(We have been looking for 6 months and frankly it was a drive buy.) We love Ethan Allen and had a lot their furniture though the years. We wanted something upscale but not too traditional. We selected a chair that is extremely comfortable and looks upscale and perfect for our "new"environment. I was in the furniture business for many years and I must admit from start to finish my purchase from Ethan Allen went extremely smooth. My sales person I believe was the manager in Rancho mirage .. She quoted five weeks for the bedroom set and it came even sooner. The delivery went very well, on time , with polite drivers. I have so enjoyed and appreciated working with Benjamin. He actually listens to what you want and helps you to design a room to meet your style and needs. He doesn't impose his design preferences or the latest trends but he does give options to check your interest/preferences. He also makes sure you are meeting your goals (e.g. comfort or a specific style or both). He also really knows the EA line and all the ways you can customize it. I bought one of their Signature mattresses The edge of the mattress collapsed a couple inches and created a bulge on the side. Not only did they not replace the mattress, but their representative was very insulting claiming that I didn't rotate the mattress often enough and it was caused by sitting on the side of the mattress. read more

The staff are friendly and will sell you on their furniture. As far as the manufacturing of the furniture, dates of delivery etc., they are not reliable. Our leather chair was damaged and they had to order leather which has taken two months. I feel we were given the run around by our sales agent at Ethan Allen in Palm Desert. They aren't able to give us a reliable date to get the chair. I have also been waiting for an end table since November 2021! I would not recommend them to anyone at this point. This was the worst purchase l ever made my sofa is falling apart under a year.The customer service was not what I would expect from them.I am willing to give them the extra money to purchase a new one. I also reached out to the corp office And they don't care. This is not the first time a purchased from them I have been buying from them for years but they don't care if they loose a very good customer the quality has really changed. Ethan Allen has been my go to store for over 20 years, the sales staff in the Palm Desert store are easy to work with and very enjoyable however the manufacturing part of the business is unreliable. I'm waiting over 16 weeks for an upholstered bed. It's been delayed 3 times. Delays with EA are typical as 1/3 of all my orders over the last 20 years have been delayed. We purchased leather chairs from Ethan Allen that we're gradually loosing the dye color. After the store manager heard about it she said called to let me know they would be replacing my chairs. After reviewing my case she found out the dye lot was faulty. I am very pleased with their prompt response and Debbie could not have been kinder. read more

I bought a sofa less than a year ago and the cushions are falling apart they do not stay in place and we fall between the gaps I was told to turn them and it can not be done there is a loop on the bottom that can be seen when you flip them. I never would buy a sofa that you could not turn the cushions. I have been asking for help and not getting calls back I am not happy with the service and a company as big as Ethan Allan is you would think they would stand behind it. I told them I would buy another sofa from them and return this one . I own many other pieces from them and have been a very good customer for years I love everything else can not understand why they will not want to make me happy this was a 5000 dollar sofa and I would hope it would last longer! I have had great success in other parts of the US with Ethan Allen. Stopped by this store just for inspiration for my New England home that is being built. Spoke to designer Moz Mosley who was helping a woman decorate her Houston home. Before I knew it, I sent Moz the house plans and pics of it in being built stages, a Pinterest inspiration board, and within a week I was back in and Moz had selected the most beautiful design using some of my existing furniture as well as some new pieces and fabrics for reupholstering. AND he helped select paint color-the most difficult of all! There was no pressure to buy and there was a sale Going on, so all good. Everything will be shipped to my home back east. This was so easy to do and much less expensive than hiring a designer back home. Now everything will arrive when my home is completed and be ready all at once. My husband and I purchased 5 pieces of furniture from Eathan Allen in Palm Desert in 2017, took delivery in 2018. Two of those purchases were leather Paloma recliners, delivered April 4, 2018. Both chairs now have very noticeable loss of dye in the leather, unfortunately directly in front where it is readily visible. At the time of purchase the sales person strongly recommended we purchase the Guardsman 5yr warranty, inferring it "covers everything, is all encompassing". We did. When I contacted Guardsman today regarding our recliners I was told the warranty does NOT cover the loss of dye in the leather. We are stuck with recliners we paid $1800 each for and they are damaged through no fault of ours within 2 years of purchase. We are 2 older adults with no pets or children so only normal use of the chairs. I would caution any potential buyers of leather items from EA to VERY carefully read the warranty fine print BEFORE purchasing leather furniture or any warranty. Our daughter has a Home Goods leather recliner chair that cost $400 10 years ago and it is in perfect condition in spite of 3 teen boys in the house! Lesson learned. Buyer beware. Yes, Ethan Allen has very nice, high quality pieces. However, You better be prepared to wait for it! I purchased a dining room table on 7/24/12 and it will not be delivered until 10/212. It's just a table! Not a custom designed, upholstered piece. They only come to Palm Desert area for delivery on Tuesdays and every other Saturday, which i guess explains the advertising of "Free" delivery - it's almost nonexistent. Next time, I'll go to Mathis Bros. or Macy's for a nice piece that can be delivered in a couple of days. read more
