GEICO's customer service has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with an…read moreinsurance company. Their records incorrectly showed my son as having two accidents in 2025, one in January and one in August. The January accident never happened. At GEICO's request, we contacted his prior insurer and obtained documentation specifically stating **"No Claims Reported."** We submitted exactly what GEICO asked for and believed the matter was finally resolved. Instead, GEICO created another obstacle. They now say they need insurance history from my son's grandmother's policy because their system somehow associates him with her. The only connection is that he was a **passenger** in her vehicle when his sister was driving it during the August 2025 accident. The absurd part is that his grandmother was ALSO insured by GEICO. Rather than simply checking its own records, GEICO is telling her to contact GEICO, request her insurance history from GEICO, send those GEICO records to us, and then have us submit those records BACK TO GEICO. That is bureaucracy at its worst. What makes this especially troubling is that GEICO originally quoted us one rate. Their system then produced an inaccurate accident history that resulted in a higher premium. Each time we provide the documentation they request, another requirement seems to appear. At this point, I have serious concerns about whether this process reflects bad-faith insurance practices. I cannot speak to GEICO's intent, but the experience certainly creates the impression of a system where customers are quoted one price, an internal record is then used to justify a higher premium, and correcting that record is made so exhausting that some customers may simply give up and pay. If that is not GEICO's intention, then it urgently needs to examine its procedures. No one seems willing to take ownership of a very simple problem. Instead, the burden is repeatedly placed on the customer to disprove GEICO's own inaccurate information--including information GEICO itself should have access to. GEICO spends enormous amounts advertising convenient service and happy customers. My experience has been the exact opposite. GEICO should spend less money advertising great customer service and more money actually providing it.

Ms. Harris was very professional, responsive and helpful, answering all of my questions in a prompt manner. A good impression for Geico, which we had been insured with for over 30 years before switching to another local company because of an issue with our homeowner's insurance. I would definitely work with her again.

I called the 1-800 Geico number to get a quote for auto insurance and home insurance. The woman I…read morespoke with was wonderful and very helpful. However, I was then connected to the local Annapolis office. The agent there was terrible; he increased my auto insurance coverage beyond what I said I wanted without my permission and then basically tried to scare me into keeping the more expensive coverage. I decided these were not the people I wanted to work with so I took my business elsewhere. Lo and behold, a few months later, I started getting bills for the home insurance policy through Geico. I called and cancelled the policy and was told that it would be backdated so that I would owe no money since I have an actual policy with a company that treated me with dignity and respect, unlike the local Geico agent. However, I recently got a bill from a collection agency for this nonexistent homeowners insurance that I never actually signed up for. At lot of wasted time and energy has gone into getting this policy that I never wanted cancelled. I recommend looking elsewhere for an insurance agent.

She was very professional and was able to answer all my questions and educate me at the same time. Remember that most people here complaining need a place to share their stories. I understand some users might have different problems and needs than me (hence so many negative reviews), but my experience with them has been nothing but a dream! I wish I could remember the name of the customer service staff who talked to me because they definitely need praise! I was involved in a car accident where an uninsured driver was at fault, and they were able to answer all my questions. The two ladies who talked to me on the phone were so clear and patient. I'm a total dummy about insurance and legalities and its jargons, but they made my life so much easier! In a few hours, I had an appointment with an excellent damage evaluator (which was also a great body shop), and I was put in touch with a rental company. Everything has been a smooth ride. I'm so sorry this wasn't the same experience for everyone. But I beg you to consider Geico as an insurer, they were SO great to me!!

Lately, over the past 12 months, GEICO appears to have taken the practice of charging people in advance of the bill due date. That is to say, you pay your 6 Month Premium off inside of 4 months and are expecting to coast for the remaining two months before renewing. GEICO sends you a bill right away within weeks wanting PAYMENT FOR EARLY START OF THE COVERAGE. When you call and speak to their customer service representatives, you get a lot of incoherent information that makes no sense but they keep pressing you for the restart of your term 1-2 months before its due to actually start. When you ask them, what happens to the funds you have paid in advance if you choose to leave, they say that they will reimburse you for the extra months paid for. However, they refuse to put it in writing via email or written letter. GEICO has always been responsive when I needed auto insurance services and I am grateful but this advanced, early billing is questionable to say the least.
