fine. The vibe could have been a little less segregated but I didn't mind so much. There are props available for use and mat rental for a dollar. I suggest checking them out online to view their class offerings and pricing. If the shoe fits, go to the groupon site to see if they are offering a deal your willing to indulge in. In retrospect, I'd go for a punch card because you never know what may come up and not be able to take advantage of the full month but if your motivated, it may be right for you. They also do teacher training here as well- just to throw it out there. Great studio for first timers!!

The building housing the studio is quite large and contains several businesses within it's walls. Don't be tempted by the main door for the building, the studio has it's own door on the north side. Upon entering there's seating, clothing to peruse, free tea, malas, and natural deodorant. Bonus: there's a really funny book on men doing yoga in kilts. You really could spend a whole afternoon here. I checked in with Rose at the front desk, completed my waiver and stowed my belongings in the little cubbies near the changing rooms. The class room itself is just beautiful. Wooden floor, lots of windows, a small stage, and calming artwork. The acoustics are also good. Rose played some sweet jams which set a fun tone for class. Despite years of being upside down (gymnastics, acro yoga, etc.) I felt a bit like a baby horse in this class. Turns out silks don't come naturally to me at all. No worries tho, Rose was there for the rescue. She offered a variety of modifications for how to get into and out of the silks and poses. Classmates were friendly and didn't laugh despite my grunts of discomfort (who knew there'd be a surprise facial release where the silks supported my body). I'll definitely be coming back to check out more of their offerings.

It is just as beautiful as i remember it. There are many buildings where you will participate or can participate in various things . There are also several hiking trails available to you to use. There are currently a lot of moose in the area so if you go up and are out on the trails be sure to be on the look out. The day retreat started with some art. (this was okay, I went because my friend is into art. if i had been on my own i would have opted to go hiking instead during this time) After this was a break and then yoga class. Then lunch. They have a homemade vegetarian/vegan lunch. You can request gluten free in advance. Their food is seriously amazing! It is worth the price of the day retreat just to come and enjoy the food! It is so so good! After lunch, you can do an hour of volunteer work in the kitchen. It is the kind thing to do especially since the prices of their retreats are actually pretty afforable. give back. After that you have a couple of hours of free time to go do what you please. There is a pond you could kayak/canoe on. Or bring up your paddleboard. go hiking. Sit in the reading room. Sit on one of the hammocks in the trees. go meditate. so many choices! After that you can come back for an afternoon yoga class, and then dinner! Again so yummy! It is rare to find some place that can make such delicious homemade vegan and gluten free food. After that they do some ceremonial stuff, you can choose to participate in that or not. Highly recommend having a retreat here, it was very relaxing.

Yes that's right, hot spandex and sports bra of your favorite lady helping you stretch out muscles you haven't ever stretched. Yes, it is sexy, but amazingly wonderful for the practice of yoga, intimacy and stretching. There are some retreats where you go to get pampered, but this is not one of them. The cabins are run down, the grounds kept very simple, and the food is vegetarian, but pampering is not part of the theme of the retreat, Shoshoni is more focused on the practice of yoga and meditation. Yogis live up at the retreat and are the people who take care of your classes, your meditations, the cooking, and the serving... It almost starts to feel like camp, where you start pinpointing the ones in your head of who you want to hook up with. You have a couple different options for accommodations. I went all out and got the private cabin, which was only $115 person. I say ONLY because this also included three meals, three yoga classes, two meditations, the use of the retreat grounds, and use of the hot tub and sauna. You can pay less and stay in a same sex dorm, an electricity free cabin, or you can camp it somewhere on the Shoshoni property. Obviously, since I singed up the partner yoga class with my boyfriend, I needed the private cabin. It was his birthday, so I had to go all out. The partner yoga class was an extra $70 and lasted about an hour and half. It was the best part of the retreat. I wanted to give this retreat more stars, but I just can't. The retreat is missing that magical something that would make us want to come back. The yoga classes were too short and not advance enough, and the cabin was really outdated and old. The extra step to offer more choices for classes of different levels, and more one-on-one time with the instructors would definitely improve the score. If you go, make sure to sign up for private yoga classes, and/or massages and facials. * Star one for the steamin' partner yoga ** Sweat it up star two is for the.... SAUNA (silly goose you), which was the perfect way to end a long day *** the final star goes to the dessert at lunch on the final day, those peanut butter balls were scrumptious!
