My husband and I recently purchased a new outdoor dining set from West Elm and since we purchased…read moreit online and this is the only West Elm location in Michigan they get the credit. When I ordered it it was a bit delayed in terms of delivery (as most things are these days) and during that time the price went down by a good percentage. I called their customer service to see if I could get a price adjustment and they were kind enough to assist and get me the discount. Score! Also, I assumed the items would be shipped but they were actually delivered by the West Elm/Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma delivery team, and they brought the items and set them up for us. I thought I was going to spend my evening putting furniture together and breaking down boxes but all I had to do was arrange the pieces where they needed to go. Double score! The set is sturdy and great quality. The table is very heavy, as are the chairs and the bench. Our previous table was light weight and as such was beginning to fall apart after a few years. This piece, I think, is going to last us a very long time. And it's made from sustainable wood to boot. Triple score (for the environment!). I can't wait to have our first meal on the deck on this new beautiful set!

Far and away the worst customer experience I've ever had…read more I ordered my daughter a loft bed for her 10th birthday, and I paid for white glove delivery bringing the total to over $3,000. First the delivery crew was an hour late beyond the scheduled window. West Elm also didn't ship the hardware required for the delivery crew to assemble the bed. I was told that I'd get a call in 48-72 hours, so I waited. Of course, no one from West Elm ever contacted me, so I reached out for an update. I was told that I would have a response in 10-12 business days. Meanwhile, my daughter still doesn't have a bed (or her birthday present), and West Elm has left a pile of parts dangerously scattered across her room. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and I was kept on hold for over an hour before I was told there was nothing a supervisor could do to assist me. Then, they asked me (and I quote), "why don't I just go to a hardware store and buy what I need to put the bed together?" I would love nothing more than to never deal with this company again, and if they gave me assembly instructions then maybe I would go buy anything I could to put it together myself. I asked them to email me the hardware inventory list and they said they didn't have it. I realize that mistakes happen, and I was just looking for someone to help fix it. Instead, I was met with ineptitude, apathy, and rudeness. Do yourself a favor and buy from anywhere else.

1 star. I want to…read morepreface this by saying we did sign a contract, and I understand what that means. This review is not about disputing that. It is about the lack of transparency, professionalism, and basic customer care that defined our entire experience. We came in with a straightforward situation: a student preparing for a single exam who needed a workspace for a short, defined period. That was made clear from the start. A reputable business would have used that information to recommend the right plan, ensure the terms were fully understood, and establish a clear end date. None of that happened. We were signed to an open ended contract with no mention that it would continue billing until actively cancelled. It is also worth understanding what the membership actually gets you. The $400+ monthly fee covers access to a shared open floor, essentially a glorified waiting room. A private room is available but billed separately at $200 per hour. For anyone coming in with a specific, time sensitive need, that pricing structure deserves serious consideration before signing anything. When the exam concluded, we assumed the matter was closed. A simple courtesy reminder before the next billing cycle, something any client focused business would provide, would have prevented this entirely. Instead a charge came through without any warning for a month of service we had no intention of using. I called to address it. Marcus took the call, acknowledged the concern, and committed to following up. Over a week passed with no response. I had to call back myself. When I finally reached him again, he was dismissive, referred to our student as my "supposed" student, stated he did not have time to address the issue, and told me there was nothing he could do. His exact words were that he could not refund me even if he wanted to because he still had to close the account. This was nearly three weeks after I had originally asked him to do so. To be clear, he had not closed the account, had not followed up, and was now using the uncompleted task as the reason a refund was off the table. Had I not called back myself, there is a reasonable chance another month would have been charged before anyone did anything. The logic being applied here is that cancelling an account on the same day as a charge justifies keeping the full monthly payment. For a task that, by all appearances, still had not been completed weeks later. A business that respects its clients follows through on its word, communicates proactively, extends good faith when the situation calls for it, and works toward fair resolutions even when the contract technically favors them. This business did none of that. If you are considering this space, read the fine print, get an explicit end date in writing, and weigh the value honestly before committing. We learned that lesson the hard way.
