Absolutely fabulous, intimate, and delicious spot. Everything was sooo fresh and beautifully presented. Make sure to make a reservation as this place is small. Wine list was spectacular too

Really cute maritime themed seafood restaurant. Food was a 4 for me - maybe because I wasn't terribly hungry, or maybe because Barcelona is the city of seafood so the bar is high. But I loved various whimsical touches and the extremely attentive service that definitely bumped up the experience to a 5 overall. Appetizers - snails, olives, sardines were good but in line with expectations for Barcelona. Langoustine carpaccio is very interesting and worth making a trip for just to see what it is - especially since langoustines are a local specialty. It's so thin and translucent that it's almost a soft crepe. The green sauce that encircled it went well with it but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. The whole dish is delicate and unique. Razor clams in saffron sauce was also good. For me it was really two dishes combined into one. Razor clams plus a follow up dish consisting of a bed of slightly vinegary carrots and other veggies that neutralized the richness of the razor clams and cleaned the palate. Razor clams in Barcelona are sweet which is different from razor clams I've had in other places. The only small minus is the clams had some sand and shell fragments which is a pet peeve of mine. The rose red prawn looked gorgeous and was good but unfortunately didn't quite stand out as much relative to other grilled red prawns I've had in Barcelona for instance at Boqueria Market or by the beach. Same went for the raw clam. Finally, I liked the cheesecake dessert primarily because amusingly they gave me cute silicone spatulas as eating utensils. Other cute touches - they served bread in a container that looks like a folded paper boat. The bill came in a wooden treasure chest. I saw someone order mussels and they came on a rock as if they're barnacles on it. I also really appreciated that they do half size for the entrees. It's a great place to try a bunch of different things like I did. Overall enjoyable experience. Check out their Instagram @estimarzafra for more food photos than you can see on Yelp.

My husband and I went here for dinner on our honeymoon in Barcelona. It was such an incredible experience, and we had the chance to try so many unique dishes. My favorites were the sea urchin, the oysters, and the shrimp and caviar tartare. It's definitely on the more expensive side, but very much worth it in my opinion. The wine list is extensive, and the servers were happy to help us pick out a bottle that paired well with our meal. Also, the cheesecake is amazing (and very different than any I'd had before) so be sure to leave room for that!

This gem is hidden away inside the alleyways of the Born neighborhood. Rafa Zafra (an el Bulli alum who's got a decorated resume) created this restaurant to serve impeccable seafood and it didn't disappoint at all. We had an amazing sole fillet, razor clams, rose red prawns, and much much more in what was definitely a splurge meal. The cheese cake dessert was also a delight! The staff were great company and service was outstanding. They had a great grasp of English as well. I highly recommend booking online, and grabbing an earlier timeslot so you have access to the widest selection of seafood before the locals arrive, most of which were probably caught that morning. You can pick what you want to eat from a vast array of fresh items on ice, and you pay by weight.

WOW. I was recommended this place by a seasoned Toronto chef who's spent a lot of time (over a decade) in Spain. He said that the chef, Rafa Zafra was a "chef's chef". Obviously I had to go, so I booked a reservation for four at 9 PM on a Saturday night. Had to book a few weeks in advance, and was lucky to snag such a spot in this tiny restaurant. From top to bottom, fantastic meal. It would be too much to go through every dish, but a highlight was definitely getting to pick our own fish from the fresh lineup. Raw fish is held on ice by the kitchen. We landed on a John Dorey fish that was so fresh and lovely. We also tried goose barnacles and razor clams for the first time. Other favourite were the thick fries with peppers and the chickpea stew with Red Rose shrimp is a must. Get that shrimp in some form! The tomato salad could be a piece of art. Definitely go. Please go.

So glad we found this place to dine for our last night in Barcelona. The service, food, environment were all exceptional. This should be a Michelin Star dining experience. We asked our waiter what he recommended and nothing disappointed.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

This restaurant was literally right next to our stay in Barcelona--skipping it felt like a crime,…read moregiven the rave reviews. So, on a rainy afternoon, we gave it a shot. We arrived just after lunch opening and were the first customers. The guy at the counter was... efficient. He simply told us to pick what we wanted, tossed it in a bin, and that was that. No explanation of pricing or preparation methods. When we asked how they'd cook it, he casually offered "fried or grilled." Obviously, we chose grilled--why fry fresh seafood? We picked two giant prawns, two octopus tentacles, and two fish (since hubby can't have shellfish). He asked if we wanted salad or soup--reviews hyped the soup, so we went with that. Then he handed us a receipt, told us we were order #3, and sent us to the bar. At the bar, we ordered two sangrias and a water. The bartender asked if we wanted bread and sauce. Sure, why not? We assumed they were included. Surprise! The tiny baguettes cost €0.50 each, and the mystery "house sauce" (a questionable mix of thousand island and horseradish) was an extra €1. We only realized the charge when we saw the total: €73. Oh well, too late now. Then came the food pickup experience--chaotic, to say the least. The server practically barked at us to bring our receipt, aggressively crossed off items, and handed over soups and octopus, crammed onto a greasy tray. No effort at plating, just food haphazardly dumped onto plates. The second round--grilled fish and prawns--was more of the same. Now, the verdict: Soup (5/5) - Delicious and reasonably priced at €6. Would order again. Bread & Sauce (0/5) - Not free, not worth it. Hard pass. Octopus (€31.80 for two tentacles, 1/5) - Overpriced, greasy, and drowning in molten salt. Basically, eating a sodium bomb. Grilled Fish (€10.50 & €8.50, 3/5) - Decent, but unnecessarily oily. Grilled Prawns (€5.59, 0/5) - Mushy, not fresh, and borderline inedible. Final thoughts? Not worth it. With so many incredible food spots in Barcelona, why waste your meal quota here? If you want quality seafood, go to Cervecería Catalana--we spent €5 more, but a meal a thousand times better. Spend wisely and eat like a king.

I've had fried anchovies before but this was too heavy for us - Octopus: This was a bit oily but but not as much as the anchovies. Potatoes were nice and soft and absorbed all the sauces. - Small Clams: My favorite dish out of all we've ordered. Although the clams were small, the sauce it was cooked in was delicious! [Service] - Line up, order what you want, some seafood have various cook styles so they will ask you which you'd prefer, pay, find a table, and pick up at the pick up window once your buzzer goes off. Two of us picked 5 types of seafood, a salad and a fish soup. We tried the sangria as our drinks. Everything is beyond fantastic! We would highly recommend this seafood gem to all our friends. Here are a few tips for the first timers: 1) The workers at the order area don't understand English well. We pointed at the seafood for ordering. 2) Recommended to have the fish soup over mixed salad as an appetizer. The fish soup is made with lots of fish and ginger; and it carries so much flavor. 3) The mussels are a must-have and are so cheap (Under 10 Euros for huge portions). It's recommended to prepare in two ways: white wine and tomato sauce 4) The La Paradeta sauce (I e. A green basil sauce) goes very well with shrimps and razor clams. 5) The fried calamari was so delicious and perfectly paired with drizzles of lemon juice. Yet, it's so expensive (24 Euros for a very small portion). It doesn't feel as worth it as compared to something like lobsters (29 Euros/single lobster). 6) I noticed many people ordered a bottle of wine instead of Sangria. Will need to try next time!
