    Eggplant Paella made vegan
    Andy N.

Louro is a small restaurant tucked away in Las Ramblas that manages to escape the touristy nature down the street. It was a good spot for my first meal in Barcelona with my bachelorette group. There aren't a lot of fully plant-based, vegan friendly options here but I was able to work with their Aubergine Rice (aka Eggplant Paella) which was around €18 minus their garlic aioli. Being my first paella of the trip, I didn't realize how large it would be but having just got off a flight, I was ready. The paella was pretty good but quite salty if I'm being honest. Having only eggplants be in the fold and no other veggies (which they clearly had) made this decent but not exciting. While the food was just okay, I did enjoy the service and our server was so kind to treat us all to shots at the end to celebrate the bride-to-be. Salut!

Loved this place! We found the recommendation on ForeverBarcelona.com and it did not disappoint! We ordered tinto verano and croquettes to start, steak and turbot for mains, and cheesecake and couldn't for dessert and every bite was better than the last. The ambiance is so lovely and warm, as is the service! Highly recommend this hidden gem off Las Ramblas.

Service was great. It's tucked in a building in las ramblas. Would certainly go again.

This is a truly hidden gem of a place!!! This is NOT your tourist trap place. The service is A1--ask for Bennie and he will take care of you, so as everyone else. The Pork ribs, the Paella with squid ink, and the Grilled Peppers are to die for--delicioso!!!

This is the hidden gem, cozy, hole in the wall dining experience you've been looking for in Barcelona. Benny and friends provide an amazing experience with fantastic food and great service. The Galatian octopus is a must try!

Right on Las Ramblas, but hidden away, so not as touristy as most in this area. Cozy, romantic atmosphere, but on the more casual side.. Great Paella and appetizers. I had the Seafood Paella, and it was perfectly al dente short grain rice that soaked up the deliciousness of the fresh seafood. Appetizers were also amazing. Service was very friendly, but spread thin the night we were there, so a little on the slow side. Definitely recommend.

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! Comfortable ambiance great for date night or casual meals!!!

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

The menu has a nice variety of items, and they're all pretty small so you can try a lot. Our favorite was the squid sandwich, a super unique must get! We also really liked the garlic shrimp, which had a nice fragrant flavor from the heads. The tiramisu was also delightful with a nice balance of sweet and bitter flavors. We heard the razor clams were really good, but they didn't have any the day we visited which was a bummer!
