Lots of options at different price points. He accommodated our request to try different dining chairs side by side (he carried the chair across the store). He confirmed in stock availability and gave us space and privacy to make our decision. We ordered six dining chairs because of his customer service. On March 17, 2026 I stopped by this store to check out Stressless Furniture. I was helped by Kirk Sandland. He was so informative. Spent much time explaining the product and patiently answering my many questions. There was no pressure. He gave me lots of points to consider. I sat on most examples and loved the recliner module. I was shocked at the price so Kirk showed me other products. I still preferred the Stressless designs and quality. Now I'm going to do my living room floor plan and experiment with module pieces to see what I can come up with. I'm sure at that point I'll have even more questions. I was looking into getting some new chairs and was told to try this store. I was amazed they had such a variety to choose from..they also had a large selection of sofas and tables. I tried out many chairs before finding just the right chair to fit me like a glove. The Stress Less Wing Recliner and Ottoman with the Signature base. The chair swivels very easily. It has a very firm back to it and is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. The salesman was very helpful and no pressure. I have been to a number of furniture store over the last week looking for a bed. This is by far one of the largest of there chain. We found several beds to choose from. Are issue was I needed a frame that the head board was in the 40 inch range. Furniture here had clean lines and is fairly priced. We were given great service by Scott as well as others in the store. Bro order the bed they suggested we order from our local store so that delivery and set up could be arranged. This company has been around for about 60 years and some of you may remedy it as Plummers. read more

Update: After corporate responded to my original review I called the store and spoke with the manager, Rick. Apparently there were a number of miscommunications. When I explained to him the exact situation he agreed to take my case to corporate which saw my point of view and agreed to extend the sale price. I purchased the sofa and chair yesterday. While I can't give the overall experience 5 stars, I do think an upgrade from the original 1 star is very appropriate. I would shop there again, but will be very careful to have a clear understanding of pricing and terms. ---- ORIGINAL REVIEW ----- On February 19th we went to the store to look for a sofa. We found a sofa and chair that were on sale and which we liked very much. We were in the process of having another chair recovered and asked the sales person if we could wait a few days for the chair to be delivered so we could bring in a cushion to compare fabrics and colors. He told us that wasn't a problem. We went back on February 23rd with the cushion in hand, and we all agreed that the fabric and color would work fine. But then I noticed the sale tag was gone and I asked about it. He told me the sale was over. I asked why he didn't' tell us it was expiring and he said he'd speak to the manager about it and see if we could get the sale price. The manager refused and said after 3 days it was a corporate decision. Had we been told it was expiring we would have gotten the fabric from the upholsterer. But we feel it was wrong of him not to tell us that the sale price was going to disappear in 72 hours, and we think it was wrong of the manager to refuse to honor the sale price. Be careful about shopping at Scandinavian Designs. The price you see may not be the price you'll be expected to pay. read more

We had a great experience shopping at Scandinavian Designs. We were looking to replace a chair in our living room and within 10 minutes of walking into the Palm Desert showroom, found a new chair at an affordable price. The sales person was friendly and very helpful. She completed our order and told it would be 30 to 45 days for the chair to be delivered. We were happily surprised when we receive a call that our chair was able to be delivered in 10 days!! The chair looks wonderful and provided the perfect refresh to our living room! Buyer Beware for Fuchsia Dining Chairs. I purchased six chairs in 2018. By 2022 three of the chair backs became "Un-glued". I returned to Scandinavian Designs where I purchased the chairs and explained the issues. They said to glue them back together. I attempted but it did not work. In 2023 two more chairs became "un-glued". Frustrated I gave up on Scandinavian Designs. Yesterday I was shopping for new dining chairs and came across Scandinavian Designs Rancho Mirage...tempted I went into the same store where I initially purchased the initial chairs mentioned above. I was SHOCKED to see the SAME chairs on display for sale! I asked the Sales Rep Scott if there were any problems with the chairs and wood becoming un-glued (I explained my situation). The Sales Rep would not commit to answering my question. Needles to say,Buyer Beware! "Knowingly" Scandinavian Designs continues to sell "flawed" chairs. read more

The customer service in the store is very good the furniture that I got from the warehouse within two days was very nice furniture my custom couch that's another story it's of poor quality it has no lines it's stuffing on one portion is overstuffed and in other parts understaffed the stitching is very poor it's just not well made at all and it showsif you can't buy it and take it home don't purchase it it took me nine weeks to get the couch and it is such poor quality it's pretty but it's poor quality I would not recommend purchasing a couch from Scandinavian designs. So I can't be happier :) Mary the sales woman called me in March and said they were going to replace my couch after seeing the pictures I sent her. I got my couch on Friday it's beautiful. All I can say is the factory must of been having a bad couch day the day they made my old one. Thank you so much Mary and Scandinavian for keeping you end of the deal and standing by you customer. Purchased Gimmel desk from these people six weeks ago. Very satisfied until saw rust-colored stain at top edge of metal leg assembly. Turns out there is defect in paintwork, showing exposed rusted area and rust color spreading to nearby paintwork. See photo. Notified store. They first said I had stained the piece, then that it was melamine and couldn't rust, and when I verified the assembly is painted metal, they refused to help. Item is obviously defective. Complete cluster!! Ordered some patio furniture on 12/10. Gave the salesperson all our info but they keyed in the wrong phone number. We found the issue of the receipt and tried to call the store, all phone lines were down. Then send email answered assured they would fix it. Before deliver I even called to make sure they made the change. Then I waited for 4 hrs at the house only to find out they STILL had not made the change on the phone number so the delivery company could not contact me and cancelled the order. Zero stars, zero stars, zero stars. I'm trying to run a business here, and time and time again this company continues to offer merchandise that not only it doesn't have, but worse... HAS NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL BECOME AVAILABLE! Just to share with you how, designers work! We select items for our clients homes, they approve them, then we purchase said items. NEVER, EVER once except for with your company, have I shared items with my clients, only to be told they are not available and you have no idea when they would become available. Two things. FIRST.... STOP ADVERTISING MERCHANDISE YOU DON'T HAVE... Incase you don't know THAT'S fraud! And SECOND, since you don't know when it will be available, why CAN'T I have the piece you actually HAVE in the store. Hanging on the wall. You see doing that is WORSE, then you actually keeping it on your website. BECAUSE EVERYONE OF YOU FROM THE DISTRICT MANAGER ON DOWN... Are saying to your customers, we don't care about you! But mostly to us who own design firms, you are telling us and our clients who have done the work to curate a room, getting our clients approval, then having us go back to the client to tell them the art is not available is SHAMEFUL! Just so you know, art is more important than any sofa you sell. Now, I have to scrap the whole design and start all over again, using a company who values truth in products they sell! I know it may be just a chair business to you, but we are creating environments for our clients to share with their friend and family. In closing thanks for creating all of this extra work for myself and assistants, but mostly, thanks for putting me in the position next week when my clients come to town to go over everything, why because of you we have to start all over on the design, simply because you think it's ok to advertise or in this case AGAIN, have an ACTUAL piece of art in your store that you will continually have customers wanting only to be told they can't have it. An otherwise ok store, but...I bought two Stressless chairs in November and they were delivered at the beginning of April. Since this was a custom order I thought this was pretty quick...but one of the chairs was broken. A service man came to fix it and couldn't but said that the part would be here in about three weeks. It's now May. I'm told it's on a boat somewhere and will be here whenever it gets here...June possibly(July?). I talked to the mgr Eduardo who said the problem was with the manufacturer not the store and he was sorry. Not sorry enough for a credit for lack of use of the chair for 4-5 months, but still very sorry. Me too. read more

Went to the store with hope to buy some Danish chairs but was sorely disappointed. While the designs may be from Scandinavia, none of the furniture is. It certainly looks nice but there's not one piece of European made furniture that I could find. It's all cheap Chinese made knockoffs at premium prices. Maybe a notch above Ikea. The piece of furniture we've had for one month has started to rust on the metal uprights. It's easy to replace just the leg piece but when we approached the store they refused to help. Is this really customer service? Who wants to do business with this type of store!! We will just dispute the charge or sue them in court for the piece, but beware!! They are obviously using low quality materials and I would not trust them with your next purchase. read more

We are originally from the Seattle area and purchased most of our furniture from Dania. We were excited when we found the Scandinavian Designs store in Rancho Mirage. No longer excited. It'sreally too bad when the quality of the product gets overrun by HORRIBLE customer service. Three weeks ago I was told that my dining table was here. The salesperson called me and sat up delivery for the end of the week. Then I get a call that their computer was wrong and there wasn't actually a truck on the promised delivery date. So then I had to wait to the following week for a Tuesday delivery. That was a nightmare. I was having weekend dinner guests and had to bring the outdoor table inside. I was furious. Monday afternoon I get a call that only the base of the table was on the truck and not the table top. Really? So Tuesday I leave to play in a golf tournament since my table wasn't being delivered. I'm on the 16th hole and I get a call from the gate that the delivery people are here from RCI Home Delivery. They had to leave and couldn't wait for me to get home. I called Scandinavian Design and they say "the salesman was able to get another table and was supposed to call you and tell you the delivery was back on" Again, really? First of all no call and second, they found a table top? I lost it. I asked for the Store Manager and got a call back from the Sales Manager. He asked me when I could be available for delivery. I said Wednesday or Friday. Never heard back so I called back. He said that it was set up for Friday. Once again, I change my plans to be home Friday. Today (Wednesday) he calls and tells me that it can't be delivered on Friday and he doesn't know when it can be. I've heard all the reasons why their service is so bad "right now". Nothing is more frustrating then when company issues turn into the customer's issues. This situation it happened over and over again. Not once have their offered anything to me except excuses. Today I told them I had better not get charged a delivery charge. Having company next week and it will interesting to see if I have anywhere for them to eat. Until they get their logistics issues straightened out I'd stay clear of Scandinavian Designs. read more

High pressure, super high pressure salesperson there that was so aggressive and forceful I felt scared. I'm moving into a new home and have been looking at Mathis Brothers, Eric's, etc for ideas and possibilities and so I tried to look at what this store had too. Big mistake, I wanted to browse around this store a bit first but the salesperson kept hounding me and asking personal question after question after question and not in a nice way. I felt like an animal at hunting season. I got out of there soon enough eventually, but only after noticing the quality of their furniture on the sales floor was definitely below that of other stores that I've visited in the area this week. As I left this store I began to shake from being so upset by that aggressive staff. I hate to have to leave a negative review but in this case it is justified and it is warranted. Remember, a word to the wise: You get what you pay for. Don't be lured by the deceptive prices here. This store is like walking onto a used car lot. I've had a more pleasant shopping experience at Mathis Brothers, ect. and I really appreciate being treated with respect and not roughed up by desperate salespeople. read more

I was searching for a loveseat sleeper- and I decided to stop in Scandinavian Designs as I was always a fan of Plummer's. Low and behold I found just the right leather loveseat sleeper! It was very well made and had an incredible foam mattress- unlike normal sleepers where you can feel the cross bar- this was more comfortable than my own bed. The furniture at this store is sleek and perfect for the desert lifestyle. Sales personnel are friendly and not pushy. My salesman was Quentin and he was a pleasure to work with! We needed a sofa to replace one our rug-rats DESTROYED. Guests were giving us looks as to why we had not jettisoned our old couch yet. We arrived at the store as soon as they opened on a weekday. The store is clean and free of clutter. There are many choices when it comes to style and pricing. The tikes are only 3 & 5 so some durability is warranted. Jasen heard our concerns and narrowed our selection based on cost and functionality. We made a quick decision and it was off to the races. I even financed it in house interest free for twelve months. What a deal. Delivery was scheduled for Tuesday between 12-3 PM. The furniture arrived at a little after 1:00 and we received a heads up call fifteen minutes ahead of their appearance. They set up our modular system and hauled away the existing behemoth for $40. Overall, the experience was painless. We will return. read more

I had a great experience shopping for furniture at this store. Went to another national chain nearby and was sorta handed off and never approached again before I walked out. As I passed Scandinavian Designs, I thought, why not stop in and see what's what. I had assumed that this type and style of furniture was out of my budget. I was greeted upon entering by Lee Ann who I spoke with at length about my move to new apartment etc., and she was very patient and interested in showing me everything that she thought I was looking for and other beautiful pieces that I was just curious about. I happened to come in during a sale, so the pieces I chose were not seriously over my budget and I purchased designer furniture that I loved and know was different and unique from run of the mill furniture. read more

Went in on the recommendation of a friend for good prices on wall art. Saw a piece we liked for 399.00 as we browsed the clearance center we saw a copy of the same piece marked 189.00z went back to check that it was indeed the same piece but when we returned the salesman who had been working in that area and the sale tag were gone .asked our salesman if they could ship and he said he'd check but came back to tell us that the clearance price was actually. 339.00. That's not even 20 % off.what about the price we saw ? Well it must have been a different item he said . But no it's there now had that price on them . What a waste if gas and time.
