A massive game shop that takes their cards, games, and community very seriously and I love to see it! My friends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was some sort of tournament happening at the tables that was timed with multiple rounds. These tables take up about half of the shop, so it was very impressive to see and all very organized! The rest of the shop has a ton of card/board games in one corner, a long display case filled with collectible cards of all kinds (namely, Pokemon cards is what my friends were here for), a corner for DND books, dice, etc., and then a few end cap style shelves with other game and fandom accessories. There's something for everyone here and it was all super lovely! The pricing here is perhaps $1-2 more expensive than a few card shops more local to us, but they had a really lovely and extensive collection, some cards which we had never seen before either, so it was worth it! My husband and I saw this store when we were walking into CVS. We decided to walk in, and I am super happy that we did. This place was filled with super unique games. We met some people that were really into D+D. They told us the different guides we can use and videos we can watch to learn how to play. They also told us to check out the event calendar to see dates when others play. When we walked over to the calendar, we saw the tables and game board on a shelf. I talked to an employee and she was super nice. We found out that you can bring food and drinks in ( be very careful though). You can bring in your own games or xards. You can also grab one on the shelf and play with it. She actually showed us a demo of how to play one. We had a lot of fun. We were told that there is a game night on Tuesdays. Most people met each other here, and they come to play every week. We would love to come back with some of my siblings to eat and then play a few new games. Store has a great inventory and prices are not marked up beyond the prices that are normally listed on the items in the store unlike other stores in the area. The real problem is customer service. Only 2 other customers were in the store and they were busy playing a game. I asked simplistic questions and they didn't seem to care. Also I noticed they had an odor and look of uncleanliness. I have been in 4 or 5 times now and they stunk like 3 of the times I have been there. It doesn't take much to shower once in a while when doing customer service. Also speech was rather crass for no reason. I get that is their normal speech, but doesn't take much to just use respectful conversations around customers. Like throwing F-bombs around rather loudly while customers are in the store. I also noticed that younger people were treated a lot different than older. They were excited to see someone in their 30s, but if you looked older their service was downgraded as if because you were older you didn't deserve their attention. Their website is horrible like a bunch of teenagers experimenting with the computer. They recommended using the bar code and using discord, but didn't even have it listed on their website. I mentioned I was paying the higher price for a book a lot cheaper online, because I wanted to support the store. Their comment was well then buy the book somewhere else. I used to really like this place until today. I walked in and was unwelcomed by dirty looks and the stink of Tacobell, Mountaindew, and unwashed butts, and balls. I heard the employee behind the cash register say to his friends (who do not work there) "hold on, I'll clear these two out of here" in reference to myself and another customer that just walked in. I was just in this location of Eternal Games earlier in the week and had spent a fair amount of money on board games. I also ordered another game they didn't have on hand. The employee told me it would be in the next day from the other location in the area. I left my name and number. I said I would be back the next day to purchase the game but I was unable. I was also hoping for a confirmation call saying he did have the game on hand. Today, When I inquired in person, about the game I ordered, I was met with a great deal of attitude, questioning, and resentment. In fact, They did not have the game I ordered. I never received a call. I was told the game was there briefly but taken back to the other location. Why not call, why not hold it an extra day or two? This is pretty disappointing considering I told the employee I talked to earlier in the week that I would rather spend my money at his store rather than Amazon. Clearly, I interrupted play time this afternoon and the guy had no idea what I was talking about. He didn't try to resolve the problem nor did he even see the problem. Went there for the first time last week excited a local card shop was finally in my area only to be disappointed in the customer service. Employees were super vague with any questions I had and made me feel like they didn't even want to be there and just wanted me out the door. Maybe I came at a bad time but either way the moment money walks in the sellers should be on their A game. Can't say how well any organized events or releases go here and I most likely will never find out. As a native of the city, who remembers shopping in that very same building when it was a KBs Toy Store, I'm sadden I'll have to continue to drive up to Hall Rd and Berkeley for decent TCG experiences. read more

Dan helped me out big time today- I came in needing upwards of 50 cards for an EDH deck as quickly as possible, and he took the time to gather them all for me without complaining or anything. I spent over an hour here in total, and I was very impressed by how easy it was for me to get what I needed. I've played EDH here in the past on Sunday nights. The crowd is friendly and mostly supportive of new and shy players. The store area is wonderful, and the selection of MtG cards in the cases and the binders is some of the best I've seen in Michigan, with pricing that can't be beat. I went in there a couple of weeks ago to purchase some miniatures. I was greeted but I wasn't asked if I need anything. The two employees at customer service were busy having a conversation so I had to approach them with any questions. I was in there for twenty minutes and was never approached for any questions or help. They have a good variety of minis, but they are lacking when it comes to dice. I'll be back for the minis even though their customer service is lacking. read more

I've been here 3 times and the first two times we're good experiences. First time I was there (a month ago) to play board games in the designated area and it was great. I bought a $100 game to support the store. There selection is very good and they have some hard to find games. Went back yesterday and spent $135 on three game expansions to Star Trek Ascendancy. I could have easily bought these games online and saved $30. The reason I like to buy games in the store is to support these small businesses and for the "superior customer service". When I took them home, one of the expansions had the wrong pieces in it. I returned to the store today and was surprised to be told that they would not do an exchange for me. I had the receipt and everything. I was told I needed to contact the manufacturer and there was nothing that could be done in store. When I pressed about it, I was told that the store would lose money if they did the return. I told the owner/manager that one of the reasons I bought games in the store is I assumed that there would be a return policy and I wouldn't have to do everything online. I understand that he was telling me that for some reason the manufacturer wouldn't allow the store to call and get replacement pieces (although I find this hard to believe), but if that is the case then he as the manager/Owner should have done the return/exchange anyways and ate the $10-15 cost to the store. To me keeping the customer happy and returning should be a priority especially when it is so easy for customers to buy the product cheaper online now days. Honestly i probably would have bought the ship and dice upgrades today for another $70 if I was treated right. But if I have to go through the trouble of doing the exchange online, I may as well just buy the product online in the first place. I decided not to give one star because I'm hoping I just ran into someone who made a mistake and this is not the actual store policy. I am an avid gamer and support local gameshops tremendously. I want to give them another chance at some point but will have to think twice about dropping a large sum on a game when I could easily get it cheaper online with the same level of service. read more

Top notch! I was there for the Wizkids Open, in February. It was one of the best managed events I've ever been to. The store owners and staff are enthusiastic about the products, and really know how to present the wide variety games available to the customer. As a Regular to this card shop (I'm up here anywhere between 2-4 days a week) the employees are friendly and are all good people who try hard to provide great customer service they add a lot to the experience and just have a friendly vibe around them. The owners are fantastic and can handle almost any questions you might have about any of the products in the store. The store is kept clean and in good repair. They also have some of the friendliest players for most games around from MTG to Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, and Board games there is almost always something going on here. Prices are fantastic, the shop is quite large and often they host multiple events are once with more than enough room for open gaming. They even have demo games you can play if you want to try something new. Their credit system is fantastic as well. Great store. The staff has always been helpful and friendly to me. Occasionally when there is a big magic tournament going on the staff will have to take care of a lot of customers at once. But I've found it to be a great store with everything from board games to comic books to card games to gaming miniatures. I come to the store for X-wing Miniatures and to play the game with others. this was hands down my favorite card shop until quite recently. my close friends and I frequently went out of our way to drive 30+ minutes to come here over any other shop. recently, a newer employee was very misinformed regarding the value of certain cards we had brought to trade in--cards of significant value, for that matter-- and refused to buy a couple in particular that were on the reserved list, yet she claimed they were being reprinted in "vintage masters". this wasn't a huge problem, and my boyfriend who owned the cards decided to post online and sell the cards himself, no complaints about misinformation - it happens and was just mildly inconvenient until she took the liberty of engaging in a disagreement on his Facebook page. at that point he sent a private message to the business bringing this to their attention. there was no response. a few weeks later, I came in alone, and was the only person in the store besides the employees. I was planning on trading in a few cards and getting some new ones for my decks. instead, the employees did not acknowledge me at all, and watched tv. I greeted them politely and let them know I had some cards I was interested in trading in, and the man with the goatee, arm tattoos, and baseball cap flat out refused me service, and I can't help but think it was because of my boyfriends completely legitimate complaint. long story short, the employees at this business have ruined it for me. I will no longer be coming there, and many of my close friends who would come with me and have put a lot of money into the business will no longer be coming either. they handled this situation so unprofessionally and treated me rudely and unfairly, especially since I had no part in the disagreement and was obviously still going to support the business. I'm very disappointed in the way they handled this, and I would suggest going elsewhere if you want good service. read more
