The nurse Sandra is very unprofessional and unethical and appears to be burnt out when it comes to having compassion for patients . I missed one appointment , never received a follow up call , Kaiser told me they could not fill meds . Went In person and was told I could not be seen until 2 months and could not get my meds until I was seen . They don't provide samples . Will be filing a compliant with kaiser, patient rights and will complain to the state licensing board since she is the face of the dr. Go at your own risk . I recommend they get rid of Sandra . I had a bunch of simultaneous skin maladies while pregnant - at one point I had PUPP, psoriasis and poison oak. He prescribed me a cream that made them all go Away! Pupp is super itchy so I'm so happy he was able to diagnose and help me with it. I also appreciate that he gives out a cell phone and lets patients text him. That's a very concierge service that I've never seen anyone else do in riverside. He responded to my texts ASAP and helped me when my PUPP returned post partum. It's also usually quite fast to get an appointment here - much faster than at RMC. I had a similar experience as another reviewer that his staff aren't kept up to date and they refuse to schedule you for things and don't check in with the doctor so he gives out his personal number and tells you to check in with him. Seems like he has had that issue for years since I had the same thing. I always found it a bit weird that he didn't want me to fully undress to look at all of my skin issues but maybe it is because some old reviews seemed to have called him a pervert? The dr told me to call and see him ASAP when my condition went active. I called and the reception couldn't even find my file. And when I told them what the dr said about getting seen ASAP, they made me the soonest apt available... weeks later. When my follow up appt finally came my condition was no longer active and the dr told me I was suppose to see him when it was active.... when o explained I tried, he gave me his personal cell phone number and told me to call him directly. If you are looking for a legit and thorough skin cancer exam, especially after having prior skin cancers, multiple moles and sun damaged skin, do NOT go to Dr. Nguyen. I've had two skin exams by him and will not be going back due to how little he looks at your skins spots/moles. The 1st exam was clothed. It lasted about 30 seconds. I was in such shock over what a joke it was, I didn't speak up. This 2nd time, I changed in to a hospital gown, hoping it would encourage him to be more thorough. This one last about a minute. Once again, not taking a close look at two I had concerns about. I asked him to look at them through the magnifying glass dermatoscope. He refused and said only Dr.'s that don't know what they're doing use those, which is such a ridiculous thing to say. It would have taken him a few more minutes to accommodate that to make me, the patient with skin cancer history, feel more confident in the exam. He did offer to burn them off, but I refused that method because I felt they needed to be biopsied. I'm sure if I had a PPO rather than an HMO, he'd be happy to biopsy since PPO's pay more to Dr.'s To top it off, he had two other staff members come in the room for the exam. I understand the female being in there, but I was uncomfortable with having another male in there. The Dr. didn't even ask me if it was ok for this guy to observe the exam. I had an appointment in December and was called back into the office for test results in January, not clear what took so long, but needless to say I was misdiagnosed. I paid my copays for both appointments which is $40 each, I was prescribed medication which my insurance denied because prior approval is needed which takes 2 minutes of the medical staff's time over the phone to answe a few questions which should be in my medical records, but their office wants an additional $25 to so. I'll freeze it off and it will look nasty" No thanks. He turns to his nurse and blurts out, "Patient denies treatment. What's next?.." Most places will do a thorough examination checking your back for suspicious moles or irregular marks. Not this clown. 3 minute visit and "goodbye." Kaiser Insurance is getting ripped off by this guy. If I was a new Kaiser member, I would not have a very good opinion regarding who Kaiser refers out as subcontracting. Now that we got that straight, where do I begin. Sarah is a miracle worker. I have struggled with horrible skin for over 10 years. I've been misdiagnosed and gone through unnecessary treatments for years. Not to mention the thousands of dollars I've spent over the years. I have vascular rosacea that causes breakouts, redness, and inflammation when aggravated. I have had monthly treatments with Sarah since November and I think the picture can attest to her work. I was referred to this physician by Kaiser. I have had skin cancers in the past and every dermatologist I have seen has told me that I should have a skin check every 6 months. I have had several procedures on skin cancers with good results. Over the past 3 years I have developed significant difficulty with eczema. Now, here is the issue. When I arrived I was put in a room when the doctor came in he asked "What is your problem?" I showed him a lesion I had developed on my back. He referred to it as a barnacle and I explained it was painful. He burned it off. My eczema was easily seen on my face and he never addressed it, nor did he examine my back where I had previously had a mose procedure, nor did he check my arms or any other exposed skin. I will not be returning to this physician. read more

I really don't understand these reviews Dr. Nguyen was beyond nice and answered every question thoroughly and explained in detail my issues I had with my skin. The office is clean and has it own private parking lot which is great! He made sure to touch bases on any questions that I had and also gave me additional refills on medications so I wouldn't have to come back so often! Very very slow service. My last visit I came 30 mins early and was waiting to see the dermatologist for over 1hr. My appointment was for 2:30pm and they didn't call me back till 3:30 I figured they were just busy. On my next visit there was only 2 people waiting ahead of me when I got there and I got there 5 mins early and still waited for over 1 hr to see this dermatologist. The staff is just chilling and the customers are just waiting to get service. Maybe if they can improve on the time they see patients and provide better customer service they would have a higher ranking. When I schedule an appointment at a specific time I expect to be seen at that time. If I was 15 mins late to my appointment they wouldn't even see me and make me reschedule my appointment. In addition, when walking in a patients room just knock on the door and address the patient. Inform the patient who you are and your job title. When I was waiting in the room for the doctor a staff member just walked in my room without knocking and started taking furniture and didn't even say a word to me. I wish I could give less than one star. Kaiser referred me there for my dry skin problem also other skin problems. He even did not trust my doctor who prescribed a medicine for my condition by saying they did not produce this medicine gel. I showed him the picture of the tube that I took (in case he might ask which medication I am using) and also showed the prescription from the Kaiser app. He did not believe and insisted and made the people in the office to look into that medicine gel instead of treating the patient. While I am in the room a random guy enter the room and start to search about the medication as Dr. Nyguyen talked about my case in a very disrespectful tone. This is violation of patient privacy. In addition, he did not do any medical exam to diagnose my skin condition, he only looked. He did not even listen what my complaints are. Also, he used racist language when I said I did not know about the over the counter medication he referred to. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Nguyen was unprofessional and rude.i was referred to him by Kaiser. He spent most of the consultation time being a sick perv. .I had gone to see him over a scar wand some discoloration marks on my face due to waxing. He did not have all of the consultation records with him. This seemed like an interview and not a professional visit. The going back to the topic of wether I had a "Santa" in my life to pay the bills. To make matters worse, he starts to write on the butcher paper right between my thighs. I had to block the upper part of my thighs with my hands so that his face would back away from there. A male nurse was an accomplice to this. He did not stop him(I was in shock). Most of the consultation was the doctor trying to continue to draw and the nurse pretending no to notice. I was too dumbfounded to push him away but did block my upper thigh area. Nguyen then said that his esthetician in the front will provide some skin bleach. she will figure out which one (I thought he was the doctor). I told him that I may not be able to buy it if it was too expensive. Again, Nguyen asks me if I have a Santa to pay for it. Yuck I have reported this to Kaiser. Ok, so I have a lot to say but I'm too lazy to say it all. This place is nice inside. Not trashy. It's weird because it gives off the feeling that there are 2 businesses sharing one space. The staff is decent. One issue I had was that when filling out my paperwork for my first visit, I didn't want to do my medication and medical history because I have cancer and still in the process of it. Instead, my hospital has a way that I can put in an email and it will send them a list of current meds I'm on and past, and current medical history and past. This would be the easiest instead of filling it out on a pice of paper, and the lady at the front desk would not give me an email address. Dr. N , is a good doctor. He's knows what he is talking about, and with that he can come off arrogant and not listen to anything you have to say. Some personalities don't mesh well with this. As for me I handle it ok, I'm not afraid to speak up and put him in his place. With that being said, he is very smart and quick and wants to get things done quick. His nurses or assistants are great, I have bad bad anxiety and a really low pain tolerance and them alongside with the Doctor, made me feel ok and calm...Even though they only let no family members in the room when having a procedure, he let me have one. I'm used to having at least 2. One issues I also had with them is that after my procedure, they sent me off with stitches not scheduling an appointment or follow up. They said in 2 weeks tests would be back and I would see them to take the stitches out. About 3 weeks later, I call in on a Friday and they say "wow no one has called you to explain your results or schedule to remove you stitches?" I said no and she said well someone will call me on Monday. Monday comes, no call. Tuesday comes, no call. Wednesday comes, no call till I call at 4:30-5:00. They say someone will call me at 5:30 or Thursday. They call at 5:20 and they say they will call me on Thursday. OMG -.-... They finally call today and my appointment is on Friday at 2:30...just for results. Stitches have already came off in sleep... I don't see why I can just get results over phone or fax them to primary. read more

Sarah in the esthetics center is absolutely amazing!!! Not only is she knowledgeable and sweet, she has a wonderful heart and really takes the time to explain everything! For the first time I feel like I have control over my skin. She's not aggressive. She takes a more gentle approach and explains everything she thinks you need! I had a horrible incident at this office, when I mistakenly parked in their completely empty parking lot to access the neighboring antique store of which has no parking, I passed a Caucasian male employee who watched me and friend walk past him and into this store , at this point a decent human being would have said "sir this place is not ok for u to park unless you are coming to our business, "but instead this person ran to the phone to call a tow truck, with malicious intent. Then as I left the store I discovered my car had been towed I was forced to walk inches from this employee and his cohort , who had been assigned to cleaning the sidewalk, as he taunted, laughed and made jokes of what they had done to me. I then ran 4 blocks in the middle of the 95 degree weather at 2 in the afternoon to save my car from further charges I couldn't help but ponder what kind of human being or employee would do this to someone, with such hate in their heart.if your not familiar with the expense of towing it is outrageous and for a young person who lives on their own working two-three jobs to survive it is devastating. The Doctor: Dr. Ethan Nguyen is really close minded and could be rude and arrogant. After going there for treatment I was showing mild success. Due to that, I asked him about other treatments suggested by other dermatologist I've seen in the past. He then proceeded to cut me off and rudely tell me how he was the dermatologist and he was the specialist. He didn't even let me finish so I could tell him those methods I was telling him about were suggestions by other specialist and dermatologist I had seen in the past. He was persistent with me continuing a treatment that wasn't showing much result; A Very expensive one at that. The Staff: People who work here are great and friendly, especially the lady at the front desk. Whoever talks to the insurance companies for billing though, definitely didn't do their due diligence when it came to billing, communicating with me, and the insurance. During the time of my treatment, I would go in two times a week being charged a rate I was told would be my cost based on the coverage from my insurance. I did this for a few months, and never once did they tell me to stop coming in because my insurance wasn't going to cover. They just kept charging me my copay each visit. After I stopped going because it became really expensive, I received a bill. This bill was for 2-3 thousand dollars for charges that the insurance didn't cover. When I called them about it, I was told I had nothing to stress about because I wouldn't have to pay any of it as long as I tried helping them collect their money. In addition, they acknowledged it was their fault for continuing to give me a treatment that otherwise I could not afford. I did my part and talked to the insurance company numerous times to help them collect their money, thinking it was the right thing to do despite this being their mistake. Despite of what they told, they ended up sending me another bill of $80, saying that it was for a visit in which I had only paid $20. I paid $20 because that was my insured rate for a regular visit that this dermatology clinic charged me. If they would have told me that visit was going to be $100, or in fact, if they would have told me the insurance was not going to cover me, I would have walked out that door and refused the service. They instead ASSUMED the insurance would pay and continued giving me treatment. This has honestly been the worst experience I've ever had with a dermatology clinic, and a very stressful one. As a college student I already have to deal with a lot of stress and expenses, and this was definitely not needed. I'm going to pay the bill they sent me, only because I don't want this to come up later on in life. I'm definitely never coming here again, and wont advice my friends or family members to go to this place due to the doctors arrogance, rudeness, and the way my billing was handled. read more

Then,I waited another hour in the room before the doctor came in. Dr. Nguyen was really mean to me. I wanted his recommendation and he told me that he could not do that because I was a patient from Kaiser. I thought he was supposed to be the doctor. I needed to get follow up work done. She is very informative, provides you information on daily facial cleansing, how to protect your skin from sun damage, what make-up is not good for skin, etc. She recommends products but never pushes any sales on you. Do not go to this office! Office staff is horrible.Took my son to his appointment (which i had waited a couple months for since they are super busy) and was told he never had an appointment? Ok, so i just called and must have spoken to a ghost who scheduled my appointment. Receptionist asked who i spoke with? Uhmm how would i know? I guess i shouldn't assume whoever i spoke with knows how to do her job and schedule a simple appointment. Plus they have a sign posted that reads 1-2 hour wait & thats if you have an appointment..So plan on having a long wait time! I regret not reading the reviews on here before i took my son the first time because apparently the Dr. Is also a pervert. So if you do need to go to this office #1 confirm your appointment and write down the name of who you talked to. #2 Be prepared to wait 1-2 hours #3 watch the Dr. Make sure you have a woman in the exam room. I started going to raincross dermatology back in 2011 and thats where i met the best esthetician in the world i went back today for a facial, extractions and a light peel and my face feels great Sarah knows what shes doing, i love how she gives me advice about products but she doesnt pressure me into buying them right there and then she has a great attitude i took my crazy 1 yr old and my 4 year old and she was very nice to them i cant wait to go back worth every penny. We scheduled an appointment a month and a half in advance. This dermatologist was highly recommended by 2 friends. My mother had an appointment today with Dr. Ethan Nguyen. The front office staff was nice as was the Spanish speaking assistant. Dr. Nguyen came in after running 45 minutes late and reviewed my mother's health history and made his diagnosis. He did not once once touch or look closely at my mother's skin. He treated my mother sarcastically and made assumptions on medication she had never taken. He seemed rushed and did not provide a comfortable chair side environment. It is a beautiful office, but the specialist was unprofessional. I would not recommend this office. read more
