I had a tummy tuck through Dr. Childers in 2015. He was extremely helpful. I went in thinking I only needed Lipo and was scared when I realized I needed something more invasive than my initial thought. After deciding to go through with the tummy tuck, I was excited and nervous all at the same time. When my surgery date came, the hospital staff was extremely helpful. Dr. Childers was great support when I needed him. His office staff was delightful. Now, 2 years later, I have a 5 month old. My body healed nicely post surgery and since my pregnancy, my body bounced back (no stretch marks, no belly). However, once I'm ready for a lipo touch up and possibly a breast augmentation later this year, I will be returning to Dr. Childers. PS - I've received compliments on my scarring, too, from doctors in Beverly Hills. Just so you know, you don't need to go to LA or anywhere outside of Riverside to get nice results. ;) read more

Sadly, I wish Dr. Childers and his staff were kinder, more empathetic, and caring. No worries and no apologies for mistakes or mishaps. Truly, another disappointment when dealing with the folks in the medical field. And after reviewing other reviews as far back as 2021...I see it's been a problem for others previously as well (regarding stitches that weren't removed properly by staff). Ironically, this place was highly recommended, which made this experience even more disappointing. The doctor lacked bedside manners. He claims that he spent a lot of time with the patient, but that's not true and he can go back and check his time stamps, dates on appointments, or CCTV if he has one. On our first consultation appointment, he was kind of offstandish and rude to me as I was trying to inquire about things to expect post op. After he cut me off because he was assuming what I was going to ask, I responded and said that I wasn't going to ask what he assumed I was going to ask. At the next appointment, it was the procedure day, and that took a little more time since it was the day of the procedure. At the final appointment, the post op appointment, we were in the waiting room for about an hour after our scheduled time, which is ok. The stitch removal took about 2-5 mins, and another 2-5 minutes before the doctor came in. He didn't double-check the stitches, but rather just informed us that the skin sent to the lab was not cancerous and reminded us of aftercare, and we left. So, nowhere did he spend a lot of time with us, so that's a lie. Although he spoke with his team, still no accountability or apologies. I don't care to speak with this doctor or the office any further, and none of the reviews will be removed. What's crazier is he keeps responding. Only now that these comments and experiences are made public. But this was not how he was on the phone brushing me off and being dismissive. Would he still be this way if it wasn't public? Seems like he's talking more to the public in third person. I reached out via internet inquiry box from his website. Then contacted the office a few days later. He was not kind on the phone. No one told him to call me while he was mid-surgery. After being dismissive, I decided to leave a review. He actually ONLY reached out after the damage was already done customer service wise. I had Perma bags under my eyes and my eyelids turned to hoods that were trying to eat my eyes so I knew it was time to look into surgery blepharoplasty it's called upper and lower. After searching out many doctors I found Dr Ben Childers in Riverside on Brockton. Something between us clicked and I just I felt he was the one because he listened with respect and professionalism and treated me like I was his only patient his only concern no interruptions and I respected that. We said a date, the price was right and fair especially compared to others but I didn't choose him for that reason, and I was excited yet nervous and anxious and every other emotion I can't even explain. The day came and followed all the pre-instructions to the t. He came in everybody got me prepped at the premier Surgery Center and treated me like I was royalty and I cannot lie I loved it. He did a fabulous job and although I'm only 2 weeks and 2 days post-op I still have some discoloration and a little bit of swelling but everything is coming along really well and I highly recommend Dr Ben Childers. I was born with a deviated septum and because of this, it is near impossible for me to breathe out of my nose. Well, as of today, that is no longer the case! I have been to three different ENT Doctors, all of whom did not want to operate to help me breathe saying my nose was "really messed up". After an initial nose surgery 3 years ago with a doubting surgeon that surgery could work, nothing changed. I was hesitant to get my breast reduction with Dr.Childers since there were a few bad reviews , but i figured , you just cant make everyone happy. The doctor does his best the rest is left up to how our body responds /heals and the initiation of the individual taking responsibility for good post op care....etc. I've had terrible back pain due to my natural cleavage size G, as i gain weight it goes to my breast thighs and my buttock area. After my 5th pregnancy the back-pain got worst. After many months of thinking if i should or shouldnt i decided to take the next step towards breast reduction. I was referred to Dr.Childers by my Primary doctor which was also a plastic surgeon listed and approved by my insurance. Since my initial visit it was very professional environment , also the staff were very curtious and inviting. They also offer free refreshments in their waiting area, recalling that when i had my first appointment i had a busy day and was dying of thirst. Dr Childers is very kind professional and listens well to your request of what is desired. Up until the operation day i felt comfortable with him he came and marked me up asked if i had any questions he was very thorough regarding where incisions would be made where and about what size my nipple would be and i approved of his sketch before i know it i was out and ready to go home. The pain was manageable i was given great post op information sheets antibiotics and pain meds that i absolutely loved because they were very effective with minimal side effects. Ive had work done before and i am very particular about incisions and attaching skin back together i can definitely say my new breasts are a work of art my nipples are symmetrical everything is even my breasts are perky , the incisions are precise straight and clean , hes got a very good hand i am extremely happy with the results and i havent even healed completely but i can see that his work is great. I am coming back for my tummy tuck revision scar for sure its nice not to have to travel far to get a good quality doctor with clean straight incisions. I will recommend Dr Childers to anyone looking for good clean work. Ill be happy to share with any other women who may have any doubts or questions . Although my pre-op and surgery seemed to go very well, the after care was horrible. Not only did the office cancel my follow-up appointments at the last minute, TWICE after I had taken off work time and made plans to go, but when I expressed my concern over some issues with my eye care and also about the terrible scheduling, they said the office manager would contact me; a week later, I still have not heard from them at all. My biggest concern was that a few weeks after my stitches came out I discovered that there was something wrong on one of my eyelids that was creating a rough, ugly bump. I told the office staff about it and they didn't seem concerned. They told me the doctor would look at it at my next appointment. Little did I know they would continue to push back my appointments for up to 2 to 3 weeks each time they cancelled. Eventually, while I was rubbing the eyelid bump one day, I discovered that he had left a stitch in by mistake. I had to pull it out myself because it was sticking out and it was over an inch long. Once the stitch came out, the bump seemed to go away and I'm sure I will be fine, but it seems very negligent that he left it in there at all, and definitely not professional to continue canceling my appointments while being unable to accommodate me for a new, convenient time. Overall, I would not recommend going to this doctor. It seems pretty clear that if someone were to run into a major complication after surgery, the office would not be able to find a time to see you and/or make sure that you were OK. This doctor seems great when you first see him for your consultation. He seems very knowledgeable and shows you great pictures of what you think were his past patients. After my breast implant removal plus smaller replacement implants and lift surgery I was in absolute shock at the scars! One other review wrote that hers looked like Frankenstein and I can honestly say that is the best comparison! Mine are way bigger than he ever told me they would be and they even go up into the middle of my breast where my cleavage is! I don't even know how another plastic surgeon could fix that. I'm honestly surprised to see Dr. Childers with so many bad reviews. I went to many different consultations with surgeons, and none of them listened to what I wanted other than Dr. Childers. They also wanted to do more costly additions like a Septoplasty and Turbinectomy. Dr. Childers was the only one who said I didn't need that, and actually said all I needed was a turbinate reduction for my breathing issues. When he said that I knew I could trust him as a doctor, and I'm so glad I did. As for the aesthetics of my nose, it's perfect. He truly listened to what I wanted, and gave me just that. Unfortunately very disappointed in my procedure, aftercare and results of my neck lift. Went in for upper and lower eye lid surgery along with neck lift. Came out with a mini face lift which was fine but next day when the drain was removed from my neck, I immediately started bleeding internally. I looked like a bullfrog and had to be taken to emergency and the surgery performed again on my neck where they found not one but at least two vessels bleeding. I had to go back at least five times to have the excess blood pooling in my neck manually drained. The result of the second surgery left me with what is called a cobra neck. I was continually told give it time. IPL was performed to lighten the discolored place on my neck. When I went in for the after photo I was told I'd receive copies of the before and after but did not. I can't express strongly enough my dissatisfaction with the results, the lack of pride in skill level to try to fix the issue caused and disregard for the patient. The fact that I had to pay for part of the second surgery only added insult to injury plus I'm going to have to pay someone else to fix the problem. I would never recommend Dr Childer's read more

I really want to make sure people looking for real people with real experiences get as much out of Yelp as I do. Dr. Childers is beyond fantastic. He completed my original breast augmentation in 2009 and put in 400cc silicone Mentor Mod-Plus profile implants and I loved them. In March, I found out I had a rupture and capsule constriction (I started noticing my right side changing 12 months before) which developed due to the rupture and leaking implant. I immediately went back to Childers. He was able to remove all of the capsule constriction that had developed around the implant and created a beautiful set of twins for me. I am very happy with my results. I switched to 400cc silicone High Profile Mentor implants. The staff is also great and the ladies go above and beyond with help on finances and insurance claims. Again, noticed changes in my breast and tightening for a year before I had the ultrasound. I couldn't recommend Dr.Childers enough. I had a breast lift and implants in 2017 everything went great and I was super happy with the results. I had a reaction the the sutures after surgery and Dr.Childers was super helpful. I just has a "tummy tuck" with no muscle tightening as my abdominal muscles were back together. I had some lower abdominal loose skin after two kids so it wasn't your average tummy tuck, I didn't have enough skin to pull down and move the belly button so he was able to do it without moving it and I LOVE the results. I had my breast implants removed by Dr Childers, and I have to say, him and his staff made it a great experience. I had my saline implants in for 20 years and one had ruptured. Dr Childers office was able to get it covered by my insurance, which was AMAZING! I have had a lot of mysterious health issues and was not sure if my implants were the culprit and I didn't want to chance it, so I did not replace. I went in for a consultation that my insurance referred to and while Mr.Childers was explaining to me a procedure concerning his other trans patient (mtf) who he referred to as "he" and It was breath taking to realize he proceeded to call her a "he" after I asked what the gender of his patient was and he said male to female. If you are familiar with the LGBT+ community you know how important pronouns are and in the work place at that, so for this unfortunate case in which Mr.Childers happens to provide these services for trans individuals and cant understand the importance of pronouns for his patients and purposely decides to misgender them, he obviously doesn't care about nothing but the money and to top it off he didn't even apologize or correct himself after I explained trans women go by she. Take your chance if you are transgender!! I waited for the longest for my breast augmentation and when I finally had the consultation I was so happy but didn't follow through cause Mr.Childers ignorance to my community and I had to wait even longer so think on that!! I had late stage breast cancer in 2013. Afterwards, I did not have enough tissue left to even insert implants so Dr. Childers recommended a tram flap with eventual implants. The tram flap surgery was horrendous, but Dr. Childers made it as comfortable as possible. I waited several years to make a decision as to whether I wanted implants. I decided to do it. I am extremely pleased overall with the results. I opted for silicone round. I will say Dr. Childers seems to take special interest in breast cancer reconstruction, which made me feel truly at ease, like I was not just another patient. He explained ALL risks - I do not understand how anyone can blame him for how they scar? I have significant scarring, but I cannot blame the Dr. - that is MY body and just how it healed. He is thorough, professional, and to the point, which I truly appreciate. I truly appreciated his honesty. He did not promise me the moon, he promised he would do the very best he could to make me look as normal as possible. That is exactly what I got. I had concerns but he had been doing this for years so he's probably tired of hearing the same concerns lol he's like let me do my job so if time is of essence to you I recommend His staff was very friendly office is very clean. I didn't have to wait too long most the time was quick. I really appreciated the after care and the pain pumps after surgery Lord Jesus is good thank you Dr.Childers for that!! I made an appointment two months in advance. They are so unorganized and not in communication with one another. They called to confirm one day, called to reschedule another day, called to confirm the day before, then the clueless receptionist suggested me still show up but can I come first thing in the morning. I told them to go f*** themselves. The doctor honestly is so likable and seems like he would do a decent job. I've had better consultations and have seen better before and after photos but this doctor is dirt cheap with prices and I do love a deal. I picked another surgeon after my first consultation in June and I was going to give them another try but once again they come up short. If going to Los Angeles isn't an option for you and if you want a discount surgery and horrible schedule/service from everyone but the doctor come here. I had top surgery done by Dr. Childers approx one year ago. His staff was always very polite but I always felt like the doctor was always in a rush and if I saw him for 10 min that was good. I waited a year so I could have plenty of time for the healing process. I'm not satisfied with the results at all and unfortunately I don't think there is a way to correct what was done. If you are transgender and seeking top surgery I would not recommend this doctor. After one year I still don't feel comfortable going shirtless. My nipple area are two different shapes, they sit too high and they look like burn marks. One side is bigger than the other and the bottom of one side sits lower. Not happy at all. read more

I'm glad everyone else had such a great experience with this Doctor because I sure didn't...except for the time I first came in and he "sold" me a mini face lift. At that time he was so nice and charming, reassuring, etc. 2 days before my surgery for the "pre-op" Dr. Childers didn't so much as take my blood pressure! He just told me to get an EKG and blood work before the surgery. It so happened I had a sore throat that day and my son had got Strep throat so I was concerned I might get it too. I asked him to look at my throat and he said my tonsils looked red. That's funny because I don't have tonsils! And that night I came down with Strep. We rescheduled surgery for several weeks later and in the interim, my primary care doctor at Loma Linda made sure I had the right care and scheduled me for a thorough pre-op: chest xray, labs, ekg, and complete check up. I gave the results to Dr. Childer's office. The day before surgery I was supposed to get a call from the Anesthesiologist which I never did. The morning of the surgery the Anesthesiologist came in and yelled at me because I'm a smoker! Then he barked at the nurse demanding I get a breathing treatment. Dr. Childers came in and barked at my daughter when she asked if he would give me something for nausea for after the surgery. He was in a bad mood. He was short, didn't even greet me just said see ya in there. After surgery and I went to his office to post of visit he just haphazardly took the bandages off barely looked at my face and said to schedule an appointment for next check. FF to 6 months after surgery: I saw absolutely no difference in the results. Sure at first I did, say the first 2 months then It went right back to the way it was. When I voiced my disappointment in the results, he got so defensive and started ranting about this being similar to the procedure called Lifestyle Lift so what did I expect? Funny, at the consultation I asked him if the mini lift was like a Lifestyle Lift and said Oh No, this is the real thing. Then he stormed out of the room like a spoiled little child who can't get their way. He finally offered to do a revision after a year (of course I'd have to put out another some $2,000 )but why would I want him to do it again when I don't trust him now He is two faced. Nice one minute and a tyrant the next. The reason I first came to him was for a filler like Juvaderm. He said why waste your money when in about a few months you'll be right back where you were? Then he told me about the Mini face lift and how great that procedure would be and that is not temporary like fillers are. Amazing that my procedure turned out to be just that: temporary. I would not recommend Dr. Childers. He's not stable. Someone who's personality can change from/to such extremes is not to be trusted, in my opinion. And his work isn't so great either. Also I didn't like the Anesthesiologist either as he didn't even look my chart until the moment we met so Dr. Childers' choice of associates is also in question. I feel like I threw away $4,000+...
