Wow! Where do I begin! I started going to Lyn back in 2001; we have had a long loving relationship. I would like to think I am out of eye brow rehab, but she may think otherwise LOL But with the help of Lyn my eyebrows have come a long way, and in the words of Lyn, "they are sexpot"! I would NEVER trust anyone else with my waxing or facial needs!!! A lot of Lyn's clients are unaware of her facial services, but let me be the first to tell you THEY ARE AMAZING! The spas give you more fluff than anything where as Lyn will make sure she is keeping your skin clear, and beautiful! Extractions are actually done, maintenance plans are provided she goes above and beyond. If you don't keep up your skin at home you can't expect her to be a miracle worker. Just like with working out in the gym diet is still 70% of your success. The same goes for your skin. You need to be at home following the maintenance Lyn (or Sarah) suggests and stick to it. OR you will be back to square one. No one, but Lyn will EVER touch my face. Lyn's dermafile treatments completely restored my skin, which restored my life! Beginning around March 2019, and escalating quickly in the months following, I had developed huge, deep seeded, hormonal acne bumps all over my face. They looked like bulbs and were often painful. Lyn changed my life. Literally changed my life. I have sent about 10 people to her because of how she's changed my lifeeeeeee. That's how amazing she is. I've dealt with acne from the age of 16 (I'm 27 now). I have tried everything - derms (can't stand going to them), Proactiv, Murads, retinol, Clarisonic, at home chemical peels, Paula's choice, natural remedies, and the list goes on and on and on. I've been working for over a decade to clear my skin and nothing has really worked. Not only did I have normal acne, I had a face full of comodonal acne - the stuff that hangs out under your skin. I see someone new has left a review with four stars stating it's because of Lyn's hours. I don't think thats complete fair, mainly because Lyn is running her own business by herself. Yes it's only during the week, but Lyn will work well into the evening sometimes until after 7pm to accommodate working schedules. Just like we work a five day week, Mon-Fri, Lyn deserves the same. She provides extraordinary service so, she does book up quickly. Trying to make an appointment at the last minute can be difficult when you're short on availability. Lyn, Lyn, Lyn...I almost don't want to tell you about her because I don't want to share. I was blown away by her professionalism, knowledge and honesty. I thought I knew what I wanted. ( I ALWAYS know what I want. Lol.) I asked Lyn to arch my brows, which I've been "slightly threading" for years and ahe flat out refused to (in her words) "do me the disservice of ruining my natural arch". Instead, she gave me some oil to maintain my brows. I was doubtful, but it worked like magic. I've been going to Lyn monthly since March 2014. I initially found her on Yelp, looking for eyebrow waxing services. I was pleased with how she shaped them after my first visit, but my eyebrows now after 2 years of 'rehab' look better than I imagined they could. Lyn also carries an eyebrow growth serum. I was skeptical at first, but it actually works and is much cheaper than comparable products. Last year, I also started getting facials and Dermafile services from her. I had acne scars and pitting. Most of that is gone now. I don't break out as often, and when I do, Lyn takes care of the scars with Dermafile. She's given me a few skincare tips as well, and really listened to me when we had a conversation about my concerns. She's made product recommendations for me from Dermalogica (a line she carries) and when that didn't work out for me, the drug store. She really is concerned about her clients' skin. She always reminds me to change my pillowcases regularly (every other day), which has made a huge difference. Other things: Lyn is meticulous about cleanliness and the products she uses. One would assume this is a given, but it isn't. Like someone else said, she is now a line item in my monthly budget. I also make sure to book at the end of each appointment (sometimes two months in advance) to avoid having to scramble to be squeezed in, though she has fit me in for an eyebrow wax the same day. I have had brow difficulty for several years. I have had my brows professionally waxed, tweezed and threaded. I have had very, very, very expensive brow shaping by "professionals" who work on celebrities, and I have also gotten inexpensive brow shaping done at the nail salon or the kiosks in the mall. I have tried it all and I have rarely been consistently pleased. Typically the person takes off too much, or if they do a great job, they cannot duplicate what they did when I return. About a week ago, I got my brows done at the same spa where I get my manicures and pedicures. I needed my brows done as well because I had been growing them out for three months after the last brow mishap, and so on a whim, I thought I would just ask the spa to wax my brows. They do an amazing job on my manicures and pedicures, so I naively thought they would do just as great a job on my brows. I was mistaken. The woman arched my right brow and took hair off of my left brow, but did not arch it. When I asked her why one brow was arched and the other was not, she said she could not arch it. . . huh?!? Anyway, I ended up leaving with my brows looking vastly different from each other. I looked crazy! So I searched yelp, which is my go to place for honest feedback on services, gyms, and restaurants, and found Estique. The feedback on Lyn caught my eye because almost all of the reviewers were talking about something called "brow rehab" and how when they first started seeing Lyn, their brows were really messed up (I am paraphrasing) and how much Lyn brought their brows back to life. I booked a session with Lyn on-line, the brow rehab artist using My Time. Lyn called me and talked to me briefly about my concerns something I really appreciated. The day of my visit, well, all I can say is Lyn is AMAZING!!!. She did not just start removing hair from my face. She gave me a consultation. She explained to me how important the shape of my brows are to my face. She asked me if people often tell me to smile or say I look mean. I responded yes. She showed me how the shape of my brows were making my lips look like they were turned down and thus it made me appear as if I had a perpetual frown. She showed me how the fact that my brows lined up with the end of my nose made my nose look wider. She also showed me how removing hair from the top of my brows, a no-no, makes your forehead look bigger. Basically, the shape of my brows was aging my face and even made me look fatter. Anyway, I am giving all of her secrets away which she probably wouldn't appreciate. Needless to say, we had this conversation prior to her removing even one strand of hair. In no time at all Lyn had fixed me up and then she went on to explain. . . yes, that I would be in brow rehab for a while, but in no time, the fullness that I want in my brows would return. I'll be honest, when I first found Lyn on Yelp I was very skeptical because it's very rare that you find ANY business with a 5 star review with more 2-3 reviews. I read pretty much every review that was posted and decided to go anyway. I was VERY nervous but on my way I came to grips with the worst case scenario that I may leave out with little to no eyebrows. They grow back right?! Just met Lyn by sheer happenstance. Was in the area for a dermatology appointment and then had a hair appointment 2 hours later. I live in Columbia MD so needed to kill time. I needed my eyebrows and face waxed. I found Lyn here on Yelp. The reviews were phenomenal. Well let me say - no lies being told here!!! Estique is amazing. I was that person that did not believe. When I first started I was on a 2-week schedule of getting my brows waxed. Severe unibrow. I was told if I started service that I would eventually get to weeks, months, semi-annual. I am currently up to 2 months time and they still look great. Highly recommend. read more
