Wedding alter for people in love that love Mountain View's
    Mary C.

What a privilege it is to be invited to a wedding, especially when it is at a spectacular park! It was news to me to find out there is a YMCA in the Rocky Mountains with over 800 acres and six chapels perfect for weddings! Never have I ever, thought of the YMCA as more than a place for children's summer camps or a fitness center. Well, I have now been educated that they host weddings and have cabins and views of the mountains that make you feel like you're in a storybook fairytale!! This location in Estes Park has nature themed road names inside the park and large buildings with fireplaces to host events and gatherings. The staff at the administration building are nice and help me navigate the park at night when I didn't know my way in the dark by giving me a lead vehicle with flashing lights. Excellent service by the catering team and bartenders at the wedding reception. Highly recommend this as a venue for a destination wedding as they really take great care of their guests!

Sleep away camp for adults! The campus is stunning and very well kept. The facilities and rooms are very clean and they have so many things to do. Came here with a very large family reunion, and it was really a great time. There was a kerfuffle with booking rooms, of which, myself and my immediate 5 folks did not benefit greatly from the mixup, but we had nice rooms. The weather was a little crazy the week we were there so the box fan in our room wasn't great the first night, but once it cooled down a bit, it was perfect for what we needed. The folks that work at the camp are extremely nice and helpful. The cafeterias aren't 5 star dining, but very good food that was consistent. Even though there was a lot of other groups our week we were there, the dining never felt too packed and there was always hot food. The ropes course was really fun and so was archery! This place was great for a large family reunion and would recommend coming back.

Archery course. Outdoor archery ends in October.

This is an excellent value for families for what you get. We have stayed in a two bedroom with fireplace the past two Octobers. Once we went in early October which was pretty busy and had beautiful fall weather. This time we went in late October and it snowed a foot, which my kids absolutely adored. It was also much more empty, which was fun for activities. Some activities had to be cancelled due to the snow. Pros: - LOCATION. So nice to have hikes within the property but also the option to go to RMNP a few minutes away. A few restaurants are an eight minute drive away. It is so beautiful. Quiet. Animals everywhere. - everything is very clean in the cabins. The cabins are a nice size for our family of four. Kids room and grownup room. Full kitchen with what you need to cook (nothing fancy and no dishwasher). I definitely recommend a fireplace cabin. - great staff and activities - a lot of free activities during the day (pool, mini golf, staff led seminars) and most of the paid ones are a very good value (we especially enjoy archery!) To be aware: - the art center is a bit pricey - on site food is not the best. Better to go a few miles out for restaurants or grocery shop. We ate most meals in our cabin due to convenience. - definitely recommend having a car - check in and out times are a bit restrictive. Both times we were able to get into our room early though.

    1. Absolutely beautiful campus. The admin building is great to enjoy the view and read a book. There's basketball courts, pool, craft center, library, etc. 2. If you have Verizon as your phone carrier, you won't get much signal 3. There are deer around the campus. I walked out the door and accidentally scared some grazing deer 4. My friends and I got altitude sickness so drink plenty of walk 5. We stayed in Alpen Inn. The room was a little musty but it provided everything we needed. I hope to try out a lodge next time.

Phenomenal location, friendly staff. 4.5 stars, rounded up, because after the challenges, everything was terrific. One really important thing to note is that CHECKIN IS AT 6 PM. This is noted on the acknowledgement of the reservation, but nowhere else. Not in the reminder email, nor in the nice friendly reminder phone call the day before. We pulled in at 3 hoping to check in - the staff were very friendly & said, no, checkin is at 6. They were able to get us a room at 5 pm, which was nice - but I do wish it had been more clearly stated that *checkin is at 6 pm* - since that is not the industry standard. That said, everything else was fabulous. The room we (finally) ended up in was great - with a balcony and a fridge. There was a microwave downstairs which I used to heat my tea. It's a gorgeous location, and there were lots of folks around - children, families, dogs - so it overall felt like a super welcoming and friendly place. AND it's about 10 minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and far away from the construction in Estes Park. Despite the kerfuffle we had early on, we would DEFINITELY return here.

Idyllic, peaceful, serene, quiet and enjoyable, the YMCA Camp of the Rockies was a pleasant stay. Beautiful views of the mountains. Great location --close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. The lodge where we stayed was spartan. Remember, this is a place to enjoy the mountains without other distractions. Room was furnished minimalistic, yet with a comfortable bed. Our room also experienced years of deferred maintenance. Examples: toilet seat broken, bathroom sink leaks over sink, no working ice machines, carpeting in need of replacement, no latch on balcony screen porch, window would not stay open without some kind of a prop (I used 2 soda cans to hold window open to allow ventilation). There was minimal lighting and few electrical outlets. The price per night seemed high for the quality of the accommodations. But probably rationalized by the beautiful setting we experienced. The YMCA provides meals in a single pay as you go dining hall. The food was acceptable. Buffet style, all you can eat. There are lots of activities at the YMCA. Would be a great place for kids or families. I'd like to return and stay in one of the cabins -- from the outside they appear to be better maintained.

Stayed three days with our family for a short vacation. Stayed in the hotel style rooms, but stayed in the cabins a few years ago. The location is amazing with stunning views. There were free and fun programs throughout the day for our kids to be a part of. The mini golf, tennis courts, horseshoes, basketball, Gaga ball are all free to use. My son loved fishing at Glacial creek and caught and released some trout. My daughter loved making jewelry at the craft area. We lost count of how many elk and deer we saw. The food was good and we got lots of treats from the general store or the cafe I. The admin building. Definitely recommend staying here or visiting and walking around.

Great place to stay in Estes Park near the Bear Lake access entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The property extends throughout a beautiful wooded area. Loved to be able to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and be greeted by a family of elk or deer. The two bedroom cabins have a room with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a single bed and bunk beds. There is a kitchen with dishes for 6, stove, fridge, pots and pans. The dining room/living room has a table for 4. Bring shampoo, conditioner and soap, unless you like using Dial all purpose soap/shampoo/conditioner. Nice to sit on the porch in an Adirondack chair. Lots of activities are available from a library where you can check out a book to an arts and crafts room where you can make jewelry, fused glass or a batik scarf. Grab a putter for mini golf or a racquet to play tennis or pickle ball. Dogs are welcome, but make sure to clean up. Poop bags are available throughout the trails. It's fun to stay at the YMCA!!

We came here for an end-of-summer vacation and to show the little one a good time. Last time we were in Estes Park she was just 2 so she does not remember much. But this trip already has made an impression and she said that when she grows up she will bring her kids here. We stayed in one of the lodges and not a cabin. Because it is the end of the season it is not full at all. I think there are one or two other families on the floor, but far away from us. So it is quiet. The rooms are comfortable but modest. No TV, which is fine. No shampoo. They do give you towels. The bed is comfortable as are the pillows. The main reason you come is for the actives. There are so many activities, dozens a day and most are free. We saw wildlife at dusk as we walked to the playground, and that was exciting. And then we saw moose by the putt putt golf. The people who work here are super nice and friendly. Overall, this is a great place for families and to unwind. Totally relaxed atmosphere. We will return for sure.

My kids went to camp here, and absolutely loved it. The views, the weather, the food everything was wonderful!

YMCA of the Rockies is the kind of place I would give 10 stars if I could. I have been coming here since I was a boy and it never fails to deliver a fantastic experience. Situated on the western border of Estes Park, which is one of my top five favorite places I've visited in the world, the Estes Park Center YMCA provides the perfect camp experience for anyone traveling with a group, especially if you have children of any age. I've brought small kids and grown ones and there's so much to do and discover here that we always leave feeling like we've only scratched the surface. Lodging is available at a wide range of levels and costs. From a hostel setting, to a lodge, on up through rustic cabins and four bedroom vacation homes, the Center has an option that will suit your group size and budget. For all guests, basketball, tennis, mini-golf, arts & crafts, and guided nature hikes and star gazing walks are provided at no extra costs. Some for-pay activities include horse back riding, fly fishing, archery and more. The staff in the summertime where tags listing their city of origin, which it typically somewhere outside Colorado. Most are teenagers, very friendly and helpful. Estes Park downtown area is good for at least one full day of shopping and eating, with food and other unique boutique businesses lining the main strip and the river-side space the lines Fall River on the south side of Highway 34. All are charming and enjoyable. And, there's Rocky Mountain National Park, the gate to which is less than 10 minutes drive from Estes Park Center. RMNP is *inexhaustible* as a setting for outdoor exploration at all skill, health, and age levels. If you were drawn to the kind of beauty captured in the Lord of The Rings films, a few hours hike from Bear Lake and you will find yourself in an area that rivals Peter Jackson's New Zealand. No joke. I've rented two bedroom cabins with and without fireplaces, and a four-bedroom cabin with fireplace on my recent visit. Deer walk through the ares throughout the day. Hummingbirds will fly right up to your face (a little terrifying the first time). When it rains in the town, it's snowing on the peaks, washing them white with snow. We have always come here in the summer. If you want to drive to the top of RMNP, I recommend late June through August. Estes Park Center is my #1 summer family vacation destination for amazing outdoor fun, cost, and overall unmatched quality of experience. Could not recommend it higher!

I was supposed to run a 1/2 marathon and when looking for lodging in Estes, I just booked the least expensive place I could find that was dog friendly. I had no idea how cool this place was. I didn't even know my husband grew up coming here as a kid. I'm still giving it 5 stars despite the outdated and rooms not so clean. The rooms were dusty and if you looked behind things you would find garbage and more dust. Normally that would knock off a couple stars lol but the entire resort has way too much too offer to knock off any stars. We brought our lacrosse stuff and played lacrosse. We took advantage of our our golf. We enjoyed our walks and the beautiful views. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options. The eggs were bland and the waffles quite gritty but hey, we had food. We stayed in the hotel rooms and WiFi was rough but we really didn't need it. We will stay here again.

My husband had a conference here and it was a beautiful place. There was a dog park so we took our good boi there. No dogs were there but it was still a beautiful place to take him off leash.

    Can I get dinner here?

Yes, the YMCA has a buffet dinner every night. It is reasonably priced and is good.

I was directed to the beginner area with the understanding that staff would be hands-on and supportive with new riders. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The staff lacked warmth and did not provide the level of hands-on guidance that beginners need. When I asked for help, the assistance felt hesitant and dismissive rather than instructional. I was sent down the beginner slope without being taught how to stop, slow down, or fall safely. As a result, I gained speed quickly, fell backward, and hit my head on the ice (despite wearing a helmet). I was visibly distressed and remained on the slope for some time without staff checking on me or intervening, which was concerning given that other beginners were actively using the area. Due to the lack of instruction, attentiveness, and overall care, I did not feel safe continuing and was unable to use the snowboarding portion of my visit. I reported the issue on-site and later contacted guest services to share my concerns. I hope management takes beginner safety, staff engagement, and hands-on instruction more seriously moving forward, as this experience did not feel supportive or safe for someone new to the sport.

In the morning they have a nice spread for breakfast including fruit and cereal, and also have some hot items including eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon. Definitely enough to get you fueled and ready for the day. Then there is a van they run that takes you right to the gondola leaving at 8:30, 9, 9:30. Taking the first van gets you there right for the start of day. And you don't have to worry about parking, walking, and paying at the resort. Rides back were at 3:15 and 4:15 which gave plenty of time at the mountain. I didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but it looked nice. My buddy and I finally made the drive over from Arizona and had a blast skiing here. Breckenridge Ski Resort (or just Breck) is a popular resort that is owned and operated by Vail Resorts, Inc. We have Epic Passes and used them while we were here. Breckenridge Ski Resort opened in 1961 and has a total of 35 chair lifts. It has five peaks that are part of the Ten Mile Range. We stayed in nearby Frisco and made the short drive over each morning. We then took the BreckConnect Gondola to Peak 8 and began our day there. Lower Peak 8 is home to the base village of Breckenridge Ski Resort. There are places to eat, shop and rent gear in this area. For trails, there is a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs that you can access from Lower Peak 8. Check out Ullr, the Norse god of Snow statue while you are here at base village. My buddy and I are intermediate skiers that mix in some black runs here and there. I personally have been skiing since my teenage years. We spent most of our first day skiing runs off the Colorado and Rocky Mountain Superchair lifts to get our warmup reps in. We then finished our day hitting some blue runs over at Peak 6. There are a number of places to grab food and drinks. We hit Sevens (at the base of Peak 7) for an early morning Bloody Mary. We also grabbed lunch at T-Bar over at base village. But for the most part, we snacked on granola bars and other goodies that we carried in our pockets. We like to grab hotels that have a big continental breakfast so that we don't have to spend a lot of cash on food on the slopes. Day Two we wanted more challenging runs. Some people told us that Whale's Tail is a good challenge and fun to ski on. Whale's Tail is a double black diamond run that has a 604-foot drop, from 12,858 to 12,254 feet. It is nestled between Peak 7 and 8 and you have to take the Imperial Express lift to get to it. Imperial Express is the highest lift in North America at 12,840 feet. Crossing the catwalk in strong windy weather was no fun. But you get beautiful views of the entire mountain from the top of Whale's Tail once you get there. If was worth the challenge and we had fun skiing down it. The rest of the day we took it easy and skied mostly green and blue runs over at Peak 8 and 9 to wrap up our trip. We enjoyed hanging out in the town of Breckenridge after our two days of skiing. The town itself is very charming and has a number of bars and restaurants. Breckenridge attracts all sorts of outdoor enthusiasts in both the summer and winter. Breckenridge Ski Resort has made the town a popular destination for skiers since it opened in the 60's. The town is definitely worth a stop after a day on the slopes.

My impressions of this park are probably impacted by the fact that they desperately need snow. (As…read moremost ski resorts out here do). However other factors also influenced my impression. They need better access to maps, both the posted sign size and paper maps. For example, a trail map at bottom of each lift and at top of lift would be good too esp when more than 1 lift ends at same location. And why not put a map of ski village buildings on the trail map to help with orientation. I wish they would have groomed the trails more so in the morning so snow would have been fresher. It just seemed to make it more icy by grooming at night. Since many trails were closed people were condensed into those trails that were open. Squeezing more people into a smaller area will course make lift lines crowded but also puts more traffic on the slopes. The lift lines were absolutely ridiculous on the weekend. I didn't pay that much for lift ticket to repeatedly stand in lift line for 20 minutes. Also it would have been nice to have an increase in ski patrol monitoring some of the trails to discourage the aggressive behavior including the boarder who purposely ran into me and knocked me down. (When they laugh and keep going you know it was on purpose) We purchased lift tickets months ago so I don't remember the details of the process except that it wasn't straightforward. I ordered lift tickets for both myself and my husband so assuming I did the same thing each time but no he got a pass with early up access and I didn't. Weird. Okay here are some positives: I do like the availability of restrooms throughout the resort including up on some slopes. That is very nice. I appreciated sharing the slopes with amputees and individuals using wheelchairs. It is nice to see the inclusivity. I also really enjoyed going up to Sunspot lodge in the evening for sunset. That was very fun.

Slopes are amazing. They have just about anything for every skill level. Love that they have a lot…read moreof moguls that you can dip into while skiing down a green or blue. It's also nice that they have a lot of free parking and very easy to get to from denver.
