We cancelled the policy and my dad maintained all of his other policies with Allstate. This week my DAD received a collections notice for a month of the premium for my MOM'S umbrella policy. No phone calls, no letters, nothing. They sent him to collections. I just called to resolve the issue and there was no apology, no explanation and I had to pay the mont of the premium. This is absolutely unbelievable and a horrible way to treat a loyal client. The amount of money is inconsequential, the distress this caused my father is horrible. He's 81 years old and has never paid anything late his entire life. He was devastated to receive a notice from a collection company and I am shocked and disappointed by how this was handled when we called in to try to resolve it. The account has been paid in full. I really hope that $45 was worth losing a long term client over.

I had to spend my entire morning, by myself, while at work, doing the research to figure out what happened and why the money had not yet been collected. I even had to pay penalties and fees that I've now been accessed unnecessarily only to speak with you after all that and be treated in such a dismissive and demeaning way. And for you be come out and say this was my fault is Outrageous!! Again, I am a federal employee, and with all that is going on in/with the federal government, you don't think I know the stakes for me? You don't think I know my own bank account number? I know and tried to stress to you that it is imperative that my taxes are filed and paid, if owed, properly. Your stance of cutting me off and implying that the increased anxiety I'm feeling, which has been super induced by this situation, is unwarranted, is beyond insensitive, and just plain rude and disgusting. As an example - the car was declared totaled, so when I called the office to cancel the policy, the staff member I talked to (can't remember her name) told me not to cancel the policy, but rather suspend it until I got a replacement vehicle in order to to keep the accrued benefits of the current policy, which she did. I'm not surprised by this - Darrell has been our agent for many years, and this level of service has always been his forte.

I was calling in today asking about the bill and trying to decide if I wanted to stay with Erie or switch companies and the guy kept repeating "well we close in 5 minutes" or "well I can do that tomorrow, we close in 4 minutes". Like I get it I work a nine to five too but if a customer calls in with a question about a random bill for almost half a grand you should answer the damn question. Andrew was rude, impatient, and had the most useless answers to my questions. The agency is not available after hours or on weekends so I would advise not insure with them.
