I called them on it and they knew it was wrong but they still hit my credit card. Guy always has interns following him around too which I'm sure he makes money off of somehow. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to making an appointment with this Doctor. He doesn't understand doses of medication from brand name, to generic. I should have got up and left the exam room once the Doctor told him to cut up a 5mg pill into 4 so I could take the proper dosage. I'm busy, everyone is busy. I previously complained about having to wait for an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see the doctor. He told me to schedule earlier in the day so he was not so backed up. Earlier appointments did not help. At my last appointment, I was getting ready to just leave when he finally came in. I mentioned the inexcusable wait time, and he got really defensive, said he waited 2 hours to see his own doctor, and if I didn't like it, I should find someone else but I'd be disappointed because no one was as great as he was. Was referred to this doctor through Kaiser. Wish we never went. The goal was to repair a scar on my son's face. We paid for the minor surgery and follow up treatments and so far the scar looks worse than before (it's been a year). Kaiser referred my wife to Dr. Nguyen since there Dermatology dept was maxed out. While I was there I asked about what I could do about miscellaneous stuff on my 50+year old face. My wife and I saw Dr. Nguyen on the same day at the same time. The appointment was at 3:30 on Friday. Great time as I don't have to take time off work. The receptionist was nice and handed us the appropriate paper work for first timers. We were taken into the exam room on time, we waited about 15 minutes. This is usually the standard at most doctors offices. I'm an older guy so I do visit doctors occasionally. If you think your always going to be seen right at the exact time of the appointment, you need to wake up. The nurse was thorough in her line of questions. Dr came in was pleasant and very nice. He asked the right questions and first saw my wife and then me. We both had our issues resolved and are very happy with the visit. Made an appointment for the date and time I wanted. Dr Nguyen is such an awesome Dermatologist. I've been with him since 2014. He takes his time with his patients and always addresses my concerns. After suffering for years with severe plaque psoriasis. He diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis after going untreated since 2005. He was able to get me on Humira and my autoimmune disorder has been pretty stable since. He also spotted skin cancers on me and was quick to get them removed. My sister was referred through kaiser to see this doctor for medical skin issues The receptionists were great, it was the doctor and his nurse who had a nasty attitude with my sister and my mother. They have no people skills whatsoever and that's one of the main things that's important considering your a damn doctor and nurse who have to deal with patients on a daily basis. Staff is rather rude. But not as rude as Dr. Nguyen. Went in to have biopsied freckles on my back removed. Was told scar would be very difficult to see. Stitches ripped open and bled the night after surgery while I slept. It was difficult to get in for him to re-stitch it. I was butchered and the scar is significant, six months later like a half dollar dark spot on my back. I won't be returning to him to have the remaining spots removed found another dr in Loma Linda whose staff were warm and kind. read more

I was very disappointed with my office visit. Dr. Nguyen didn't get within 3 feet of me to "diagnose" the skin condition on my face (I knew what it was and was hoping to start visiting this office as its close to home). He never got near my face or turned a light on to look at my skin. It was literally less than a minute and he started his "diagnosis", which was contrary to the diagnosis that I had from at least two other doctors and despite sharing this with him. He did provide a prescription for the medication that I requested (based on previous success) after I spent a few minutes arguing with him about his "diagnosis". Bummed--would not refer anyone here. Weird experience. I will be cautious with my words since this is a serious and truthful accusation. I went for a consultation regarding some pigmentation and a scar. The doctor starts looking for some paper to illustrate what he is talking about and decides to write on the paper between my legs (the disposable sheets for patients). I put my hand in my thigh area so that he would not advance, but was too dumbfounded to say anything. There was a male nurse behind us but this was treated as an everyday thing. As I am leaving, I inform the doctor that I may not buy the bleaching cream if it is too expensive. He then asked me if there was a Santa Clause that would buy it for me. Unprofessional and creepy. Update: the bleach that they made me buy was not necessary. After getting an second opinion, it turns out that I had an allergic reaction to something. This incompetent "doctor" or swindler told me that I would have to buy their 100 dollar bleach at least two more times to see results. It took another dermatologist to diagnose this in less than five minutes. read more

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for Dr. Nguyen. I first saw him years ago for a basal cell carcinoma. Since then I've also had two squamous cells and one melanoma that was in the very early stages. One of the squamous cell removals was to the side of my nose and quite obvious. Today, no one notices that I have a scar there. The stitching was put right into the laugh line and has faded with the years. I've chosen a more expensive insurance because it allowed me to keep seeing Dr. Nguyen. I've also referred friends to him. read more

You can't wait for cancer to become a weird lump before checking it! Preventative action matters. I was hesitant to keep my initial appointment after reading the reviews, but I'm glad I went. As many others have mentioned, the staff was extremely pleasant and prompt. I have dry, sensitive skin that has been misdiagnosed by other dermatologists in the past. Dr. Nguyen took his time with me to discuss my medical history and past dermatology visits. He actually cared that I was concerned about starting a treatment that is too harsh for my skin as I have had in the past. He provided me with treatment options and after almost a month of treatment my skin looks amazing. I still have a little bit of redness from my rosacea, but my skin is smooth and free of the tiny red bumps. Sarah the esthetician, is equally wonderful. She was extremely gently and cautious over making me more red before my sister's wedding. Finally talks to me. Mocks me for things I tried on my own before rushing to a doctor. Want me to try something, then sneers when it is not covered by Kaiser. (That generally means it is no more useful than less expensive products). Gives me samples, tells me to see him in a month. Tries to walk out, but I was referred for two issues. Again mocking me for things I tried. Sends a prescription to Kaiser. I had no intention of returning there. The office called me for a follow up. "But we have authorization." Not happening. Despite the bad reviews on here, Dr. Nguyen gets the job done. I starts going here after a family friend recommended me and my sister go here. I grew up with horrible acne/acne scars and after a few months of treatment I started to see results. My mom really couldn't believe it and neither could the rest of my friends and family. Nothing was working up to that point when I took on his treatment. I actually would recommend this place because not only is the staff members so nice, the doctor actually knows what he's doing. Unlike a previous doctor from RMC (if I could remember correctly) she REALLY didn't even bother to take her time to evaluate my skin nor listen to what I had to say. She literally saw me and my sister with probably a few appointments in between, and SHE PRESCRIBED THE SAME EXACT THING TO ME AND MY SISTER. The Doctor: Dr. Ethan Nguyen is really close minded and could be rude and arrogant. After going there for treatment I was showing mild success. Due to that, I asked him about other treatments suggested by other dermatologist I've seen in the past. He then proceeded to cut me off and rudely tell me how he was the dermatologist and he was the specialist. He didn't even let me finish so I could tell him those methods I was telling him about were suggestions by other specialist and dermatologist I had seen in the past. He was persistent with me continuing a treatment that wasn't showing much result; A Very expensive one at that. The Staff: People who work here are great and friendly, especially the lady at the front desk. Whoever talks to the insurance companies for billing though, definitely didn't do their due diligence when it came to billing, communicating with me, and the insurance. During the time of my treatment, I would go in two times a week being charged a rate I was told would be my cost based on the coverage from my insurance. I did this for a few months, and never once did they tell me to stop coming in because my insurance wasn't going to cover. They just kept charging me my copay each visit. After I stopped going because it became really expensive, I received a bill. This bill was for 2-3 thousand dollars for charges that the insurance didn't cover. When I called them about it, I was told I had nothing to stress about because I wouldn't have to pay any of it as long as I tried helping them collect their money. In addition, they acknowledged it was their fault for continuing to give me a treatment that otherwise I could not afford. I did my part and talked to the insurance company numerous times to help them collect their money, thinking it was the right thing to do despite this being their mistake. Despite of what they told, they ended up sending me another bill of $80, saying that it was for a visit in which I had only paid $20. I paid $20 because that was my insured rate for a regular visit that this dermatology clinic charged me. If they would have told me that visit was going to be $100, or in fact, if they would have told me the insurance was not going to cover me, I would have walked out that door and refused the service. They instead ASSUMED the insurance would pay and continued giving me treatment. This has honestly been the worst experience I've ever had with a dermatology clinic, and a very stressful one. As a college student I already have to deal with a lot of stress and expenses, and this was definitely not needed. I'm going to pay the bill they sent me, only because I don't want this to come up later on in life. I'm definitely never coming here again, and wont advice my friends or family members to go to this place due to the doctors arrogance, rudeness, and the way my billing was handled. read more

Dr. Nguyen was extremely rude and unprofessional. After going over my current medications he walks into the room and asks "jokingly" if he can have some of my "speed" aka my ADHD medication. He then proceeded to tell me that I'm not allergic to Ceclor (because I took it once when I was 2 and developed bruising and was taken to ER for it) but no, he knows everything and told me it was just a side effect since I didn't get anaphylactic shock. He then told me he wasn't going to put it as an allergy even tho every doctor I've had in the last 27 years has had it as an allergy on my chart! He also rushed thru the appointment and had zero interest in trying to connect with what I had to say. To top it all off he was extremely overbooked I had to wait 2 months for a consultation and once I got there, there were about 10 people waiting to see him and I was there for over an hour and 1/2 for about 10 minutes with him in the room! read more

After waiting two months to have myself and my son seen it was the worst experience EVER! I explained that I was being seen for melasma and treatment options. I was put into the same room as my son where they took his info. and then asked me about my breast aug. in front of him!!! Very unprofessional!! Then Dr. Nguyen came in and consulted on my sons acne. He said I'd like to use brand name medication but "your HMO insurance". I corrected him and said I have a PPO. He laughed and said no it's "blue shield" like it was crap! I had called my ins. to verify my copayment and it should have been $70 but when I got there it was $105. They said I was out of network. I paid because I really wanted my son seen and I had already waited two months. However after his consult Dr Nguyen looked at my face and told me everything that I had just told the girl and sent me to his esthetician for treatments I've already tried?? I explained my frustration to the esthetician who apologized and said oh they should have sent you over here and not charged you $105 for the consult! I agreed and asked to talk to the office manager who was on the phone with my "crap" insurance. She kept covering the phone and telling me that my insurance wasn't covering anything brand name. I said that's fine let's get the genetic. She said oh but then I have to hang up and do this all over again and it's going to take a long time! She left the room and I got a phone call from family with some devastating news. The office manager then brought in another esthetician to go over why I was being charged and my sons treatment. Sara was helpful. She agreed that I should have been sent to the esthetician if I knew I had melasma and was looking for treatment which is exactly what I had said. Again I asked the office manager if there was anything she was willing to do. She said she would take $30 off to make it an in network visit. At this point I had been there for three hours, humiliated in front of my son, my insurance put down, and with the news I had just received I wanted to leave. I'm calling my insurance and the BBB today to see what recourse I have on my $70 payment and I'm going to also verify the medication prices because nothing seemed legit in there! I came here to get some moles checked. Have had biopsy done in past. But had some odd changes in 2 new moles. Kaiser refereed me here. Quite a drive. The front desk woman all nice. Was called in by male nurse. As sitting there I was thinking this is strange a male nurse with male dr. Nurse asked me if I wanted full body scan. I laughed and said no way. Not comfortable being naked with two men in the room and my toddler. Doctor seemed he knew what he was talking about. He informed me of changes I needed to watch for. He looked at moles through a little microscope thing against skin. Leaving I felt my moles were fine and if I had any concern he told me I can call him directly and get another apt in the future if any changes. Wouldn't have to go through my primary first. I just didn't think it was very comfortable having two males. I thought Drs usually have a female in the room if dr is male....that was the first thing I thought of as walking into the room with my little girl. So I'm sure if that was my first thoughts other females felt the same. I felt comfortable leaving not needing a biopsy I trusted his opinion. But would just think they'd have female nurses. Woulda been fine if I was a male. But 1 female and 3 yr old girl in a room with two males just didn't feel right. read more
